Stats & Analysis Core issue

We are 12th! So our top order averages 19.81 which means they score around 20 runs per dismissal. The top order is supposed to provide a solid foundation for us, for the rest of the batting lineup. If they’re averaging 19.81 in ODIs, they’re basically not doing their job at all. Middle order ka bhi ye masla hai. Aur ye hamara bohot baraa masla hai because we’re not going to have someone from the lower order come through for us all the time like Shadab did yesterday. And we’ve seen this tragedy way too many times.

One player can’t play a clutch inning time and time again and neither should they have to because it’s a team effort. Our batting always ends up with the bowlers coming to finish. Our batting gets better when the top order stays on the crease for a long time and puts a solid score on the board. Rant over.

We need to get Fakhar out of the team. Need some proper ODI openers. Maaz is a T20 bat for now. Maybe Farhan and Sameer Minhas can do better

Opening spot has been a musical chairs since long. Since January 2025, we have had: Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Imam-ul-Haq, Abdullah Shafique, Usman Khan, Saim Ayub, Haseebullah Khan, Maaz Sadaqat and Sahibzada Farhan, all in different combinations.

You can't play ten different openers in ODI cricket, and then expect them to perform.

In 2026 alone, we have had 7 different players in our top 3, including: Maaz Sadaqat, Sahibzada Farhan, Shamyl Hussain, Ghazi Ghori, Babar Azam, Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman. 4 of them literally debuted this year!

I know we have ODI World Cup in less than one year, and we don't even know who are our final 20 players for the tournament.

Problem is too 2. Number 3 has still been okayish.. its the single digit scores of top 2 that is ruining this stat
