Like oregairu. Mc is very cynical/pragmatic/distrustful. He/she slowly interacts with others and grows.

Must have romance. No harem

Thanks (^^)

I am looking for series that focuses on the mc’s self improvement journey! I don’t care if it’s fantas, modern, system, cultivation or vanilla! I just want a feel good read where the protagonist focuses on self improvement.

Something I've always wanted more of is harem stories that actually follow through instead of spending 15 volumes teasing different girls before the MC finally picks one.

Mushoku Tensei is probably my favourite example of how I'd like this handled. The relationships actually happen, the women feel like proper characters rather than trophies, and we get to see the consequences of the whole arrangement.

I'm curious if more light novels have been doing this recently. Especially ones where the MC gets into multiple relationships relatively early and the story actually explores them instead of saving everything for the ending.

Bonus points if they're completed. I'm tired of getting invested in stories that never finish.

I'm already aware of:

• Mushoku Tensei
• Black Summoner
• Magika no Kenshi to Shoukan Maou
• The Testament of Sister New Devil
• Arifureta
• Trapped in a Dating Sim

I saw the other day here that it's apparently getting an official English version, the cover art and description really got my attention but couldn't find anyone who reads Japanese version and speaks English views on it. Any input would be nice. (Characters, world, extant of the fantasy theme in it)

Is anyone interested in selling their Mushoku Tensei Light Novels? Ideally I’m looking for them to be in near new condition with white pages. I pay well. It’s been so hard trying to find all of the volumes that haven’t either been trashed and damaged, or scalped for absurdly high amounts.

pls if you know tell me where

In a corner of a continent, a kingdom was divided into seven major cities, each led by a princess who was supposedly the illegitimate children of the previous king. One of them, a nine-year old orphan, was chosen as the princess of Nanamiya Kasen. She was supported by the warrior General Ten Huo and his military strategist Toel Tau. She realizes that both of them are liars in varying magnitudes and their true intentions are unknown, but she went along with their plans as they cheerfully told her that the three of them will take over the entire kingdom. However, when she turned twelve, the neighboring city of Tsudumi began its invasion of Kasen.......

This is a story about a girl who is tossed about by the currents of fate, but who faces her own destiny with sincerity.

How far does the anime adapt? Is it good?

Also, how do you even read this? There are A and B volumes? What?

Is there a noble for The Exiled Reincarnated Heavy Knight Is Unrivaled in Game Knowledge?

Tbh I know illustrations aren't really the most important part of a light novel or anything but I'm tired of getting illustrations that either just straight up fan service or just random unimportant scene that often feels like they don't really need to be illustrated. Like I want some beautiful scenery to give me a more vivid picture of a location that's important to the story or an illustration that adds to an important scene and giving it more impact than could be made through words alone, basically I want a LN where the illustrations are an important part of the experience because it's something I rarely see in LNs.

Like most LNs don't have illustrations that are necessarily bad per say but at the same time I don't really find myself all that impressed by them either most of the time.

I’ve been reading ln for a while now and I’m a bit confused on what makes people consider a tl “bad.” Apart from weird naming, some typo, slow TL speed, and huge ass books, I really don’t know why people consider some TL’s “bad.” If someone could explain that would be helpful.

Finished the Apodia anime last month. Then read through LN 5 to 16 in a matter of 35 days. I havent done so much reading since ASOIAF series in around 2012 or so. Gemini says 850k words, but who is to say it's not hallucinating....

The series was brilliant. Very high quality writing; really loved the characters and dialogue, while the world building and cast of characters kept expanding with each volume instead of staying pretty much the same. The author Hyūganatsu-san sure is ambitious.

I would like to read other high level works like this. Not passable or good ones, I need great ones like this one.

I like medieval or modern settings. Not a big fan of scifi and its subgenres. Slice of life and romcoms are my main jam, court drama and fantasy is welcome.

Give me your best recommendations.
