I'm not new to Linux, and I genuinely want to leave Windows for good. I'm a gamer first, but I use this PC for everything.

The problem is I can never make it stick. Something always breaks, usually NVIDIA drivers on my RTX 4060, and I end up crawling back to Windows because I need a machine that works.

How do you stay on Linux when things go wrong? Any tips for making the switch permanent, and has anyone gaming on nobara with an NVIDIA card had a smooth experience? (I am not looking at dual booting)

Currently I have downloaded wallpaper engine n we- manager it works but the problem is there are always multiple errors when I turn on my pc like steam autostart works but wallpaper engine doesn't start automatically how do I fix that please help me 😭

I logged in after a shutdown and now my wifi panel is unknown, I restarted my network manager and it didn’t work. any tips?

Just a quick question, this window keeps popping up and it’s super annoying. I have no idea why it’s happening, it might be me being stupid but I did do some research and nothing is answering my question so I thought I’d ask the community.

I can't get gamescope working on my gaming laptop. Whenever I enter commands on Steam, the game just crashes. Does anyone know how to fix it? I haven't been able to find answers online. The fixes don't work for me.

I've tried gamescope -w 1920 -h 1200 -b -e -r 120.0 -- %command% but no difference.

I'm new to the Linux community and have no idea what the error means or how to fix it, so I would be grateful for any help.

I have always played Cyberpunk 2077 through the Heroic launcher. I have a 7900xt so I wanted to use FSR 4.1. My problem is that the game only runs on the staging wine runner. When trying to go to Proton GE or any other wine runner the game will launch but will then freeze when attempting to access the main menu. I don't know if there is some setting not clicked or something. Just looking for advice.

I'm having an issue with the native version of Discord on Nobara 44 (actually, I've had this issue since Nobara 41, which was the version I originally installed).

The native version crashes whenever I receive any message or notification.

Vencord has the same issue, and my keyboard shortcuts don't work with it either.

I'm currently using the Flatpak version of Discord, but Rich Presence doesn't detect any of my games.

So I just updated my system, and I found that the screen brightness is not going down, whether it is on 0% or 100% the brightness of the screen is same,

It might be a bug , do you guys also facing this or it is on my side only?

I switched to Nobara completely 3 months ago. I had tried Bazzite on my ROG Ally X for a while and I thought, why not on my laptop too? So far it’s all good, and nothing I couldn’t resolve with some AI help or forums.

However, there is one thing I still can’t fix: the sound. Every time I play a demanding game (it’s worst in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor), the audio starts crackling and falls out of sync. It builds up over the session, and restarting PipeWire clears it only temporarily.

As a workaround, I use headphones plugged into my monitor’s 3.5mm jack, which is connected to the laptop over Thunderbolt (the video comes through the same connection). That is the only output that stays clean. Everything else has the problem: the laptop speakers, the laptop’s own 3.5mm jack, my USB headset and Bluetooth.

My setup:

• ASUS ROG Strix G814JZ (i9-13980HX, RTX 4080 Laptop, 32GB RAM)
• Latest Nobara updates installed.
• Latest Nvidia drivers available installed.

Other details:

• It never happened on Windows 11, and the same games run fine on my ROG Ally X with Bazzite.
• I tried PipeWire and PulseAudio, and both behave the same.
• Bigger audio buffers, real-time priority checks, and power-saving and kernel parameter tweaks didn’t help.

Has anyone seen something like this on a hybrid Intel + NVIDIA laptop? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Self explanatory. Are there any mirrors in different geo locations? If so, is there a list of them?

I'm pretty sure GE is in NA, which while I am in IE which isn't the worst for connecting to NA servers, I'd much rather a european server tho.

How do I download n run coop games downloaded from"alternate websites"

So I just updated nobara and it installed a new version of the brave browser. That was the only update. And I can't use the new version until I reboot.

Can we atleast have a required reboot _only_ for new kernels or drivers or something? Like important stuff?

Requiring me to reboot just to update my browser is going too far. It's so unnecessary and it's not even like windows - it's worse than windows in that regard. Windows only requires a reboot when you actually update the windows operating system, not random applications like a browser.

Two years ago an image was posted - starship prompt are back. To solve it:-

Hey my Monitor is quite bright and even on the lowest settings ist to bright for me. I have tried nightmode but it just turns it more yellow. Any suggestions?

Every time a new song starts the Spotify launcher crashes. I've tried Spicetify but it didn't fix the issue. It started after the last system update.

Actually, now that I think about it, recently a lot of apps have sent that exact log on my system - Steam, Discord, custom web apps. They don't actually crash, but they freeze and send that notification.

hello! been using nobara for a whole year now, first time linux user, had zero issues this whole time.

updated the whole system yesterday, everything seems normal, then i opened the game "CONTROL Resonant" on steam, and after pressing continue on the main menu, halfway through loading my whole screen goes dark, claming it lost signal. The pc is still running, it's lit up and i can hear it humming, i hear the sound of the loading screen in my headphones, but nothing happens. I tried pressing all my buttons, playing with cables, nothing. Only thing i could do is reset my pc. I tried again and the same issue happens in the exact same way on the same part of the loading process. The game worked perfectly fine with zero issues this whole time until i updated my system yesterday.

I tried different games and everything still works, at least everything i've tried so far. it's just this one specific game. I'll probablly ask on it's reddit/steam support too, but figured out i'll do it here first since maybe you guys know some troubleshooting/things to check that might let me understand what even is happening. Thanks in advance!

I've clicked through this a good 50 times and it will not proceed. It is installed as a flatpack (if that matters).

I'm on Nobara 44 using Proton Experimental. Should it already be available in games?

I haven't been able to get my supported device to connect to the app and the logs shows that the app sees the device.
