This stocking took about 6 months. It ended up being a labor of love! Shout out to u/WhoMeDebtFree who inspired me to take this on. I am attaching a photo of her work too.

I was thinking of gift ideas for someone I know (that’s why I have the pet names blocked out) and I realized that I can probably stitch and finish this person a little pair of pet stockings for Christmas just in time. I just finished the painting process on them today, but I’m really happy with them and just wanted to show off my design lol. I made each of the cats look like their cats in the theme of a well loved book series, and I have the names of the cats in the font of the book cover along the top.

I’m just super excited for this stitch!! Also, I’ve only ever really basketweaved before, but if anyone has any stitch suggestions on the fur or feathers that’d be great! I was thinking maybe either a long and short or interlocking gobelin on the fur or feathers. I was even thinking of maybe using some beads as the jewels on the tiara or for the feathers! Idk we’ll see!

I’m trying to finish this needlepoint for a dear friend. I typically do crosstitch. so I’m very new at this. It shows the white areas being a charcoal gray, but there’s none of that color in what she sent me. (She started this probably 20 years ago?!)

I’m hoping somebody can identify this pattern and help me to identify the exact yarn I need. Can anyone help?

Any idea why I am seeing diagonal lines? I’m burying my threads horizontally or vertically. Is it just a tension issue? I am about to start a similar background on another canvas and want to make sure I don’t make this mistake again!

Also, do you think I can fix this with blocking?

I love love love the style of their Christmas/winter/holiday canvases but I saw in the description that they were printed not painted. I have only ordered from KC before so I’m not sure if I’d run into issues with this being printed?

Sorry, I love this canvas and have been unable to find it anywhere. I've even been trying to follow the trunk sales and two of the stores I've spoken to in the last few months just didn't have this canvas as part of their trunk sale, for whatever reason. I don't need it on sale, these were just two local LNSes for me that happened to have the COP trunk sale. I just simply can't find anyone with this canvas in stock.

Do you prefer to keep your NP stitches all the same, like half stitch? Do you incorporate decorative stitches in your canvas design? I want to use decorative stitches but i’m intimidated. I could’ve done some cool stitches but kept it simple.

My grandmother has stitched nearly 20 stockings over the years for everyone in our family. After she had a stroke three summers ago her vision was affected so I decided to carry on the tradition and started stitching my husband’s stocking. It may have taken me two years to finish, and it definitely has a few flaws, but I’m so proud of it and can’t wait to get it back from the finisher!

So far I have a day for NeedleNook of Lajolla and a separate day for Aristeia and trying to hit Newport Needlepoint and Jebba in that day. Its the weekend so I have to cram everything in on Thursday Friday Saturday.

Hello, I’m trying to get more consistent continental stitches in this section. I’m unsure why each of these rows are uniform but not the same.

I’m finishing this Thorne Alexander vote pin and want to hang it off of this jeweled pin, however, I’m not sure the best plan of attack.

I want the stitching to hang off the pin with jump rings to ensure it lays flat on my lapel (I feel like if I stitch it to the ring with invisible thread it would lay weird or the settings could cut the thread).

I also want this to be as low profile as possible.. I don’t think using mat board is the move. My thought was a binding stitch. Then maybe a piece of felt or chipboard with the backing fabric and a heat and bond interface. Then glue it all together or another layer of heat & bond.

Does anyone have any experience with sewing jump rings into their projects? What would you do to finish the back of the canvas and keep it as thin as possible?

I don’t think I want cording because I think the canvas is the perfect width for the pin as is.

Eternally grateful for any advice or tutorials you could point me towards. I couldn’t find any similar finishes on TikTok when I was looking.

Is there a list or general consensus on which printed needlepoint canvas designers are good quality and more affordable than hand-painted canvases? Something similar to Needlepaint? Also looking for designers who don’t use AI
