Contradictions in Morocco, how everyone is trying to fit in.

Hi everyone,

We're doing a documentary about the contradictions we see and live every day, how we must have multiple personalities just to fit in with the daily Moroccan norms, and how we're hiding our true selves from the rest or how we can only fit in with certain people or certain environments. We would also like to get the opinions of Moroccan LGBT members considering the views of the topic in our country.

If anyone wants to share their experiences, feel free to comment or dm me, we're film students based in Rabat. I can answer whatever questions you might have!

I'm happy to announce that capitalism/ neoliberalism is the reason why we cannot find love anymore.

( We became mere numbers: " Rate this person out of ten/ How many people have you shagged/ What is your height/How much is your credit...)

Help me with a wlw situation

Basically I’ve met this girl she’s super cool and pretty, she texted me after we first met cuz we exchanged instagrams, and we talked for a bit then we decided to hangout again, I really enjoyed our conv and I love hearing her talk about random stuff and she always saves the conv before it gets awkward, we hanged out so many times before that but all the hangouts were just “friends” hanging out nothing romantic or wtv later on she told me that she’s pan and I am too, I had a small crush on her since I first met her but i didn’t want to act on it cuz sometimes it’s better to just stay friends, our last 2 hangouts were kinda different we started being open with each other more and at the end of the hangout we just sat down and started talking about our lives and she started telling me about some girl who was flirting her and how she came out to her friends etc and that’s something she usually avoids she told me so many times that she doesn’t like talking about that, and then a guy came up to us and started telling stuff like you guys are free to do wtv you want this is a free country just don’t forget that we’re around he was talking to us like we’re couple and she didn’t seem to be bothered by that we just laughed and I told her do we look that gay and she said yes and we laughed it out, anyways now I really like her but idk if I should tell her and ruin our friendship cuz I really enjoy hanging out with her more than anyone else.

Questioning starting hrt

So I am currently studying in CPGE and normaly I should be able to go to a french school the next year, and I should be able to get hrt there.

But a huge problem to me is that I still want to return to morocco after starting hrt, so I wanted any AMAB trans or no binaries that have been undergoing hrt if it is safe to cross the Moroccan border even if I have a m on my passport and at the same time I look more fem and I have boobs or can I just cross the border if I just wear a binder

where my trans peeps at?

Hello!! i’m a transfem living in Morocco and i recently decided to start HRT and i wanted to ask my fellow trans people on this subreddit about hormones available in Morocco. I’ve done research about the most easily accessible hormones here in Morocco and i found out about Climaston, not quite sure if it’s very effective but i started it anyway. Is there anyone here who has gotten their hands on Estrofem instead? Or does anyone know a safe way to perhaps get gel or patches instead? My dms are open, any help or suggestions would be very appreciated !! <33

Personally I really enjoyed Predestination. representation wise to Trans people is not the best. When it comes to Cartoon , there is The legend of Korra. For Anime I didn't one that I really clicked with me. For Music, there are two Japanese Artist who are none binary, Unnämed and Queen Bee

The movie "FEMME 2023" Beautiful because the story is different

Post image
10 Upvotes

The movie is talking about Jules, a drag performer. After he ended the drag show in a nightclub in London, Jules ran out of cigarettes, so he decided to go into a convenience store in full drag, and that ended with Jules brutally assaulted by Preston and his group of friends that was so homophobic in my opinion.

The movie hit us with a surprising plot that changed the story and made us experience a horror gay movie that makes you feel the heavy moments of antiraction with homophobic people and how the relationship takes a weird way for a surprising ending

It was beautiful to show us the backstage vibe, and it didn't skip it but in the same time showed the beautiful relationship between the characters of the story. I'm talking here about Jules's friends

The cinematic perspective is good, and also the performance of Preston was very good, like a real hidden gay in the closet. Jules as a character is so beautiful unspected out of the stario type.

Nefarious acts from inside the community.

There was a guy with whom I was hitting it off and it was going down smoothly. We went on dates and had a great time going on night walks.
One day he decides to get drunk and confess to me.

I was taken aback by the confession but I obviously liked him too so I was gonna wait for him to sober up then have a good conversation about it. But he kept calling me and asking for a meetup (ps : we're neighbours in the same street), after back and forth and so much come and go and constantly trying to make him ynderstand that he's in no state to consent I was about to cave in and let him have his way with the kiss he's been asking for.
Then I look to my right and I see his friend recording (we were standing in his staircase)...

I felt so disgusted at everything and everyone who was there and for whatever reason I chose to believe that it was a setup and I am not going to give anyone the benefit of doubt.

Fast forward a year later and I catch wind of the guy spreading rumours about him and I having had something between us a while back. then I confronted him by text when the thing got out of control and many people in my social circle started hearing about it. Mind you, I have and had no intention of coming out to anyone especially not people from uni.

He replies to my message saying that I deserve it and had it coming since the day I started telling people I'm straight. then he goes on to play the victim card.

After reading that message I was genuinely furious because my damn personal life is none of his business and he is NOT responsible for my identity nor is he for opening or closing the closet for me. He also TOTALLY neverminded the part where I call him out on the recording act.
As for me telling certain people that I am straight, this is how you protect yourself goddamn it. this is not the US so there is no such thing as being openly proud of your sexuality and sure as hell this society is in no way shape or form open minded nor rational enough not to behead you for being who you truly are. So a guy's gotta do what he has to do to stay safe and not draw attention.

I chose silence and I left him on read since any reaction from me would be just another screenshot for him to share with his friends and you can guess where that would go...

Is Tinder still good?

I joined again after 2 years of not using it as a last plea against loneliness, but god damn I didn't expect the experience to be different now.
The last time I used it I had 750 matches before quitting, I didn't have issues with finding matches or getting likes. This time however, times are tough. I have gotten 5% of likes of what I have gotten last time I used it in my first 24 hours. I learnt the app makes it so that you don't swipe right often so I'm guessing that encourages people to swipe right as often as they used to, right?

can you share your experiences. Bonus points if you are somebody who used it on and off.

How do you have protected sex, and where can someone get PrEP in Morocco ?

I’m looking to educate myself more about sexual health and how to practice safe sex. I have a few questions, and I’d really appreciate advice from people with experience or reliable information.

Do any of you take PrEP to prevent HIV? If you do, how do you access it in Morocco? Are there clinics, hospitals, or pharmacies where it’s available, other than ALCS association? And how much it costs?

What are the best ways to have protected sex and reduce the risk of HIV and other STIs?

Is PrEP easy to access, and is it affordable?

Unrelated but I feel safer here

I feel like I want to remove my hijab but I don't think I'll be able to handle reaction like the ones I seen with other girls.

I don't know if I could say I chose to wear hijab because I did it when I was very young but nobody forced me (I was just imitating people around me I guess).

But now I'm 21, and every time I go out it feels wrong. Not because I don't like how I look wearing it, but because I don't agree with what I represent.

Clothes are a statement, and if you like to express yourself that way GO GIRL!! The problem is that I don't.

I can handle my family but not school 🫥 any thoughts?

Questions for people who only want to hook up

I know, some people like to do both - they hook up and maybe they also hope that it leads to a relationship.

But I'm curious - what is it like for you, if you are a person who only likes hooking up and you don't want a serious commitment at all.?

  1. What usually happens when you're honest and say from the start that you're only looking to hook up?

  2. Why are you less interested in romantic relationships?

  3. Did you feel differently about relationships at any point in the past?

What’s Rabat like for gay guys?

Hey everyone! So I'm an American college student who will be spending about three months in Rabat this coming summer for an internship. I'm gay, and I've been really curious about what life is actually like for gay men in Morocco, especially in Rabat.
I know homosexuality is criminalized in Morocco, and I obviously want to be respectful of the culture and careful while I'm there. But I'm also curious about what the dating and social scene is like.
For those of you who live in Rabat or have spent time there, how cautious do I actually need to be?
Is using apps like Grindr something people generally do, or is it better to avoid them altogether? Is it relatively safe to meet up with other guys if you're discreet, or are there risks I should be particularly aware of?
I'm also curious whether there's much of a gay community in Rabat and how people typically meet each other. I'm not necessarily looking for anything serious. I just don't want to spend three months feeling like I have to completely hide that part of myself if I don't have to. At the same time, I definitely don't want to put myself or anyone else in an uncomfortable or dangerous situation.
Any insight y’all can provide would be so appreciated!

Am I asexual, or is it something else?

So, I’m gay, and I’ve tried having sex, but honestly, I didn’t enjoy it at all. The only thing I really felt was pain. People always talk about how sex is supposed to feel good and pleasurable, but I didn’t experience any of that. Instead, I just felt bad and realized I didn’t want to do it again.

I’ve also tried things like kissing and cuddling, and honestly, I enjoy those way more than sex. I’d much rather be close to someone, cuddle, kiss, and feel loved than have sex.

The thing is, sometimes when I’m getting to know someone and the topic of sex comes up, I tell them I’m not really into it, and they just ghost me. It makes me feel like sex is all some people care about, and it’s frustrating because I still want a romantic connection with someone.

Now I’m wondering if I might be asexual, even though I’m gay. Can you be gay and asexual at the same time? Or could I just be someone who doesn’t enjoy sex?
I’m genuinely confused about my sexuality, and I’d appreciate hearing from people who’ve had similar experiences.

PEP? is it necessary and how do I get it

hey so I hooked up today with a guy it’s my first time but he didn’t actually insert it inside me since he didn’t have lube and I didn’t douche before hard, tho it did feel like he managed to stick the tip kinda even tho I wasn’t opened up so m not sure, no m scared if he has HIV it will infect me does anyone have any idea what I should do? I know about ALCS but where is it and who should I ask there exactly, is it 100% free cuz I definitely can’t afford anything on my own.
