Success Story 🏆 October 2026 - NSV & Wins Megathread

Progress isn't always about the number on the scale. This thread is here to celebrate every kind of win!

NSV stands for Non-Scale Victory. We use this term often because progress can show up in so many ways, even before the scale changes. Every win deserves to be recognized!

Share your win below, whether it's big, small, or anything in between:

- Logged every meal for a week? That counts.

- Walked past the vending machine without stopping? That counts.

- Finished a workout you almost skipped? Absolutely counts.

- Hit a goal weight, a new PR, a clothing size, or a streak milestone? YES. Post it.

- Finally figured out how to use the barcode scanner? That counts too.

Post your victories here! Every win counts, no matter the size. If it feels like a win to you, claim it!

A note on vibes: This thread is a hype zone! Come here to celebrate and lift others up. Unsolicited advice or critique isn't welcome here - save that energy for other threads. If someone shares a win, the only move is to cheer them on. 🎉

Nice Progress! 70% of my calories came from real foods this week

I’ve been trying to take better care of myself and my wife supports me in a way of making all the meals for me.❤️

I think homemade meals are really helping. I can have less processed foods, and it's also easier for me to stay on track with my weight. The share of my calories coming from real foods went from 65% to 70% this week, what a small but encouraging progress!

Support Question Google health still not connecting

I still cannot get MyFitnessPal and Google health to connect together… and I don’t really know why I’m paying for a membership where I can’t even use all of its abilities. It’s been going on for weeks.

Anyone have a fix?

Is it really possible for wild blueberries to differ this much in calories? Is the President's Choice brand or the Farm Boy brand inaccurate here?

Finally switched to a different food logging app with the help of AI

Like many MFP users I've been pretty unhappy with the state of the app for at least a few years now with all of the user hostile UI changes and obnoxious ads. Every time I tried to switch in the past I always gave up trying to find all of the foods in the new app and making sure all of the macros line up to make the transition as smooth as possible.

With the release of Meta's Muse AI agent, this felt like the perfect task to test how capable or useful their new AI agent is. I decided on FatSecret which feels like MFP's UI from maybe 5 years ago in terms of layout. Using Muse, I had it log into my MFP account, go through the past several months of food diaries, and find or create custom foods in FatSecret for me.

It was actually able to do this for me but there were a few hiccups on the way. First, if I had logged multiple entries for a food for different amounts, it created custom foods for each amount and set the serving size for each differing amount. Spotting the mistake I had it delete all of the duplicate entries and set the serving size to 1g or 1oz to make it faster to log so I don't have to change the serving size to g or oz every time. So far I'm enjoying FatSecret way more than MFP and it's much easier to use imo.

Anyways, good riddance to this garbage app, you won't be missed!

Another First Day…

Post image
282 Upvotes

This is one of the hardest posts I’ve ever written. From February & November 2025, I lost over 80 pounds.

Between November 2025 & October 2026, I gained half that weight back.

I’ve struggled with my weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for most of my life. I’ve been yo-yo dieting since 2015. I’d lose 40 pounds, my mental health would decline, and then I’d gain the weight back…rinse & repeat.

In November 2025 as the weather got colder and social gatherings ramped up, I took a “break” from my healthy lifestyle and said I’d resume it after my birthday in January 2026.

While I desired to return to my healthy lifestyle over the past 11 months, I continued to push it off and endlessly made excuses as to why it wasn’t convenient…until now.

The new smaller clothes I bought during Black Friday last year are really tight now. I’ll be damned if I have to buy new bigger clothes this Black Friday.

I could say a lot of negative things such as I’m disappointed that I broke the promise I made to myself last year that I’d never weigh over 200 pounds again and that I no longer feel attractive. But what good would that do?

While it’s important for me to look back when I should have asked somebody like my doctor to help me get back on track, my current focus is on the present. What am I doing today and do I need help today to support my healthy-lifestyle goals?

To everybody who can relate to this post, I see you!

Support Question Apple Watch Complication Not Working

Post image
1 Upvotes

Is this a known issue? I’ve just added the MFP calorie complication to my Apple Watch Ultra 4 and it refuses to update.
The watch and iPhone app both work fine so it’s just the complication that refuses to update.
I’ve rebooted and even reinstalled the MFP Watch app.
Any advice?

Calorie deficit plateau

Hi. So I’ve been in a calorie deficit since March 2026, it’s currently October 2026. I’m 5’4 and began my journey at 150 pounds. I began my deficit at around 1500 calories and lost weight. As time went on I went down to 1450 calories and now I’m at my lowest deficit of 1350. I currently weigh 126 pounds but it’s been really hard for me to lose more and I don’t know why. I’m weighing everything working out and I’ve barely seen the scale move in a month. I don’t think it’s a good idea to go lower in a deficit but was hoping for some insight and help. My goal weight is 115 pounds and it feels impossible to lose

Support Question Is there any way to disable the streak popups?

They are incredibly annoying. I just use it as a meal tracker, I don't need daily affirmations for logging my calories.

Lost the weight and gained a lifestyle

Post image

I am 169cm, 28F and lost nearly 28kgs in 8-9months and I have maintained the weight for 6 months now. As someone who did not want to admit that food and body weight had a direct relationship,
had emotional eating issues, a bad relationship with food 🥹, using this app opened my eyes. CICO worked beautifully, but the latter half of the weight loss was largely due to body reconfiguration via weight training and weekly long distance running and maintaining 8k-10k steps a day. I didn’t eliminate anything from my diet nor did I stop eating out one meal a week at restaurants. I truly understood what balance meant. Here’s to eating how much my body can burn, moving more, building muscles, countless meal preps, high fiber and protein,
and learning how many calories 100g of cooked white rice has!! And more impressive how little of quantity 100g of cooked white rice is! And THAT made all the difference!!

Back to using MFP

I've used MFP twice in the past and both times had very successful results. I then cut out margarine, butter and cheese and remained at my desired weight for over a year. However, I have high cholesterol and need to keep this in check due to health problems.

Is there some way to get the saturated fat results apart from all the other results? I would like to start using MFP again although I find it takes up a lot of my time as I check out all the food results before I record them. Thanks!

Google Health Calorie Adjustment Numbers Nonsensical

After years of leaving the apps disconnected, I finally reconnected Google Health and MFP. I had left them disconnected because I felt that the autogenerated number was usually nonsensical. It seems to be better now, but let's take a look at yesterday.

In Google Health yesterday, I have the following activities logged:

  1. Walk 1hr 8min - 577 cal

  2. Circuit Training 45min - 363 cal

  3. Walk 19min - 121 cal

  4. Walk 20min - 118 cal

The Google Health calorie adjustment was 530 cal. Even ignoring that Google Health thinks that walking around burns more calories than hardcore circuit training... how is the 530 number arrived at?

I have officially cancelled my subscription and moved to another app. Google health and MyFitnessPal not syncing for the past few days has been the last straw.

Not sure if this has been posted already...but just discovered the feature in EDIT DIARY where you can move food items around by just pressing down on = (seen on the right) and then just drop it to where you want.

I absolutely love it as I like my food/drinks items listed in order 😃

Is mfp giving me accurate daily calories.?

Hello!

I’ve recently started a C25k program. Just ended week 2. I’ve been trying to track my calories but I have a sneaking suspicion they’re too much. I am 32f, 5’9” and 194lbs. I am trying to lose about a pound a week. I run three times a week, about 2 miles per run. I also work on my feet, so I’d consider myself lightly active.

I’ve read posts saying not to track your exercise with mfp because it adds back calories. So I stopped doing that. It had me at 2140 calories per day on the “lightly active” setting. I’ve done a bunch of TDEE calculators said my maintenance 2275ish and that is pretty much what mfp has said I should have with what I consider, a negligible deficit.

The TDEE calculators all put me at for a pound a week I should be having 1775/day. When I change my mfp to “not very active” it puts me at 1810 a day. I’m not sure which to go by.

I don’t want to overeat. And I don’t want to be overly restricted either. I’m thinking the 1810 calories sound correct for what I’m trying to do. But I’d love some feedback. Because it’s like 465 calories deficit from what the TDEE calculators estimated to be my maintenance calories.

I just need help setting it up right as well as what might be the most accurate daily calories for me.

Bug Lost all my logs :(

Only a week in so not a huge deal but I opened the app just now to the login page and after I logged in found that everything that I logged in the past week has been wiped.

Has anyone had this happen and was able to fix it?

Edit: I was just browsing their support page and they said to try deleting and re-downloading the app as this solves most issues - turns out they were right in this instance! Feeling a bit silly for not trying it before. Hope this helps someone anyway!
