[Hiring] [Fully Remote] Software & ML Engineers wanted for AI Training & Code Evaluation | Up to $150+ USD / hr

• Upvotes

Looking for software and machine learning engineers who want flexible, 100% asynchronous contract work (up to $150+ USD/hr) without standups, sprint planning, or multi-round interview loops.

THE WORK:
You'll be evaluating, stress-testing, and debugging code generated by frontier AI models across real software and ML engineering tasks:
• Running and testing AI-written code to catch subtle logic bugs, edge-case failures, and hallucinations
• Spotting time/space complexity bottlenecks (Big-O) and non-idiomatic patterns
• Writing clean reference implementations and explaining in clear English why a solution works or fails

LOGISTICS & PAY:
• Type of work: Freelance/contract for Data Annotation Tech
• Rate: Up to $150+ USD/hr (paid via PayPal)
• Workflow: You pick projects from your dashboard suited to your skills, log the time it took after submitting each task, and withdraw funds at the hourly rate a week later
• Onboarding: No interviews, just a one-time programming assessment to get access to the project queue

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
• Software or ML engineering experience (industry production roles or advanced CS/ML background)
• Strong proficiency in Python, C++, TypeScript, Go, Rust, Java, or C#
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and Big-O complexity, plus strong written English

ONBOARDING & APPLICATION:
Access to the coding queue is gated by a one-attempt programming assessment. Most experienced devs who miss the mark do so because they write terse PR-style comments instead of the detailed technical explanations the rubric expects.

If you'd like the direct programming sign-up and a quick rundown of how to approach the assessment (assuming you don't already have an account with them), send me a DM with:
1. Your country of residence
2. Your SWE/MLE experience & education
3. Your main programming languages and day-to-day stack
4. Your comfort with data structures, algorithms, and Big-O complexity
5. ~Hours per week available

Please reply "DM Sent" on this post after messaging me so I know to check my message requests if Reddit hides your chat.

[HIRING] Senior AI/ML & Data Engineer - Remote - Full-time

Plego is hiring a Senior AI/ML & Data Engineer, remote and full-time.

The short version: we need someone who can take ML work from experiment to production, and build the data infrastructure that makes that possible. Pipelines that hold up, models that keep working after launch, and the deployment and monitoring around them.

Day to day

You’d be building and owning data pipelines, batch or streaming depending on the project. Training and evaluating models, then deploying and serving them and keeping them healthy in production. Python and SQL daily, Spark/Airflow/dbt/Kafka regularly, and one of the major clouds constantly.

What we need from you

Five or more years in data engineering, ML engineering, or something close. Strong Python and SQL. Production experience with pipeline tooling (Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka). Experience with a warehouse or lake such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks. Models you’ve trained and actually deployed using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn. Comfort with AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus Docker and CI/CD. Real working knowledge of data modeling, testing, and system design.

Helpful but not required: LLMs, RAG, vector databases, AI agents, MLOps tooling (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI), Terraform, FastAPI or Flask, and monitoring or data quality frameworks. Java, Scala, Go, or TypeScript is a plus.

Budget: $50,000 to $80,000 per year, full-time.

How to apply

Send me a direct message with your resume, your LinkedIn or GitHub, and a short paragraph about one or two projects you’ve taken to production. Tell me what broke and what you did about it; that’s more useful to me than a list of tools.

Bangalore AI/ML folks — do we have a dedicated job referral group? If not, should we start one?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm trying to find out whether there's interest in a Bangalore-focused AI/ML job referral community where people can share genuine openings and help each other get employee referrals.

Rather than creating multiple polls across different communities, I've kept the discussion and poll in one place.

If you're interested, please vote in the original post here- https://www.reddit.com/r/bangalorejob/s/VXnUKGlkrm

Also, if you know of an existing Telegram, WhatsApp, or Discord group dedicated to AI/ML referrals in Bangalore, please share it there.

Thanks! 🙌

[Hire Me] ML/AI technical writer for startups | Articles, tutorials & interactive visuals

Hey. I work as a data scientist at a British tech firm, and have written technical content for YC- and a16z-backed startups. I’m taking on freelance projects and ongoing contracts for teams that need someone who can understand their technology and explain it well.

I write in-depth ML/AI articles, code walkthroughs, research explainers and developer tutorials. My work combines the mathematics and implementation details with visual explanations, including custom diagrams and interactive demos. I handle both the writing and visuals, with quick turnaround depending on the scope.

A few examples:

A post sharing my writing on X also reached 10k+ impressions.

You can browse my technical blog and main portfolio. Rates can be flexible, with the scope, visuals and deadline agreed before work begins.

If you need technical content for your product or engineering blog, DM me a little about what you’re building, your audience and your timeline.

Im also ready to do a small one/two blog engagement for very low rates in case you wanna see how I work/my style. So you can take a decision accordingly.

[Hiring] Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Search at Radar Labs | Remote - US or NYC | $200K - $300K

About Radar

Radar is the global leader in geolocation, with geofencing SDKs, maps APIs, and AI-enabled solutions for marketing, fraud, and operations teams.

Why is Radar the best place to work?

  • We're trusted by some of the world's best companies, from high-growth startups to the Fortune 500.
  • We have incredible scale: We're processing over 1 billion API calls per day from hundreds of millions of devices.
  • We are well-resourced, and we've raised $85.5M from world-class investors, including Accel and Insight Partners.
  • We have a high-performance culture, with ambitious and entrepreneurial teammates in every role.
  • We recently moved into an amazing new office in Flatiron, Manhattan, NYC.
  • We were recently named a top 10 best place to work in NYC by Crain's.

Despite our growth and scale, we're still just getting started. That's where you come in.

About the role:

We're looking for a Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Search to improve the data and search systems behind Radar's geocoding platform. Our daily traffic is over 1 Billion API calls / day (15,000 requests / second), so you will be operating at scale. You'll improve the quality and coverage of our location data, build and automate the pipelines that keep it growing, and improve how we understand queries, retrieve candidates, and rank results across geocoding and autocomplete. You'll use ML and LLMs where they can materially improve these systems, from data enrichment and matching to query understanding and search relevance. This is a software engineering role first, you don't need a research background, but you should be excited to work across data, search, and backend systems and reach for ML when it's the right tool. This role will be based out of our NYC HQ.

How we work:

Most of our engineering team are former technical co-founders or former Radar interns from schools like Waterloo and CMU. Most engineers at Radar fit one of two molds, technically: either Staff level expertise in one stack, or "Multi-Stack" at any level. We say "Multi-Stack" because "Full-Stack" has the connotation of "Frontend and Backend", but Radar Engineers might also work on Mobile or Data engineering. Not that you need to be an expert in all of those, but a desire to learn, jump around to different stacks, and get things done is the important part.

We care a lot about shipping fast and talking to customers. We're committed to our product vision of full-stack location infrastructure, but we also know that customer feedback is a treasure map to gold. Even though Slack is the brain of our company, working together in-person in our NYC HQ is the fastest way for us to get things done. We meet on Mondays to plan out work for the week in small groups and use Linear for planning.

To us, a week is a long time, and we expect to ship big things every week.

The stack:

Our core backend service is HorizonDB, a geospatial database written in Rust that powers geocoding: forward and reverse geocoding, autocomplete, and address validation.

It's built on custom search indexes and stores like Tantivy, RocksDB, and FSTs, with ML models for query understanding and ranking.

Our geospatial data pipelines are written in Scala and Python on Airflow, merging commercial and open data sources into the indexes HorizonDB serves.

The API layer is a Node.js TypeScript app, and we use MongoDB, S3/Athena, and Redis.

Everything is deployed to AWS via Kubernetes on EKS using Terraform.

Most engineers are in the on-call rotation.

We sponsor OpenStreetMaps, MapLibre, and OpenAddresses.

How we use AI:

  • Engineers choose what AI tools they use, Claude and Codex being the most popular.
  • We're actively building Claude skills - for example we've taught it how to debug HorizonDB, our geospatial database.
  • All code changes are reviewed by an Engineer knowledgeable in that area. Claude and Codex also review all PRs.
  • There is a range of how much engineers use AI. Most use it daily if not weekly.
  • We are excited about what AI can do, but we also recognize the risks and don't compromise our coding standards.

The hiring process:

After a call with our Technical Recruiter, you'll do several technical Zoom calls with members of our engineering team: code screen, coding round, and system design round. If those go well we'll invite you to our NYC HQ for a final round interview. You'll meet one of our co-founders, someone from outside engineering, and meet more people from Radar. We'll go into more depth about how we work to see if there is a match.

What you’ll do:

  • Improve geocoding and autocomplete quality through better query understanding, retrieval, ranking, and relevance
  • Use ML and LLMs to enrich, label, match, and expand our location data at scale
  • Automate the data pipelines that keep our coverage and detail growing, reducing manual work and making routine corrections easier to handle automatically
  • Onboard new and messy data sources, improving how we normalize, match, and integrate US and international location data
  • Work across the boundary between data and search, improving how location data is indexed, retrieved, ranked, and surfaced to users
  • Range across the stack, from data pipelines in Scala and Python to search and serving in HorizonDB (Rust)
  • Have your work power over 1 Billion API calls / day
  • Talk to Radar customers and prospects, hear their feedback, incorporate it into your work, and make them successful

You should:

  • Think of yourself as a generalist engineer first, not tied to any particular stack
  • Are interested in talking to customers or prospects and making them successful
  • Are deeply curious about how things work, and have the tenacity to sit with hard problems and power through them

Bonus points if you:

  • Are a former technical co-founder
  • Have worked on a high throughput, high growth SaaS application
  • Have worked on geospatial infrastructure

  • Have applied ML or LLMs to a real product or data problem

  • Have worked on search, ranking, relevance, query understanding, or information retrieval systems

You’ll work with:

  • Tim Julien, CTO
  • Rishant Dwivedi, Engineering Manager
  • Our customers and prospects
  • Our Customer Success, Sales Engineering, and Sales teams

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Meaningful stock options in a fast-growing company
  • 401(k) plan with 4% match
  • New HQ in Flatiron, NYC
  • Top-notch equipment
  • Catered lunches
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with 100% coverage for employees
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Commuter and fitness benefits

We’ll share full details of our benefits package at the offer stage. Benefits may vary by location.

Radar is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Compensation

$200K – $300K • Offers Equity

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The final offer may vary based on market location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Apply: Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Search at Radar Labs

Title: How do you introduce yourself in an AI Engineer interview?

Hey everyone,

I feel like my self-introduction isn't that good during AI Engineer interviews.

I have around 3 years of IT experience, but I sometimes struggle to explain my experience properly.

If you're working as an AI Engineer, GenAI Engineer, or LLM Engineer, could you share how you introduce yourself in interviews?

Even a simple example would really help me improve mine.

Thanks in advance!
