Discussion Crazy interaction question

So, a bizarre combo popped into my head earlier today, and I thought I'd bounce it off of you nerds to see if it works as i expect. If a character somehow had Mobility (Rogue2) and Shielded Attrition (Guardian4), does that mean they could take a single action to raise their shield, stride half their speed, and provoke no reactions but enemies are considered to have used them anyway?

I don't think so. Shielded attrition states that only enemies who could have chosen to use their reaction are affected. But with mobility they wouldn't have been able to use their reaction in the first place.

You Stride half your speed or less, so you provoke no reactions. No enemies "could have reacted to your movement," so enemies would still be able to react to your allies' movement.

Note that normally, Shielded Attrition doesn't treat enemies as if they've used their reactions, it only prevents them from reacting to your allies' movement. So if an enemy could react to Shielded Attrition but doesn't, and then your ally uses a manipulate action or makes a ranged attack, that enemy could still hit them with Reactive Strike.

Mobility

When you Stride and move half your Speed or less, that movement does not trigger reactions.

Shielded Attrition

Each enemy who could have reacted to your movement is unable to react to your allies' movement until the start of your next turn (regardless of whether it chose to react to your movement).

Mobility prevents the enemies from reacting to your movement, so Shielded Attrition has no effect.

Its not a crazy interaction, it just works, mobility is when you stride, not specifically when you use the stride action, and no you do not trigger enemy reactions, the enemies dont expend their reaction if that is what you are hoping for

Mobility lets you Stride at half speed - notably, without triggering Reactions.

Shielded Attrition lets you Stride at half speed after Raising a Shield, which triggers Reactions as normal.

Key here, is that Shielded Attrition will prevent Reactions from anyone who would have made a Reaction to your Stride. If you also use Mobility, it prevents Reactions to begin with so long as the Stride is ony half your Speed (the max amount of Shielded Attrition, notably), and thereby makes it so creatures would NOT have made a Reaction to the Stride from Shielded Attrition.

Thus, it stands to reason that folllowing this interaction, Mobility actually locks out half the benefit of Shielded Attrition - which is you disabling the Reactions to Move Traits of creatures you whizz past.

Shielded Attrition:
Raise your Shield, then choose whether to Stride up to half your Speed.

Mobility:
When you Stride and move half your Speed or less, that movement does not trigger reactions.

Yep, this works. Mobility alters the Stride action so that it doesn't provoke reactions due to movement as long as you stride half your speed or less in total. Shielded attrition tells you to Stride up to half your speed.
