Heather tries to hit Rodrick but he ducks and Heather hits the chocolate fountain causing it to spray all over her. Rodrick tries to help/console her but they slip on the chocolate on the floor. Rodrick tries to ask Heather out on the floor and she just glares at him annoyed and when we last see them they are getting up as all the guests are leaving the party.

At the end of the film we see Rodrick at the pool with the rest of the Heffley family like nothing happened. So is it safe to assume that Rodrick got over Heather and doesn't like her anymore or is it he still likes her but has accepted that she doesn't like him back

First up, Bill represents George Harrison wanting more of his songs to be heard compared to John or Paul. Bill breaks away from the band to make songs solo, mirroring what the Beatles members desires to do towards the breakup. When Bill gets a girlfriend, the band slowly get annoyed as they aren't hanging out as much. This mirrors John Lennon bringing Yoko Ono into the studio making the other Beatles annoyed. Lastly, success couldn't bind the Beatles together, and the Löded Diper members love for rock could not keep them together in the end
