Help Mac M1 update?
I have a MacBook Air M1 (2021). Is it safe to update to macOS 27.2? Has anyone with the same Mac updated to it, and how is the performance so far?

Is it just me? When opening a site within Safari, most times it loads with a progress bar for 5–10 seconds. At times it's a blank white page. This also occurs even with local network sites.
I started noticing this with prior build of 27.2. Currently 27.2 (26B123) same behaviour.
Anyone else experiencing this?

For those who don’t get what’s going on: in the video, I’m sliding the volume from lowest to highest and back, and as you can see, the UI stutters. When I do the same thing with brightness, it moves smoothly, like butter. For anyone who doesn’t understand, this bug is infuriating. It’s laggy, plain and simple. Whichever Apple engineer coded this, I have some choice words for them.
I’ve been reporting this since 27.0 beta 1. I even opened a thread about it here, then deleted it. Someone commented “what do you expect, it’s only beta 1?” and that got dozens of likes. Now, dozens of updates later, I figured they’d have fixed it by 27.2, especially since the slider got redesigned. But what’s this? It’s exactly the same. It’s genuinely infuriating. I’d like to track down the Apple developer who coded this and strangle them.

Hey, I really love this windows insider wallpaper and would love one in that style with macOS too, is anyone here good at making wallpapers that can help with this?

I'm no Nostradamus, but I'm predicting Apple holds macOS 27.2 until Wednesday's new Mac announcements and releases a newer GM build than last week's RC.
We've had a number of features, fixes, and hardware-related changes seemingly held back with new machines in the pipeline. It makes sense that Apple would want to keep certain hardware identifiers, drivers, and other clues out of public releases until the machines are announced. I pray.
The timing lines up. The RC landed last Monday, and Wednesday marks nine days since that release, coinciding with the new Macs.
I'm betting we get a new macOS 27.2 build Wednesday, potentially alongside iOS 27.2, rather than the existing RC simply being pushed to everyone. Hopefully with more stuff fixed.
Anyone else thinking Wednesday is the day?

Turn your volume up and listen for yourself.
I built Purevo, a Mac app that cleans up audio and removes background noise in your recordings and videos. For this demo, I added fan noise to a clip of someone speaking, so you can hear Purevo do its magic as I switch between the original and the cleaned-up version.
When you’re happy with how it sounds, export it. Everything stays on your Mac. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no cloud servers processing your recordings. Privacy is the focus of all my apps.
Any Apple silicon Mac on macOS 26 or later will work. Try it free for 14 days, no card needed. After that it’s a one-time $29.
I’d love to hear what you think

Can anyone confirm 27.2 includes the ability to remove apps from local network access under privacy settings? There has been a long-standing issue where apps can just build up in there even when they're deleted. There's no easy way to reset it without going through safe mode since local network access no longer resides within tccutil like the rest of the privacy stuff (microphone, camera, etc.)
I found this article suggesting that 27.2 finally brings a proper solution.
Edit: 27.2 is now public and they did fix it. Under privacy & Security>local network there is now a +/- for removing apps.

macOS 27.2 RC (26B118)
When performing actions, e.g. empty the trash, restart the Mac, etc., a dialogue pops up center screen for confirmation. Since updating to 27.2, the content and buttons disappear after a second. Screenshot is of Empty trash, but the same happens for Shutdown…
Anyone else seeing this? I found that if I shift-cmd-4 to take a screenshot, and drag the screenshot area over the popup, the content and buttons appear and I'm able to click a button. A workaround for now.

While working on my Unity game on a MacBook, I kept struggling to see how it was actually performing. Windows has things like MSI Afterburner, but on Mac I couldn't find a simple overlay for FPS and temps.
So I developed a small one for myself, called Redline. It turned out to be useful beyond my own project, so I decided to release it for free in case it helps other Mac gamers and devs too.
It shows FPS, CPU/GPU usage, temperatures and RAM on top of any Metal game. It doesn't need Screen Recording permission, and it's signed and notarized, so it installs like a normal app. For Unity builds it can also show 1% lows and stutters, and save logs.
I'm still new to Swift and used AI as a coding assistant along the way. It's a beta and I've only tested it on my M2 Air, so if you try it on another Mac, I'd really appreciate hearing how it goes.

Any feedback is welcome,

Hoping you all having a great day, and sorry for my english, not a native speaker.
So, I was using my MacBook Pro M4 Pro on MacOS 27.2 RC, and I noticed a strange behaviour when switching between different windows by clicking them, out of nowhere the “Click-through” feature is enabled system-wide, and that bothers me xD.
For those who doesn’t know what that feature is, it allows you to click inside an element of an inactive window, saving that “extra step” of clicking on the window to bring it to focus and then clicking again on the button or link u want to use.
So, is it just happening to me, is it intended on new MacOS? If not, any help to solve it is apreciated
Thank you!
