I've seen the Japanese Mario party game mentioned multiple times, can anybody explain how it's relaeted to MvC3?

Reverse-engineering a closed-source game like this means figuring out which states are affected by what processes generally by poking at stuff and watching both the game state and the memory registers move around. There's thousands and thousands of tiny interactions on that level, so mapping them out is very difficult unless someone gives you the index to say "4A does this and 8C does that" (I'm massively oversimplifying)

The Mario Party game in question was discovered to have a very similar index, so by looking at that, modders for UMVC3 were able to make a huge leap forward in the reverse-engineering process.

That is so random and cool lmfao ty for the explanation. Modders continue to impress me

Blocking zero’s incoming is the same level of rng

They use a similar build of MT Framework and function similarly on an engine level so it’s a better reference than other games for reverse engineering marvel 3.

I have a serious question if anyone can help me understand, i learned about the Rollback mode, so i went to download it in Nexus but i found it deleted, why is that?

The one on Nexus was another AI assisted one except the screenshots showed the game running less than 60fps.

Similar shit to this is happening in the Super Smash Bros community RN with rollback for Brawl/Project M/Project +.

Someone forked Brawlback, a rollback initiative that's been worked on for years, and used ai to finish it, and it's a whole mess.

So its between netcode mods and changing the code of the game

Netcode feels like the safer bet

I've heard about these two versions only recently, but I was wondering if the current known issues for each is listed out somewhere?

What are people's actual experience with playing these versions compared to the parsec method and what have they run into that is a problem compared to playing the base offline version?

Either of these blow Parsec out of the water, rollback is so much better. Especially if you are playing with anything more than like 50ms. I could never play Parsec with 200ms delay but I actually can have decent games at 200ms with rollback.

Dueling rollback mods.

Regardless of your stance on AI, the mahvel community is eating good today.

Timestone is being made with a lot of care and is one of the rare cases where its use of AI makes sense. It is not comparable at all to BK4RB, which is just purely vibecoded.
