I'm not even religious and got goosebumps on my hair!

Prince of Egypt does that. Insanely good film.

Dreamworks had absolutely amazing 2d animated movies, they're all criminally underrated, it's just too bad the industry has completely given up on 2d now...

Didn’t they do Anastasia? We took a field trip to see that movie when I was school. The local movie theater played it every holiday season (and I’m still unsure of why).

That was by Don Bluth, great movie still though

I grew up in church. I’d seen the Ten Commandments and the Prince of Egypt a million times by the time I was old enough to get into Metallica. I remember hearing Creeping Death for the first time and I was like “wait…wait! I know this story!” Of course back in the late 80’s an early 90’s to a Baptist family this was “the devils music”, but none of them had too much to object to when I showed them the lyrics.

Yes. People who don’t know the song creeping death was made after young Metallica watched the 50’s film The Ten Commandments should really watch it. Great epic biblic film, and fun to see what James kept in mind to the lyrics later 👍

”Now, Let my people go!”

I can remember, as a kid, ABC airing the 10 commandments every Easter. I thought Charlton Heston literally was Moses lol. I enjoyed that movie and the Prince of Egypt as a kid and played them both for my kids when they were younger. Good stories indeed.

Were any of you folks around for satanic panic? I was, and I remember making my Mom listen to this in like 1987 when she wanted me to throw away all of my tapes that were heavier than like Bon Jovi. This song and the song “Black Sabbath” convinced her that these guys were just expressing their beliefs in a different way, and I was allowed to keep my music.

Meanwhile all of those Jimmy Swaggert types were doing horrible things in the name of Jesus.

How would she had reacted if you played “Leper Messiah” by Metallica?

I mean - without getting too far into it- my Mom would have been ok with that. She has a unique relationship with religion and spirituality. She had a pretty rough childhood thanks to the religious beliefs imposed upon her back in the 50s.

Still have never seen this movie. I think it’s wild that Dreamworks animation 2nd film ever made was the story of Moses

It’s a great story nonetheless. I feel doing it in animation had a better feel than if done live action

Creeping Death, upon first listen, was a religious moment for me. In the name of the Father, the Son and Metallica.

That’s awesome!

Anyone know what the animation is from?

From the movie The Prince of Egypt by DreamWorks, 1988. It’s beautiful! The “Deliver Us” sequence is my favourite part❤️✨

Man, I love this song. I got ‘So let it be written, so let it be done’ tattooed on my forearm about a month ago and every time I look at it, I want to listen to Creeping Death again.

Honestly I think I just turned religious

Imagine if that store was actually true and the Red Sea parted

Where'd you get this? I can't download, nor is it streaming from anywhere, so how did you get it?

Wished it kept going. The animated movie (Prince of Egypt) actually had a pretty incredible depiction of the creeping death plague killing first borns and passing the doors with goat blood.

The little gasps with each house it passes through.
