Hello, I wanted to share some pics from my Photoperiod Tahoe OG Kush bought from North Atlantic seed co.
We've been through a lot together and Ive learnt a bunch and Im proud of her and just loving all these colors. Trichomes are 1 - 2 % amber - first time Ive ever seen this on a plant I grew. I have her last water yesterday, will let it cycle through, give her 24 hrs of darkness then the chop.

Guide Check out FulCrop Sciences

• Upvotes

Check out what Brandon Rust has to say on his YouTube channel, FulCrop Sciences. This guy is giving out so much valuable, free information on cultivation, specifically with regard to soil health.

https://youtube.com/@fulcropsciences?si=gWOzu-R71WGV0CMt

Two things he does that the cannabis community needs to start doing instead of the bro sciences are:

1) 60/60 is wrong. 70/45 is more ideal. Do that for 7-8 days. Then buck the buds into a plastic tote that isn’t airtight. Let them homogenize for a few days then jar at 60% rh. Burping isn’t necessary if done correctly. If rh is still high then let buds continue to dry, don’t “burp”.

2) don’t check trichomes, check hairs. The flowering time, the pistils, and the senescence of the plant are everything you need to know for harvesting. The hairs throughout the whole plant can be like 75% orange for a more heady high or a higher percent orange for a more sedating high.

This isn’t an ad, I’m just someone who stumbled upon his YT. I now watch all of his live Q and As and I buy his products (humates, dry amendments, microbial probiotic, spores, surfactant, calcium silica). I want people to grow better flower, so that’s why I’m sharing this. To be honest, I don’t really want too many people buying his products because I don’t want him to be out of stock of anything when I go shop haha

Help My Sick Plant Spider mites - how to proceed and how to avoid them in the future

Well, it's been 6 years since I joined this sub and started cultivating. I've had loads of successful plants since then, but now I have spider mites for the first time. I have no clue on how to proceed - throw everything away or harvest early and wash the buds. This post was not written by AI, I just want to include as much information as needed.

Plant details and actions taken so far

I'm growing in soil, use BioBizz nutrients. I have a spider farmer LED. Plant is in its 58 day of flower, strain is Cereal Milk, which should have 8 to 10 weeks of flower. If things were normal, I'd leave it for at least one week or two.

The buds do not look infected so far, I've trimmed loads of leaves, where I could see those bugs. I do not want to spray stuff on the plant nor use predatory animals to eat the mites (though they deserve to get eaten). I've also put diatomaceous earth on dry soil where the plant is growing. I've also got another fan ready, which I will put to use today, to blow air from below.

How to proceed

The big question - what should I do, fellow cultivators? I did not use the loupe yet, but I'm sure that the plant is not fully ready. It has white hairs and has been in flower for 58 days, RQS say it should stay in flower for at least 8 weeks.

Should I bin the whole plant and start fresh, after nuking my grow space with chemicals? Or should I wait for a week and harvest it. If I do follow that path, I'll dunk the colas, for a minute, in water with lemon juice and a few teaspoons of baking soda. Followed by dunking in clean water, letting it drip down and start drying the colas. Will that get rid of the bugs so I can safely smoke my bud?

How did I get them?

I do not want to repeat the mistake of getting those ugly bugs again. What can I do? Here's my grow setup, what could be the reason I got spider mites in the first place:

  • My grow closet is in the hallway, I completely detach one side of the closet and put it standing on the floor.
  • I water every two days with 1 liter of water, that stays outside (to get rid of chlorine) on my balcony, that has other plants growing (the water is on the floor and plants grow on a small table above the water).
  • I also have a nosy dog that sometimes takes a sniff check of the plant and walks in the hallway multiple times a day.

My plan is to spray the whole wardrobe from the inside with neem oil or maybe even BioKill insecticide which is harmful for a growing plant, but I guess it's going to be okay after two weeks when the new plant starts to grow.

Next grow, I'll make sure the dog does not come close to the plant. I'll also use a fan directly from start, maybe buy a better one too.

For days I've been staring at these tiny white/brown spots on my leaves, wondering what the fuck was going on.

Today I finally pulled out my microscope and... GOTCHA, YOU LITTLE FUCKER! 😂

Found this tiny bastard chilling underneath a leaf, exactly where the damage was showing on top.

Pretty sure it's a fucking spider mite.

And now I'm watching him under the microscope, casually walking around, stopping for a snack, then carrying on like he owns the fucking plant.

Motherfucker, you picked the wrong grow tent. 💀🌱

Enjoy his close-up. This might be his last starring role. 🎬😂

Question Alternate plants?

Have you guys ever used your setup to grow anything but pot? I have a good handful of grows under my belt at this point and have been considering getting a bigger tent/light this winter to see if I can throw a couple tomato plants in there to have access to some banging BLT's when the munchies hit. I had also considered bringing my mint plant inside so I can keep making Mojitos. Thoughts?

Frosted flakes (pre-98 Bubba x White Bubba) day 51 of flower. Vegged for around 5 months.

7 gallon pot of fox farms ocean forest and perlite. Was drinking a gallon to a gallon and a half every other day, based on how light the pot was.

Temps peak at mid 70s, night is low 70s. Humidity was low 50% during day and mid to upper 50% at night.

Fed mega crop 1 part with flower boost for the past 4 weeks. Adding more or less based on nitrogen hunger and leaf tip burn.

3x3 tent with 250w light with two supplementary 36w lights. 4 inch outtake fan.

She's been drinking less and less over the past 10 days or so. Her first flush of trichomes are starting to turn amber while the calyx are mostly milky on exposed bud sites at the top and middle of the colas.

Today her pot was still heavy as can be after yesterdays watering. And yesterday was a light, no feeding day.

The stems are limp today. The leaves are quickly losing chlorophyll, but still turgid. The stems though seem to have less water in them. One cola had bud rot, soft, dry brown discoloration on the top inch. I cut the cola, and the stem was woody, but mostly dry. After cutting off the top inch the bud and stem were bright, healthy green and incredibly dense. No other signs of bud rot were found.

That cola had fallen against the tent wall. After inspecting all the other ones, I haven't found any signs of softness or discoloration.

I have really shakey hands today and can't get a good picture, but I have some trichome pictures that are around 4 days old I got with a loupe.

I can't lower humidity in my lung room, so now I'm worried about rot. Should I just go ahead and harvest the most mature colas? I can tell they could ripen a bit more. No joke, I'd run these another two weeks if I could with all the bulking that's happened over the past week. But I might have already hit peak trichome ripeness on some colas since they frosted up so early in flower.

Hi, what is this? I notice this morning this stuff. I put a white paper below the leaves and scroll the leaves, but nothing fell down. I checked below the leaves but I can't see.

If someone got that before, please tell me what it was.

Thanks a lot

Am I doing something wrong or could it be the strain? I’m just a little worried if the color are signs of overwatering or underwatering?

First pic is from Friday, the runt needed a little assistance emerging, I mistakenly used happy frog soil instead of seed starter I usually use. Rest of the pics are from today. I’ve got the VPD locked in at .7, about 72F and 67% humidity. What am I missing?

Help My Sick Plant Help please

So this is my second grow ever, I’m still a complete noob when it comes to diagnosing deficiencies and how to fix said deficiencies. So I thought the problem was lack of nitrogen so I started adding in a small amount of grow big to my waterings but that seemed to make it worse. So now I’m thinking salt buildup because my runoff ph is too acidic (5.80) and the ppm is also high(1800). I just started doing very light feedings to help flush out some of those excessive salts. Anybody got any ideas? Feel free to insult my intelligence, I’m mentally preparing myself for the mean comments coming my way.
