how do you keep your sub from getting brigaded?
I run r/glazedivers and i feel it has always been a target for the toxic parts of the Helldivers community, is there anything i can do about this?

Turn up crowd control to prevent outside users from commenting and posting immediately.
But personally I let them talk and I welcome it. It’s free promotion for my subreddits. Any link that leads people to my subreddit is going to bring people that are going to like it and join.
People talking about my subreddits is good even when it’s negative.

thats my thinking on it as well
Helldivers is a pretty fractured commmunity and im one of the bigger "small" Subs and with one of the other huge ones the owner wants as little moderation as they can get away with, feels like a small fish in a big pond sometimes, ya know?

Ban and mute the trolls. If the mods of another community are openly encouraging the brigading, make an MCoC report. You can also turn on harassment and reputation filters. If you're already using automoderator, add the code for a community karma threshold or CQS requirements. (I don't think you can set it up from scratch anymore with the recent sunset.)

Recruit plenty of human moderators within your community, and empower them to ban.
Use Crowd Control.
Require anyone banned to follow a ban appeals process posted to your wiki - you write it once, they all read it (but honestly, brigaders aren't reading it)
Respond to banned users only with "You were banned because you broke the community rules and/or the sitewide rules. If you want to appeal the ban, [link to ban appeals wiki]"
The idea is to make it unrewarding for them in terms of engagement they get, and expensive for them to do.
It stops being fun for them when they hit a brick wall.

Keep adjusting your filters/automod until it trims it down to a tolerable or negligible amount.
Or just set it to manual review for a while, until the "toxic" people get the clue. Sure, it'll annoy other people, but if you stay on top of the queue, they shouldn't see too much impact.
