XMacro Ammo

Post image

Hello everyone just wanted some input for my p365 with the radian ram jet 3.1” and x-macro grip module build. Took it out to the range for the first time today and first started with federal 115gr range target and I could not get the pistol to group at all! I double checked everything and even started using a gun rest and it shot all over the place, after about 200 round I switched to 115 magtech (blue box) and it was shooting like a dream! All grouping 1” of each other. Do you guys think it was just that type of ammo, break in period or it didn’t like it something else any Input would be helpful. Thank you

Ammo can make a big difference, and it’s not because one ammo is “better” than the other. Your barrel just may not like the 115 federal.

I have a Remington 700 that shoots 1” to .5” with federal gold medal match 168bthp and 4” to 6” with hornady 168eld match. Both high quality match rounds but my barrel just doesn’t like one of them.

If your going to edc this gun I’d recommend testing a few different self defense rounds as well and picking the one that groups best and is reliable in your gun.
Speer Gold Dot, Federal HST, and Hornady Critical Duty/Defense would be a good place to start in both 124 grain and 147 grain. You could also take it a step further and try +p vs standard velocity loadings. The +p will take greater advantage of the comp due to the higher pressures.

I do have some Hornady critical defense I use in my other 9mm I own, will definitely take some of that and try out your recommendations to see what the gun likes the best.

My 365 with the ramjet was not reliable with 147 grain ammo of any type so I use 115 it's been the most reliable.

Thank you for your response, looks like I need another ranger trip with the various 9mm I have and see what it likes. I appreciate it

Comped guns want higher pressure loads (124 or higher). That’s why I use 124 grain nato rounds when at the range it’s the closet ball ammo to +P rounds, which I carry 124+P HST
