Mod Post r/OSU is looking for new moderators

Hey Buckeyes,

As r/OSU continues to grow, the mod team needs additional help. Over the last year, the community has grown by thousands of users, and the amount of posts and comments has gone up as well.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who:

  1. Has a history of positive and helpful interactions in r/OSU
  2. Is a current student at Ohio State
  3. Is regularly active on reddit

Bonus points if you have moderation experience, and/or if you plan on sticking around at OSU for a while (e.g. you're a student who has >1 year to go in their degree).

What do moderators do? What is it like to moderate r/OSU?

Moderators primarily approve/remove content in r/OSU, but there are opportunities to contribute in other ways (e.g. community engagement, subreddit styling, automation, etc).

This subreddit is typically pretty calm but there are occasional bursts of activity that may need more attention (e.g. on bad weather days or during a certain graduation speech). As with any online, anonymous gig there will also be occasional trolling and outright harassment from users. It can sometimes be stressful, so we wanted to provide a heads up. If you have any questions about being a moderator, please send a message to r/OSU.

How can I apply?

This year, we will be using the Reddit Moderator application. Please click this link to be taken directly there.

Please don't post applications in the comments or message us on modmail, they won't be considered.

What if I'm not interested?

If this doesn't sound interesting to you, note that individual users have a lot more power than they think! Continue to use upvotes/downvotes to determine what does/does not belong on this sub, and continue to use the report button for when rules are broken. And a sincere thanks to everyone who already does that, it makes moderating so much easier and our community that much better.

Decisions will be reached within the next two weeks, and new moderators will be reached out to directly. Applications may be closed earlier if we find what we're looking for, though. If you have any questions, please use this link to modmail the moderators. Please don't put applications in the comments, apply via modmail, or reach out to individual moderators via PM (the link provided goes to a shared inbox).

Thanks for being a great community, we appreciate you all!

Mod Post 2026 r/OSU Football Ticket Megathread

Please use this thread to buy, sell, or trade football tickets, or ask general questions about the football tickets.

Please read before participating:

  • All transactions in r/OSU are at your own risk, and moderators are not able to assist with transactions gone wrong. You can report them to the site, or contact the site admins if the other party violated the site rules. See this page from the Federal Trade Commission on what to do if scammed. You can also report scams to the Ohio Attorney General.
  • Per r/OSU Rule 3, personal info may not be posted in r/OSU, so please exchange phone numbers or emails over Reddit Chat. Please ensure that your account has chat enabled (see your messaging settings).
  • Exchanging tickets online can be risky. Ensure that the person you are interacting with is trustworthy, and consider meeting up in person at a public place to complete the transaction. You may also want to use a payment method that offers purchase protection in the event that the other person attempts to scam you.
  • If your ticket(s) sell: delete or edit your comment to indicate such. Additionally, please delete your comment after a game passes to keep the thread clean.

OSU Students can also elect to use TicketBay (iOS, Android), a free app built by OSU students/alumni for buying and selling student tickets from OSU email-verified peers.

Help Lost purses and wallet

My car got broken into today so if anyone is around campus along highhstreet between target and down towards patterson finds a black shoulder bag with tan interior let me know cus that’s mine it’s cheap and not worth anything but if it got dumped somewhere that’d be nice. I am missing a floral coach wallet and another black coach purse so also if you see around someone trying to sell that that’d be cool. It’s a stretch but just looking around.

Help Losing way in Undergrad?

Hi,

I am an OSU alumnus. I must ask, is it common for people to lose their way in undergrad and maybe feel lost? I certainly did. I got my degree in International Relations and minor in Mandarin.
Post 2008 there was a big push in the rustbelt for engineers with all the outsourcing. I knew I wasn’t cut out for engineering and the Fisher School of Business is no joke. I originally pursued International Security and Intelligence in undergrad with plans for ROTC, intelligence analyst positions, FBI field officer, DEA agent, pre-law track (father is a lawyer and told me not to do it), embassy admin work. That didn’t work as I suffer from crippling anxiety and need fluoxetine just to function. I was 1.5 years into undergrad when I switched to International Relations so I could still graduate in 4 years. I spoke with my adviser and they said that would open me up to more private sector opportunities in HR, recruiting and marketing.

Hindsight is 20/20. My sister was a strategic comms major and at the time I just didn’t feel it. Wonder if I should return for a second degree in BA strategic communications if it only takes a year working full time. My current degree already checks the box so to speak but I just worry it’s less competitive in private sector than a comms degree?

Thoughts?

Please share. I did post earlier and had some helpful guidance from community. Posting again here for any additional opinions.

I have worked in financial services now for 9 years and have my Series 6.

Thank you,

Academics Yes, This Spring You Can Earn College Credit for Playing Video Games: KNSFHP 1186 🎮

Hello everyone! I'm Dr. Price, and this spring (2027) I'll be teaching a class on esports/e-gaming, with some video game history mixed in. You'll spend a lot of class time playing games from a variety of genres. Some of the titles we've covered in the past include:

  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  • Rocket League
  • Overwatch
  • Valorant
  • League of Legends

I'm currently debating adding Pokémon Champions to the list, and I'm always looking for suggestions for future semesters.

If that sounds like a good way to spend a Tuesday morning, look up KNSFHP 1186 - A Launch into Competitive E-Gaming when you register for spring semester classes.

Course details:

  • No extra costs. The course provides all the consoles, controllers, PCs, games, and other gear. There is no textbook to buy either.
  • Grading is based on quizzes over what we cover in class, a skill test for each title, plus participation and attendance.
  • No final exam or final project.
  • In-person only. We meet Tuesdays from 10:05 to 11:55 a.m. at the Ohio State Esports Arena in Lincoln Tower.

Want more gaming in your schedule? There are a ton of great gaming classes on campus; below are a few I recommend.

  • ENGLISH 2463: Introduction to Video Games Analysis
  • COMM 3513: Video Games and Society
  • MUSIC 2254: Video Game Music

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments, and I'd be happy to answer them.

Go Bucks!

Academics Physical Biochem 1 OSU Curve

Hello! I am currently in this class and am struggling IMMENSELY. My advisor will not answer when I email about possible solutions and if there is help available.

Does any know how big the curve is? I heard two letter grades previously. If I do well on the fourth exam and final do you think I could pass? (Currently like a 49%…I know, bad). This class is extremely difficult for me, so does anyone have any tips? I would be EXTREMELY grateful to hear :)

Academics Paratransit Service Experiences?

Anybody have experience with the paratransit service on campus? I'm a commuter with a WC parking pass. I also have an autoimmune disease that makes it hard to go a long time without restroom access. Between my 25 minute commute and sometimes waiting a long time for the bus/taking an extra 15-20 minutes to reach my location, it can take upwards of an hour sometimes from the time I leave my house until I have access to a restroom again.

I brought this up with SLDS in the hopes that they would convert my WC pass to one that is closer to central campus, but they first offered the paratransit service as an accommodation. If you've used this service, do you find that your scheduled rides arrive on time? How long does it typically take for you to reach your destination once you are picked up (are there lots of stops in between to pick up and drop off other riders)?

Academics Tool for spring 2027 classes: professor names, ratings, and grade distributions in one place

Hey everyone, I posted BuckeyeRegi here a few months ago and just updated it with spring 2027 classes. Also added more professor names for sections that still show up as TBA.

It puts professor ratings, grade distributions, GE options, and a schedule builder in one place so you don’t have to keep jumping between tabs.

buckeyeregi.com

Still free, no account needed. If something looks wrong or there’s a feature you’d find useful, let me know. There are report/suggestion buttons on the site now too :)

We are sitting in 9C so we dont think we will be able to make it down close to the field. We are driving in from Tennessee. These kids would never forgetting getting a high five from the GOAT! I will be taking CHEM 1610 at the same time. Is this a manageable semester? If anyone has experience with the class I would love to hear your thoughts or any tips you might have.
