Question Coding an interactive map. Need to know where to start.

Hello all,

I am really interested in maps and particularly about learning how all present day borders evolved / formed. I want to eventually code and create a website where I can have a time period slider for all of human history to accurately capture shape.

I need help with finding resources. Any recommendations?

I'm working on something similar, if you'd like to see if it's helpful (or fork the code). https://github.com/carpiediem/spoiler-maps

Mapbox has a lot of great tutorials and videos I’d recommend going through. Really thorough stuff if you’re uninterested in using their MCP tools.

It’s called “Border Studies” There are several information systems/software for Border Study “data.” Even a library of GIS maps. But our knowledge base is imperfect, and you will find gaps in history where we are unclear about the borders.
