Long time fan of puzzle league and building a full creature collection MMO in the style! What started off as a Panel Attack mod has turned into a game with abilities, battles up to 6v6, ranked (duos, solos), dungeons with boss mechanics, and open world exploration.

I’m looking for playtesters and would love feedback from people who know this genre—especially on the controls, board readability, and how changes to the core engine affect matches. My goal is to make the game feel great for players of all levels, with extremely challenging content/high-end ranked balanced for expert-level play. It's in early stages, so opinions will have a big influence on development

The game lives on Roblox for now, but plan to make a standalone game down the road

Music and sound design is self made, but im a solo dev with a career, so have used generative AI for some visual assets. I have every intention of hiring artists if the game gets any traction

I play Pokemon puzzle league and am currently around a “very hard” skill level. I.e. my win rate hits 50% around Sabrina on very hard. I have beaten mewtwo several times, but average around 40 continues over the full run.

My current strategy as of now is as follows:

- I try to open with as large a chain as possible. I generally look for long alternating horizontal/vertical chains. I prolong these by skill chaining, but try to have the first few clears planned out. I often get 4 or 5

- Midmatch I am generally keeping up with garbage. My offense consists of chaining off garbage. I mix in some combos and x2 chains when they are obvious.

I think my biggest weakness right now is that I rely on alternating chains, which causes me to plateau around x3 to x5 unless I get lucky. From Tracy onwards, the opponent can usually shrug these off.

I have been working on horizontal to horizontal chains in super easy mode, and with these I can often get x10 plus by chaining nearly the entire board from the bottom upwards. The only issue is that this requires a lot more thinking and maneuvering mid chain than the alternating chains, to the point that I can hardly execute them in regular easy mode. I’m also constantly interrupted by primature clears or unanticipated combos that disrupt the chain construction.

I want to work towards a point where I can see and even prepare these longer chains in advance and only have to make smaller mid chain corrections.

Are there any guides on what patterns to look for when preparing for these at the beginning or how to practice them?

Been working on this game for a number of months now and I'm excited that it's nearly ready for release.

I'm really happy with how it is turning out, and I can't wait to get it into the hands of players. I'm working on getting it on the Google Play Store right now, then iOS, then Steam.

Some of the features and game modes:

- VS AI Mode with 12 bosses and unique stages. Including a speed run mode with leaderboards and replays.
- Time Trial mode with leaderboards and replays
- Endless mode with leaderboards and replays
- Puzzle Mode with 90 puzzles
- A community mode where anyone can design a puzzle and share it for anyone to play
- Full 3D menu system based on our solar system
- Full controller support

I'd like to add online multiplayer too, but I'm focusing on getting the core game out first and I will add that later.

For full transparency, I have used AI in the process of creating this game.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated :)

Hi everyone!

I've been working on a free, open-source puzzle game in the Tetris Attack family called Crack Attack!

Some background: Crack Attack! is an open-source game from the early 2000s, created by Daniel Nelson, that's been around on Linux for ages. I was completely hooked on it back then, and I've been rewriting it in Rust and modernising it while preserving Crack Attack!’s original gameplay.

It's not a 1:1 recreation of the Panel de Pon formula, so I'd love to hear how it feels to people who know the genre well. Does anything feel off compared to PdP—speed, stack rise, garbage sizes, chain timing? Is anything missing that you'd expect?

It's currently in beta, so expect some rough edges. It's free, GPL-licensed, and available for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon), and Linux:

https://github.com/thiosaur/crackattack

Thanks for reading—I'd love to hear what you think!

I made a daily puzzle game, similar setup to Wordle. New puzzle every 24hrs.

Would love some feedback on it. Is it fun, is it something you could see yourself playing every day?

I'm also working on a full mobile app, the trailer is on the website.

Cheers!

yo guys! big fan of puzzle league since 1999 I’ve never felt the excitement and pressure of that game so i wanted to recreate my own! feel free to break it here

its based in mythologic pantheons each pantheon has its own panels and gods with different abilities

I missed the old school puzzle games. I created a similar game called Puzzle Panik. The game is in a 50 in 1 game app in iOS called Fun Games for Flights. Specifically, I built a boss rush game to conquer 8 levels, a 2 player mode and an unlimited mode.

Feedback is always welcome. Reply below

Gameplay for iOS

Got a score above 10k in endless mode and it’s been stuck on this screen, is there a way to get out of this or is it a glitch

just figured i'd post this here for anyone interested in this sort of thing

Right now, I’m bouncing between Pokemon Puzzle League, Dr. Mario/Puzzle League, and PdP on NSO/SNES.

I‘m looking for a Panel de Pon implementation on PC, whether free or paid.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Hello all, Ive been working on and off on this project for about 2 years now called Slabbers! I'm not even sure how to begin this but... It all began after hearing about the cancellation of the Pdp Battle Royale, so I went to work actively developing one for myself to see what kind of program I would have to build to get it up myself (big dreams lol), I ended up getting hooked on Balatro around half way through the project and created a claymation monster than got way out of hand (I can show pictures of that if interested it got a little crazy...).

A little backstory of me, I first got hooked on the Pdp stuff way back on N64, where I had gotten quite good at the game back then (I still consider myself to be pretty good if im being honest), and have been working in gamemaker for over 20 years now. I am acrually getting Married in 11 days which is also crazy im trying to get feedback right now, but this project is my down time i guess...

Anyways, I was hoping to get some feedback on the project from some actual pdp players, I know it doesnt quite feel exactly like the formually of pdp, but most people would get the controllers etc. I've been actively lurking this sub for a while, and it seemed like some of you were looking for a new experience related!

I greatly apologize if this is the wrong place, although I've been around, I do not post to subs often (something i'll be working on more)...

Any feedback is appreciated! I have a demo of the game on itch.io if you want to try for yourself!

Once again I apologize if I read the room wrong!

Hi, I’ve been searching for and collecting Panel de Pon / Puzzle League games (and games with similar gameplay) for years. It’s become a bit of an obsession at this point!
I’m wondering if anyone here knows of any additional titles I might have missed, or even any official merchandise, promotional items, or other collectibles that could help expand my collection.

Here’s what I currently own :
Panel de Pon (Super Famicom)
Tetris Attack (SNES)
Tetris Attack (GameBoy)
Yoshi no Panepon (GameBoy)
Pokémon Puzzle League (Nintendo 64)
Pokémon Puzzle Challenge (GameBoy)
Pokémon Puzzle Challenge (GameBoy - Japanese version)
Nintendo Puzzle Collection (GameCube)
Dr. Mario & Panel de Pon (GameBoy Advance)
Puzzle League DS
Panel de Pon DS (Japanese version)
Planet Puzzle League (DS)
Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Puzzle League minigame)
Henry Hatsworth (DS)

I also have the Tetris attack vinyl.

If you know of any other games with the same core gameplay, regional exclusives, prototypes, obscure releases, official merch, guides, promo items, or anything else related to the series, I’d love to hear about them!
Thanks a lot ☺️

It's been so long since I played Pokémon Puzzle League.

I'm trying to unlock "S.HARD" which if I recall correctly is by "typing" BULBASAUR ???

https://www.intsys.co.jp/game/panepon/index.html

I'm working on a C64 version, here is the current state of the game. Let me know what you think :-)

No real audio yet, it is a work in progress after all

This is played on the English fan translation, though that doesn't really matter since I skipped most of the cutscenes anyway!

People always talk about Lip and here fairy friends but no one talks about this little guy. Would you buy a plushie of him? I'd buy a plushie of him.

No, not "Puzzle League", it doesn't fit the original game, or just "Panel de Pon", 'cause no way in heck Nintendo of America would just leave the title in Japanese. Something that matches the gameplay, the vibes, the things that the original had to offer! Please, tell me your ideas!
