Failure to eject and double feeding

Post image

My rifle worked fine for a short while but after about the third time taking it out it started jamming. The casing remains stuck to the bolt and fails to eject and causes a double feed jam. I’ve cleaned and checked mags and haven’t found the cause yet

Is it just on first rounds to feed or all through the magazine?

I would have said try changing magazines and try downloading one round in the magazine.

You could get some 223 Snap Caps and cycle them through and see if they eject manually.

All through the mag on every mag i have but its random. Sometimes they don’t jam, sometimes they do

Maybe the ejector is faulty or has some debris caught in it but is still partially working. Anything is possible even with new guns.

If you give the bolt a good cleaning make sure no debris is stuck in or under the ejector. Make sure everything is lubricated as it should be.

I was having intermittent failures to eject on my Mini 14 a few months ago. When I looked at what was happening the bolt was not being forced all the way back to eject the spent cases. The ejector was still good and operating it manually, it was ejecting fine.

I ended up giving the gas port a more extensive cleaning (actually the whole gun) and properly lubricating the bolt and operating rod. That fixed the problem and the bolt was then going back far enough to eject the cases.

Maybe the extractor needs cleaning? Is this happening when you're just manually cycling? Cause that round doesn't appear to be fired.

Checked the bolt out? Had any blown primers?

I have a mini 30 and it does the same thing , I've heard upgrading the recoil spring with a wolff helps and also the trigger spring with wolff . I just did both to mine and still jamps when cycling 7.62 dummy rounds . Haven't got to take it to the range yet so hopefully it runs better then the dummys

Had same gun do the same thing. Ran accuracy systems gas plugs ( i think .35 don’t quote me). Then there recoil dampening shims. I run suppressed and unsuppressed. Fixed my issue. Also keep the bolt pretty wet in them.
