I really need to know what you all think. I felt tighter and tighter already during Corey it became difficult to move. When the trio came on I could barely jump, people just kept pushing and pushing from the back.
About 30 mins into their set and I had enough, headed to the back of the crowd to breathe. Then I see that basically people are still standing on the stairs, next to the doors as well...
For those who don't know, the exact same happened last year at Chicago social club, except that there you couldnt just move away from the crowd cause the back was literally at the bars. Also left early but thought it was just a one off example and the club specifically oversold.
But now the exact same shit at escape. I am deeply disappointed, I was looking forward to this event, and its the same once again. Idk who is responsible for this, the venue, the management, but this is killing the whole point.
As much as their music is amazing, such a poor organization simply makes the music unenjoyable for me. In my opinion, something has to change, idk if its a tendency in general that ADE clubs oversell their tickets, but Im pretty sure the artists have a word in how many tix are being sold. I am not blaming them, but feel like its time for them to step in.
Honestly my words, I assume, can come off negative to some of you. But I just dont think this is the way it should be. I understand artists make money with gigs and clubs want to maximize revenue. But I do think there should be an in-between stage where the extra profit is coming from ruining the general experience for many.
Genuinely curious about what you all think of this let me know your thoughts and experiences!
TLDR: Halō at ADE was severely overcrowded just like last year's event, forcing me to leave early again. Venues and organizers need to stop overselling and ruining the experience.
