First Linux rice! Void + KDE

[u/NiceFlatworm6336]

Nothing super crazy. This is on a Panasonic SV1, my primary laptop for school/coding. Yes, it’s crying a little bit, it’ll be okay tho (:

I’m totally new to everything but I really enjoyed messing around with this! I was largely inspired by a different popular rice that made rounds and was Evangelion themed. I built on that and made this my own thing, plus added a hyprland-esque activity transition desktop effect (custom). Forgot to show the dock/panel, sorry! It is hidden by default and shows on mouseover on the bottom of the screen.

For some reason this recording seems to lag and jump some of the aforementioned desktop effect. In real time it looks cooler ;<

I’m larping and lowkey not even into P3 that much, I just liked the wallpapers and character design. Also I heard blue psychologically makes you not want to kermit as much and I got depression so. Yeah. LOL

ANYWAYS hope yall enjoy this as much as I do. It makes my eyes very happy.

How the Hell is this KDE

[u/NiceFlatworm6336 → u/Blackbird028]

Everything is base KDE except for the custom desktop effect I made for this. I’m not confident in the code yet to post it, but if enough people like it I’ll consider it. It needs fine tuning so I’m kinda embarrassed LOL

Gonna take a shot in the dark and say claude code lol

[u/NiceFlatworm6336 → u/of_the_mist]

Not quite but fair assumption xD I wrote what I could until I got lost with some parts (mainly researching what could be done with KDE and how due to the activity vs desktop difference). Toward the end it really stumped me, I could explain it more in detail but TLDR it was harder than I thought haha

Seeing a rice that is not just another hyperland + noctalia edit is so refreshing, this looks good

[u/NiceFlatworm6336 → u/hagdush]

Thank you sm! Yeah I agree, I like all rice builds in the end bc they’re creative, but I do wish I saw more variance. I tried to keep it more lowkey while still having fun (:

[u/KnnthKnnth]

Holy shit this is awesome 😭

[u/NiceFlatworm6336 → u/KnnthKnnth]

[u/PiKuSen27 → u/LifeCover6144]

[u/LifeCover6144 → u/PiKuSen27]

[u/blue_dude2000]

[u/NiceFlatworm6336 → u/blue_dude2000]
