How can I get a Master of Public Health recognised in Germany?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have a Moroccan Master degree titled (Master of Public Health) and would like to use it to work in Germany.

Has anyone been through the recognition or assessment process for a similar qualification? Is a Statement of Comparability from ZAB sufficient, or would I need to contact another authority because the degree is health-related? Does it depend on the job I’m applying for?

I’d appreciate any experiences with the process, required documents, and processing times.

Thanks!

Germany visa appointment slots Chennai Vfs

Thumbnail
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I applied for my German student visa via CSP on July 3rd for the Master’s in Logistics & Supply Chain Management at BSBI Berlin (start date was Oct 5th).

It has been almost 17 weeks, but my portal status is still showing as "Submitted", and I haven't received a VFS appointment slot or any updates from the Chennai Consulate. I’ve already paid my full tuition and met all language prerequisites.

Is anyone else facing a similar delay with the Chennai consulate? How can I check if they need extra documents, and what steps should I take to get an update?

German Job Contranct and Language Requirements

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Good morning everyone, I hope everyone is doing great this fine morning.

Recently I have secured a job contract in an automobile company and among the job requirements the employer says that he only needs English and French (which I already speak very well) then while I'm filling the visa form under "placement agreement" I got the German A2 certificate requirement.

My question is, should I keep it blank and apply for an interview? Or get a German language certificate while waiting for the "Vorabzustimmung"?

But I'm afraid that learning will take quite too long and lose this opportunity.

Also, does anyone have any idea how long does it take for the "Vorabzustimmung" to be obtained?

Thank you for your assistance in advance.

Have a wonderful day.

Amazon rejected my work documents. What should I do?

Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar.
My visa-free stay in Germany was expiring, so I contacted the immigration office in Lauterbach to sort out my residence status and find a way to work legally.
I found a job with Amazon, and they provided me with a job description. The immigration officer handling my case reviewed it and added written work authorization to my Fiktionsbescheinigung, specifically allowing me to work for Amazon for a certain period.
I uploaded my documents to Amazon, but they were rejected. I went to the warehouse in person, and the staff told me the authorization looked okay to them, but they thought the handwritten note might be unusual.
I’ve since moved to Trier, so the immigration office here is now responsible for my case. I’ve contacted them, but I’m still waiting for a response.
I’m confused because the work authorization was added by the immigration office itself.
Has anyone experienced something similar with Amazon or another employer in Germany? Did you need a new document, or was your existing authorization enough?
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Pending §18b application – Can I apply for a Chancenkarte as a backup?

Hi everyone,

I have a German Master's degree and currently hold a post-graduation job-seeking residence permit (§20), which expires on November 5, 2026.

I applied for a skilled worker residence permit (§18b) on August 25, but I'm still waiting for a decision.

Can I apply for a Chancenkarte (§20a) now as a backup without withdrawing my §18b application?

If my §18b application is rejected after November 5, would my pending Chancenkarte application allow me to remain legally in Germany until a decision is made?

Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Thanks in advance!

Indian guy starting GNM – is going abroad (Germany/UK/Canada/Australia) still realistic?

Hey everyone,

I’m from Punjab, India. I’m about to start GNM nursing this year. Honestly I’m very confused and scared right now, so I just want real opinions from people who are already working abroad.

My original plan was:

Do GNM

Try for Punjab government Staff Nurse job as backup

Learn German on the side

After 1-2 years experience, try for Germany

But recently my family spoke to a neighbor and now they’re saying nursing jobs abroad are drying up, files are not getting picked anymore, especially for Germany, UK, Canada etc. They’re pressuring me to leave nursing completely. I’m feeling really low after hearing all this.

I also have some personal fears:

I’m scared of blood, open wounds, patients screaming

The thought of needlestick injury from an HIV patient really freaks me out

Fear of making a serious mistake and facing legal problems

I know many people overcome this during training, but it still bothers me a lot.

My questions:

Are Indian GNM nurses still getting jobs in Germany, UK, Canada or Australia in 2026? Or has it become very difficult?

Which country is currently more realistic for GNM nurses from India?

How much money did you actually spend from India till you started working? (honest figure please)

How did you get the job offer – agency, direct application, or some partnership route?

For those who did GNM – did you face big problems in recognition/registration?

Is it better to first get a government nursing job in India for experience, or just focus on language + go after GNM?

I’m not looking for any agency or course. Just want honest experiences from people who are already there or have tried this path.

Any advice would really help. Feeling quite lost right now.

Thanks.

Legal procedures??

Initially, my plan was to go to Germany for an intensive language course (Intensivsprachkurs) and spend a year learning German. I have everything prepared: I have the funds for the "blocked account" (Sperrkonto), plus an additional 25,000 euros available for that year. My legal question is: what happens after the course? I was planning to transition into an au pair position to further improve my German, as the intensive language course only lasts for one year—but is such a change legally permitted? After being an au pair, I would like to apply for a volunteer program—either an FSJ or a BFD—to continue refining what I learned over the previous two years, and eventually pursue an Ausbildung (vocational training) once I have reached an advanced level of German. Currently, I am at an A2 level, but I feel I should start from scratch to ensure a better understanding of everything. My question is: is this entire plan legally sound, or should I approach it in a different order? I would greatly appreciate your help, as well as any experiences or recommendations you could share.

My questions are:

•In what order should I proceed?

•Is it legal to change my legal status, or are there things you would advise against doing?

Any criticism, opinion, or suggestion would be a great help.

All of this is to start all the procedures now and see where I begin, so I'm racing against the clock since it's not just for one year but for the future, which is to improve my German.

Is it easy for polymer chemists to find a job in Germany?

I'm a non-EU citizen, and I have a background in chemistry (BSc + MSc + a few years of work experience). Currently I'm thinking about doing a master's degree in polymer science or material science in Germany, and I hope to find a job related to polymers (hopefully an R&D role) in Germany as soon as I graduate.

Is it currently easy for polymer chemists to find a job in Germany? And what should I focus on during my future study, polymer science or material science? I personally am more interested in polymers and organic molecules, but if material science gives me better job opportunities, then I'll also consider. Also, which specific area should I focus on when choosing a thesis topic? Plastics, resin, coating, paints, optoelectronics, or other materials? My goal is to land a job in the German chemical industry as soon as I graduate - personal research interests are not important compared with job prospects.

Also, is it necessary to master the German language during my study, or is it relatively easy for polymer/material chemists to find a job without German fluency? I speak fluent English.

Any advice is welcome.
