McGee as leader
No Spoilers
Just finished watching episode 2, season 24.
I don't like McGee as a leader. He feels amateur for a 15? year veteran. Emotionally naive, always the last to connect the dots in interpersonal relationships/office dynamics. He's still a probie mentally even though he's senior field agent.
God save the navy if he becomes SecNav.

McGee was promoted to field agent in S2E1 which was fall 2004, so he would have 22 years of fictional experience by now.

All these years and McGee never really got a lone wolf/cold iron arc.

I can't tell if you think that's a bad thing? He definitely has matured and hardened since S1/S2, he just managed to do it without becoming a jerk.

It's because the team has no chemistry. Each of the 3 newest team members were already established in their careers, and there's no development in their characters. That's why the show focuses more on everyone's individual personal lives rather than their interpersonal relationships (besides Torres and Knight's romance). Tony was right when he told McGee that he needed a probie.
Kasie is also way too omniscient and omnipotent. McGee lost a lot of his value to the team because Kasie can do most of his job better. The show kind of follows this formula where the team just gets stuck on a case and Kasie solves it for them. The core team has never been this dumb before.

If someone in that position is dealing with office dynamics something has gone very wrong.
