What is this?

Post image

This popped up on my Facebook feed this morning from someone in the “Native Instruments Maschine+ Users” group. This op still has not posted the source of this photo, but i don’t think it’s quite AI.

It’s “quite AI”. You can tell when something like this is at least somewhat plausible or not by the layout. The number if pads here don’t make any sense.

Looks like and ai slop version of a Maschine MK3. It generated the wrong grid type lol for the pads.

Look at the knobs over the screen, do they make sense to you? 5x3 pad layout, does that make sense to you? What is that white strip at the top? It tries to be the white led buttons from mk3, but it is all messed up. Where it usually reads Maschine has turned into white box. Etc.

It is clearly AI

Pad matrix 5x3 is quite useful for making beats

I wouldn't mind a 3x5 layout. The unit is not as tall, slightly wider... makes more sense for sitting on my lap. With the step sequencer on top you wouldn't be using the pads for that, which is the only reason to do 4x4 or 2x8.

I don't like one large screen, I'd rather have better control of what the two screens display.

But I'm ready to buy an 8 core Maschine standalone.

This has never been commercially produced...but it's not impossible that it could havd been an early Ableton Move or Push Prototype...but I'm with otherse assuming it was suggested to have existed by AI....
