I'm playing HBG for the first time ever and just crafted the shagaru magala HBG since it seems to be one of the best in the game but i can't for the life of me find out where and how to get Dragon Ammo

I've just been buying all my ammo so far and never realized that dragon S wasnt in any of the shops

I'm trying to decide which one I want to aim for, but I'm stuck due to the differences in elemental and raw damage. I know SnS is more elemental focused, but is 5 more elemental worth 50 raw damage?

I'm mainly trying to understand how much of a trade off elemental damage is worth before the loss in raw damage outweighs the elemental gain.

Edit: I appreciate everyone's comments thus far. However, I still haven't gotten my main question answered: how much of a difference is 5 element up and 50 raw damage down?

I would respond to people's comments, but for some reason it isn't showing me them. I get the notification, but it refuses to load. And my laptop is currently packed up, so this is all I have to view them on.

Edit: I'm gonna go for the Alatreon SnS, but I want to understand the damage difference of 5 element vs 50 raw for SnS.

Any tips on soloing ex deviants? I use sns. So far the only thing I could think of is use adept style and ditch defense since everything will one shot me anyway. My inventory is just oils, max and ancient potions plus their materials, book of combines 1-4, mega dash juice and mega demondrugs, whetstones, farcaster and materials.

I eat the defense L with elem res S since it has felyne weakener.

Currently I have only beaten redhelm and I am currently attempting silverwind.

New file, solo’ing again. Admittedly I was afraid of this one after my first and only win against this Frontier-like beast. What a hell of a rush. I still painfully remember fighting this guy and my hairline win. Last time it took a whole day, moxie AND insurance, all of healing items, and now it only took 2 attempts, a calmer mind, patience. I've been playing the game for about a week on my switch 2, I do really love it but I still don't understand many mechanics and things like styles. I'm using a ChargeBlade which I'm starting to get the hang of and I'm really loving it, I'm just a little confused and overwhelmed.

Still looking for a weapon to actually main and not wana change later. Trying Lance. And it feels incredible... Block. Poke. I feel untouchable. I kind of like simplicity, so I don't need anything flashy. I just want to see the target being dead...

But shouldn't a recent post that claims to run mhgu natively on pc, through its use be celebrated as a confirmation of what's possible.

Recently through the use of ai, its was proven that a ps2 cd could be run on ps5 despite sony denying it.

Meaning monster hunter dos can be played natively on ps5.

I cannot believe what I am seeing. It does not look like he is using tenderizer even. just SHarpness+2, Razor sharp, tropic hunter, and crit eye+2 and crit boost. But how?!

It cannot be this easy...right? [Not even palicoes]. How did you guys do Alateron G4? Coz I am stuck.....I suppose I could try this player's set.

Building a Spread bow right now, with full GX Old I get:

Fleet Feet
Crit Eye 3
Crit Boost
Spread Up

Since my Spread and Wex talismans all suck I have only room for one more skill, and I'm thinking either TrueShot or Weakness Exploit. Normally you'd go Wex, but it's Spread bow (meaning inconsistent hitzones), my best Wex talisman is +3 OOO (lol), Valor style also benefits a lot from TrueShot, the raw boost also works well with Fleet Feet. But running a Spread bow with only 30 affinity also seems kinda dumb.

Yes the GX Old set is non-negotiable, I just really want to try Fleet Feet on a multiplayer viable set.

So I'm kinda doing a personal challenge of locking myself to low-rank village and the Congalala urgent while I'm waiting for my group to make it to high-rank hub. Every piece of documentation I can find says that HR Congalala has 3 shiny drop tables based on what they start the hunt holding - a bone table, a mushroom table, and an ore table. The thing is that after several hours of essentially shiny hunting, soft resetting the hunt after checking the item/shiny drop, I've received no indication that I've landed on the right table, and have only seen mushrooms, and the very occasional ore in their tails.

So with all that said, could someone please confirm for me that it is actually possible to roll on the "bone table" for Congalala's shiny drop?

Does anyone have a HR1 save file that they can send me? Id like to start fresh

Hi, everybody knows a monster wakes up when you hit them or when your palico hits them. But in my last few quests an HR Gore Magala and an HR Barioth woke up completely by themselves. Neither my palicos or myself hit them, so what ist going on? Do some monsters just wake up by me sneaking next to them to plant a trap?

The build is neset with Focus, crit eye 1, weakness exploit, crit boost, and recovery speed 1. I do plan on upgrading RR to level 5 so I’m wondering which would be better overall

I don't use it very often, especially with Valor Style, but this time I decided to give it a try with a pretty basic set (Ahtal-Ka), and I had a blast.

Now I feel like practicing more because, clearly, I still miss a lot of my hits xD
