CachyOS + niri, with the Niri-glass patches, so the glass really refracts what's behind it.

Everything on screen is my own shell, vitrum, written in Quickshell. This is the 0.5 update.

What's new

- Its own look instead of Material 3. Panels stay real glass; anything switched on turns to frosted, lit glass with a soft glow in your accent colour. No pill shapes, thin Phosphor line icons, and motion that settles without bouncing.

- A bar editor: drag modules between islands and sides on a live copy of the bar, give each screen its own layout, set each module's options.

- 40 desktop widgets (14 new): agenda, habits, stopwatch, moon phase, air quality, top processes, screen time, a per-app volume mixer, RSS headlines, clipboard and more. Still dragged and resized right on the desktop, and you can write your own in QML or as a shell script.

- A reworked lock screen. The field lights up as you type, Caps Lock gets a hint, and it quiets down when idle.

- A welcome tour with live previews of each part of the desktop, and an About window made of spec tiles.

- Optional Steam (via Millennium) and Vesktop themes that follow your colours.

Still there

A bar of islands that grow when something happens (recording, a game, updates), a dock, a control centre, notifications and the lock on the same glass. Mod+Space searches apps, files, maths, clipboard and emoji; Mod+/ shows every shortcut. Screenshots, recording, a colour picker, a window switcher and an overview are built in.

Colours: one palette from the wallpaper for the shell, kitty, GTK, Qt, tmux, Neovim, and now Steam and Discord. It goes light or dark with the sun.

Hello my fellow Linux users. This is my first Waybar setup in Linux Hyprland. Since this is my first time using Waybar (and Hyprland in general), i would be more than happy for some ideas i could ad, plus maybe some critic for my setup. Thank yall for the Help in advance!!

This is a new DE I am building out for a Linux Distro I have been building. I am trying to create something that is clean, easy to use and minimal. It has a dark mode as well and supports desktop widgets.

Edit : To anyone who thinks this is a AI Slop Rendering - this is a pre-release version of Breadstick Linux, I was trying to avoid self promotion but since a few have accused me of posting something that does not exist, I feel the need to show some evidence that this is real. My intent was to get your feedback on the look and feel of the desktop UI that I am working on for the next major release.

Here I'm sitting on my Ubuntu 25.10 and trying my best to recreate the old Ubuntu Ambiance theme.

It's a custom gtk.css file inside the .config/gtk4.0 folder in the home directory.

It's still a work in progress and still some kilometers, miles or other units from perfection.

To get the GNOME shell top bar to show the old Ambiance colors I use the Gradient Top Bar extension, I threw in a fun extension, the Activate Gnome extension.

I'm using the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" default wallpaper I added to the gallery and I use the Ubuntu Mono Dark icon set.
