Is there an available app or website that you can use to document your mineral collection? One that works both on IOS and android for phone.

I found out in a field it was real deep in the ground I mean it’s heavier then expected a lot a lot heavier we tried everything to cut into it. It won’t you can’t or I couldn’t. It shows like a silver tone to the inside magnet yes does anyone know if it’s a meteorite?

Does anyone recognize this label? I have A very old collection of minerals and many of them had labels from this company. At some point I need to find a home for this collection by I selling it or donating. it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
thank you

✨💎Featuring: A smoky quartz cluster (one of my fave pieces from these hauls!) and black tourmaline (schorl) with mica; velvet malachite, pyrite, amethyst, red aventurine (red quartzite with iron-rich inclusions), tumbled moss 'agate' (chalcedony) and a small smoky quartz with lovely iridescence ("rainbows", but actually colour interference patterns); and ruby zoisite, tumbled fluorite and Hawk's Eye (blue Tiger's Eye, here mixed with the gold variation), alongside lapis-lazuli, tourmalinated quartz and garnet bracelets.

So so green so so gorgeous and so so dusty? New hobby is looking outside my geology building in the specimen waste pile for cool shit. Thought it was copper but seems weird for it to still be so vibrant after being outside for so long and suspect it may be something far more sinister. Ive found a concerning amount of asbestos there so nuclear waste wouldn't be that much of a reach. Anyways i really want it so Imk if it|l kill me or whatever

Hi guys I’m not really a mineral collector but I found this and wondered what it was. Found in Central Wyoming. Waxy luster. Some sort of agate? Sorry for poor lighting. Thanks!

A 142 g galena specimen from the historic Lavrion mining district in Attica, Greece.
It features shiny, silver-gray metallic crystals embedded in a white crystalline matrix.
Galena is the main ore of lead, but Lavrion is also famous for its silver-bearing lead ores. The ancient mines played an important role in Athens' economy, helping finance its powerful navy during the 5th century BC.
A fascinating connection between mineralogy and ancient Greek history!

I got these from a Chinese Livestream Shop and they told me these are selenite not aragonite. Really? I’m so confused. Location is Qizhou thats what they said. Please help..

Picked this up at a rock show a little while back. The label said mordenite + stilbite. It says its from Maharashtra, India. The matrix does look to be stilbite, but mordenite is not something I've encountered much in the past, and pictures online show it to be more rough appearing. Does this specimen look authentic or does it tampered with? Appreciate any input!

Help!! Why does my black tourmaline colors came off when tested with an acetone?
r/Minerals • u/Old_Physics4211 • 2d ago
My best guess is Pegmite, but I’m not sure. It was found in central Oregon near Prineville
