Upcoming Small Change to Image Submit Form

Hey mods,

Just wanted to give you a quick preview of a change we’re going to be rolling out in 2-3 days. After receiving feedback from users about the image submission flow we’re making some minor tweaks to it.

It’ll now look like this: /img/62tikugu7nbx.png

In the past it wasn’t obvious that users are able to submit an image via drag and drop. This change makes that clearer. (Pro tip: if you're on Google Chrome, you can also paste an image, even now!)

We’ve checked a bunch of subreddits CSS and none seem negatively affected, but we wanted to overcommunicate. This would be a little tricky to roll out under a feature flag or in beta, so we can spot check your subreddit’s CSS for you on our end if you like, just leave a message in the comments.

We’ll post to /r/changelog when it rolls out - as an overabundance of caution you’ll probably want to check your subreddit CSS on your submit page if you’ve made any custom tweaks to it.

Thanks, and any feedback welcome!

Neat change. Can you check r/leagueoflegends? Also we disallow direct image links, are we allowed to tweak the css for that page?

It looks like it might be a little broken, but there's an easy way to fix it - you can hide #image-field.

You should check r/overwatch for me since I'm away from my desk ;) 😋

Only because you're away from your desk! Looks like you'll need to hide #image-field to get rid of the image section.

The choose file button is a little above the drag and drop border: /img/0d8j8jwzynbx.png

With this change, could we also get a rollback on whatever change added the text-transform: titlecase to the title field? That is really annoying for users, because it makes their title look different than it actually is when it's submitted.

That actually isn't a change that we made. I think a lot of subreddits are based off of r/Naut's theme which has that in their stylesheet. You'll have to ask the subreddits to remove that from their CSS.

Neat CSS! You guys only have text posts enabled, so this doesn't affect you. Everything looks good.
