Question Olympus M.Zuiko 60 mm does not focus and gives error
Hello everyone,
I have the 60mm macro lens for several years, but unfortunately it’s now broken. The focus/distance indicator is permanently stuck at 1:2. Turning the focus ring has no effect at all.
When I mount the lens on a camera and switch the camera on, I hear a brief humming/buzzing sound coming from the lens. The camera then displays an error message. If I gently tap the lens, it also sounds as if something is loose inside, possibly a spring.
The lens is, of course, long out of warranty.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? Is it still worth having the lens professionally repaired, or is this something that can be repaired relatively easily yourself if you have some technical skills?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Question Why are vintage Zuiko lenses so highly praised?
This is a constant theme I see around the internet and in real life when I talk with people. I'm not trying to talk negatively about them but I'm genuinely curious because my eye can't see such a huge difference in quality compared to any other vintage lenses, to me they all look great.
Maybe my eyes are missing a certain detail?
Also I'm not a very experienced photographer, so maybe that's my problem.

Question Question 🙋♂️
New OM 3 owner,
is there a way to quickly identify in the OI share app, which photos, are merged photos, stacked HDR, etc?. I purchased this camera to shoot jpeg and minimize any post work. I can identify them on the camera but once they are imported they are difficult for me to quickly identify as the intended shot.

Question Made stupid decision and am asking for help on the consequence
I have just got back from a diving trip in Malaysia where I was in the water 3 times a day every day with my Olympus tg-7 rig every time I would come out of the water I would put it in the camera bucket of fresh water I never took it apart as every day I was back again so over time the salt gathered and now I can not take the camera gear apart I have tried a few things but have no idea what to do. It’s not rusting or anything it’s just full of salt the ball clamps can’t unscrew and the tray is stuck on the housing now
I feel stupid because I know exactly what I did wrong but also would love if anybody knows what to do 🤣
Thanks

Answered Gutted about my photos :( what did I do wrong? (Olympus Trip 35)
Hi everyone,
I had been planning to do a road trip around Oregon to go see some really cool places, not to mention some sites that were the real life inspiration for Life is Strange and Alan Wake. I was lent an Olympus trip 35 for this, admittedly I'm not a photographer, I don't really know what I'm doing but I just thought it would be really nice to get photos with.
I kept it on automatic pretty much the whole time unless it was dark and I'd turn it to 2.8.
What do you think has gone wrong with my pictures? I had 3 rolls, one all the photos came out but badly, 2 only five photos came out and the rest were blank and apparently my third roll was entirely blank.
The roll was always changed in low light and I had the camera + film checked manually at the airport.
Just a bit gutted with how it came out and it's not like I can get these again. Would appreciate any advice for next time
Edit to add: I had been using Kodak Ultra Max 400.

Question Want to experiment with a Prime Lens - OM3
I just got the OM3 with the 12-45 F4 Pro and absolutely love it but I wanted to try my hands with a Prime Lens.
Although I could easily google, which I did, for the cheapest prime lenses, I wanted to get the communities opinion on which cheap Prime is worth a shot, keeping sharpness and IQ in mind.
Im looking for something cheap because I'm not sure if I could live with that in-flexibility, or rather grow to work with it. So I do not wish to get a Olympus pro or Panaleica prime.
Happy to hear all inputs! Cheers.
PS. Before I get asked what kind of photography I do, it's basically a bit of everything but mostly street and landscapes based on where I am.
