10 Rig Mining

Hey guys I need some help.

Currently I have 10 rigs 3900x with hive os mining in full at 124kh/s and 1320w/h. For me that’s pretty fine. I let it run to monero ocean and it’s ok.

But I like to get away from hive os.

I think it’s better to get Linux LTS without GUI. Than fine tune the settings without BIOS for the same results. Next point them all to my own pool or xmrrig proxy and than point the proxy or pool to my own node on my raspberry running umbrel os.

Is that possible and does it make sense? I really need some help about that.

Thanks in advance

Thanks and you happy with it. Need to maintain a lot?

Not on the actual OS side once everything is set up and running. Its the fine tuning the hardware that's a massive time sink.

Yes that’s it for be as well I was tuning a lot in the bios because hive os don’t help a lot about tuning

12.4 per 3900 seems a tad low, how are your timings? Well tuned?

I understand voltage then to 131-135 watt/hour per rig

That voltage isnt particularly low for a 3900x. Definitely lock your core clocks, tune your power levels down and play with your timings and sub timings on ram, at 130w per 3900x you can get more hashes

Use Debian or Ubuntu Server and look into Ansible to provision your server(s). It has inventory management and playbooks. You just need a proper playbook setup to run your OS and setup - there are hardening playbooks in the Ansible Galaxy that will harden your OS security wise. And it's nice because you can control your full OS config and software stack of the servers via those Playbooks.

The keyword with Ansible is Idempotency.

The gist is that once you have your playbooks in place, you can adjust them and rerun them as many times as you wish to achieve the state you need on the server. You'll never need to manually touch those server OSs again, except for resetting maybe.

Use claude or codex to get you started.

PS: Ansible also supports other OSs

Plenty of lightweight linux distro around. I use debian without issues. Are you looking to solo mine or join something like p2pool?
