My son held a music festival this past Friday, & a requirement was to wear a costume!
I did not want to spend any money on anything & figured I could make do!

Back in the day, I could pull her look off flawlessly!
I would grab my round brush(w/ a hair tie on the handle), my sheet music stand(to attach my round brush microphone, my album & out to the living room I went!!!

I would LIP SYNC & DANCE MY ASS OFF to two songs FOR MY PARENTS, AUNTS, UNCLES, COUSINS or anyone else who wanted entertainment! I did not care who was in my audience!!
I got so good at mastering look I even convinced my friends to perform yearly in the talent shows at school with me!

I've been looking for these 2 for ages, finally found a 'Madonna' tape but side 2 had audio issues. FINALLY got these for such a reasonable price. They are both flawless, kind of sad about Into The Groove being missing but let's just say it's 1984 and it didn't exist yet.

Besides having lots of iconic singles & videos, and some of the most memorable pop songs of all time, M is also the queen of the deep cut !

Her albums are stacked, front to back, with gems the general public often sleeps on cos they don't get the single treatment. Amongst those are, often enough, her album closers. Which is a shame, if you ask me, given how revealing & dramatic they often are.

What are your favorite Madge album closers, and why? Which ones live rent free in your mind, and which ones took time to grow? Which ones do you sleep on?

Personally, my faves are Voices off Hard Candy, for how ominous & bleak it is. The relationship themes that have been hiding in an album trying to keep things r&b lite & partying suddenly come to the forefront. Trip hop Madonna foreshadowing her divorce?? I'll take it!

Wash All Over Me off Rebel Heart is up there too. M wrestling with if she'll stay doing her thing, with the way the music industry has shifted since the days she started out, always gives me goosebumps. I know RH has plenty of bonus tracks, but for me, Wash All Over Me is an excellent ending to the journey.

I also really love Easy Ride off American Life. It's so beautifully reflective & full of kabbalistic symbolism. To hear Madonna confront her own mortality so head on is always stunning.

My friend and I bonded over a love of pop music, and we spent years on pop music forums and fan spaces. We’d always wanted something like Letterboxd, but for music. We found a few apps that did this, but none had quite what we wanted, so we decided to build our own: somewhere to keep track of what you’ve listened to, say what you thought of it, and see what your friends are into. Most music apps are built around streaming. We wanted one built around your opinions and community.

What we love most about fan spaces is the community: discussing albums and music, different voting games and the threads that go on for days. So Soundmark is a music diary first, with a place to hang out around it.

The other rating apps we tried were either website-only or just not complete enough, and we soon found out why. Music is a lot messier than films. Between the sheer number of releases, deluxe editions, remixes, Taylor’s Versions, box sets and live albums, it’s really hard to work out what should count and what data to pull in. We think we’ve done a good job of making it as complete as possible while keeping it easy to use (it was not easy!!).

What’s in there so far

We’ve imported mostly pop (including a big chunk of K-pop) from every era, plus most of this year’s releases across all genres, and new releases go in every Friday. The library keeps growing. If something you want isn’t there yet, search for the the album name + artist anyway. Soundmark will usually fetch it for you within a few seconds.

How rating works

You rate albums and songs separately, because a great album can have a weak song and a bad album can have one perfect song.

Albums and songs both get one score out of 10, in half points: your verdict in one tap.

Album covers get their own rating, out of 5 stars, separate from the music.

Every score saves as soon as you tap it, and shows as a Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond disc.

Your music diary

Write reviews and comment on other people’s. We support English and Spanish, with a translate button under each review.

Thoughts: longer writing about an artist, an album or a concert you went to. It’s your diary and your blog in one, and it shows on the artist’s page and your profile.

Tag the feel of a song or album: the season it belongs to, the mood, what it’s about and the moment it suits. You can browse everyone’s tags to find music for a specific mood.

Rank an artist’s discography, or the tracks on an album.

Make mixtapes, your own lists of albums and songs, public or private.

Listen first. Tap play on any song to hear a clip without leaving the site.

See chart positions. Songs and albums that charted show their US and UK peaks.

On your profile you can pick your Top 5 albums, your favourite artists and see your ratings, reviews, thoughts, rankings and mixtapes. Everything you do adds up to “units sold”, and certifications follow with time, like a real record. The Charts tab on every profile shows the Top50 SoundChart, the weekly and all-time ranking of everyone’s units, with Billboard-style arrows, peaks and weeks on chart. See if you can get to #1.

The community bit

It’s all optional, but it’s where you’ll find everyone else:

Album of the Week, every Friday: one album for everyone to listen to together and talk about.

Battles, three a week. Two albums go head to head, song against song, and you pick the winner of each round. Wednesday is one artist against themselves, Friday is two artists of the same generation, and Sunday is The Classics.

Survivor: every two days one song gets voted off an album, until only one is left.

Polls, including Album, Song and Artist of the Year 2026.

Every Battle, Survivor round and poll has its own conversation, so you can make your case and debate it with everyone else. You can also follow friends (or e-friends) and see what they’re up to in the Your Crew tab. Turn on phone notifications when it asks, and you’ll know when someone replies to you.

This is a trial

Soundmark is invite-only and still being built, so some things will be rough, and a few album covers or track details might be wrong. That’s exactly what we want to hear about. Tap the message icon at the top of any page on your phone (on a computer it’s in your account menu) to tell us about anything broken or confusing, anything you’d change, or any ideas you have, including albums you’d like to see battle each other. Only Jorge and I read it, and we read all of it.

For now it’s a website only, at soundmarkapp.com. We’re planning to turn it into a full app on the app and google store after the trial. In the meantime, if you’re on your phone, use “Add to Home Screen” and it will look like a proper app (and that’s also how notifications work on iPhone).

This CD is 2nd single cut from Madonna Ballad best “Something to remember”

Went to a jazz show and they were selling cds at the bar for $1 +tax so in FL $1.07 and they gave me, something to remember 🫶

I absolutely love this album. Lost my original cassette but now I have this pristine cd with foldout mini poster and notes. I'd really love it on vinyl so now I'll have to find a copy. Were there any different versions? Or nobody really did that yet.
