Hi, I had a question. Can Librewolf somehow limit any specific extension's access only to given list of domains I want to allow? So far, Firefox can NOT do that (even though many users asked for for years).

For example, I want to whitelist SingleFile extension only for 5-6 domains, but SingleFile extension (like most other FF extensions) has access to ALL domains.
And SingleFile also INJECTS a bunch of scripts in ALL unused domains/websites visited, which is highly counter-productive waste of resources, plus a security/privacy issue (though I mostly trust SingleFile so far, but it's inefficiency and wasteful nonetheless).

[I know Chrome, Brave can whitelist extension's access to given domains, but I very much want to stick to Firefox, Librewolf as long as I can, instead of Chromium based ones].

I'm customizing LibreWolf using userChrome.css and userContent.css. Both stylesheets use colors from my current desktop theme, so whenever I change themes, I currently have to restart the browser.

I found a JavaScript snippet that reloads a stylesheet using Firefox's nsIStyleSheetService. It works for updating browser UI colors, but I have to execute it manually in the Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+J).

I have two questions:

Is there a way to reload userContent.css as well as userChrome.css without restarting the browser?

Is there a way to trigger the reload externally, for example with a Bash script, rather than manually running JavaScript in the Browser Console?

I've also looked into fx-config as a way to run JavaScript in the browser, but I'm concerned about its security implications.

I'd appreciate suggestions for a reliable approach or documentation on Firefox/LibreWolf's stylesheet-loading mechanisms.

As the title says, I'm recently having issues with saving pages as a pdf via the ctrl+p print menu. The in-browser preview looks fine, but when I actually open the file the font does not show up properly: it looks like some of the letters and words in specific lines are slightly cut off in the bottom part or sometimes in other parts like their right. This is not due to fixed elements in the page causing issues with glitches or overlapping; I have tried every settings possible and also confirmed it is a browser issue, not a pdf viewer one. I had no issues prior, and used this function for many months. Does anyone know what causes this or has any creative idea how to fix it?

Is it possible to remove the sidebar so that there's nothing on my right or left until I hover to the left?

I was finding out some playstore alternative to use for my device and I recently found out someone has made an Librewolf browser app for Android! I don't know if it's a fanbuild of the Normal librewolf but it's Awesome that someone has built one for Android.

However there are still some considerations especially when using this app on larger screens particularly a tablet, the UI kinda feels streched out. Anyways I'm glad I found out one!

Idk if I said some terms correctly. What do you think?

I've been using LW for the past week, and I have to say, it's exactly what I expected: Stock Firefox but more private, and I really like it. However, I have concerns regarding the future of this project. Now, it's pretty obvious that LW updates very fast with respect to stock FF right now, but do you guys think that will still be the case in 5, 6, 10 and maybe even 15 years? Using an outdated browser or one that is slow to update is surely a major risk regardless of the year. I'm asking this question because I don't think there's another Gecko browser as simply effective and balanced as LW and at the end of the day, it's still a somewhat niche FOSS browser maintained by a small team.

So I want a separate field for searching, not the address field. keyword.enabled is off so nothing I put into the address field is automatically fed into a search engine. Once in a while I look for a single word that, if you put "www." in front of it and ".com" at the end, it amounts to a legit address - I can't have that.

That's what the search field is for. So I do "Customize Toolbar" and drag & drop the search field onto the toolbar behind the address field - and it works, yay.

Until I close and re-open the browser. Right when opening the browser, I can see the search field for about 1/2 a second, then it vanishes! WTF.

This does not happen on all of my profiles, just a few of them.

I just moved some icon of an add-on around and that change survives closing and opening the browser. It's especially the search field.

Does anyone know this? Is there anything I can do to make LW not remove the search field from the address bar?

LibreWolf doesn’t have Google Safe Browsing, which is certainly better from a privacy standpoint. However, considering the need for protection against things like fake websites, I’m tempted to enable it—but I recall there being some issues, perhaps related to API keys? Are there any good alternatives or other ways to handle this?

LibreWolf hasn't alerted me to this update, yet it appeared on the installation page: https://librewolf.net/installation/macos/ . Weirdly, at first it displays the 158.0.1-1 text link, but then, within a second, it always changes to 158.0.1-2. I'm worried the Librewolf website may have been compromised using the PHP exploit that's doing the rounds. URLvoid doesn't pick up any problems, though.

Every time I try and listen to Spotify on LibreWolf it skips through 5-6 songs in as little as a second then say "Spotify can't be played right now".

I was looking around and i came across Librewolf as a browser, So I been using it now and I like it and I don't know how to test if it does what it says so i'm not sure on if it does what it says if it does why don't more people use it? It works well. I'm excited to have found this I just want to know why its not everywhere if its this good?

Hello, I've been very worried about the recent PHP vulnerability. It's been patched for firefox and waterfox from what i've seen so far, but whenever I check with librewolf using this website:

Half the certificates are still being trusted by Librewolf. I checked over the patches and tried to update, but this is the latest update and the certificates are still being trusted. Will Librewolf put out a patch to address the vulnerability soon?

EDIT: There was an update today and now every certificate no longer connects! Thank you Librewolf!

None of the tutorials I've found actually work. I don't care about Google not being good for privacy, I care about getting the search results I expect and duckduckgo does not do that for me, more often than not I search on DDG for a while for what I'm looking for then give up, paste the same query into Google and get it immediately. If DDG worked for me I'd happily use it, but it doesn't.

UPDATE - sorted :)
Since the last update (I think) Librewolf has shown this image on a lot of sites where videos should be. Not all - I can see youtube and a few other places, but no Facebook reels, no Instagram, and a different failure on a news site (didn't get details, didn't want the video anyway!)

Others aren't complaining about it so I don't think it's Meta's fault, but it could be a change that clashed with something to do with privacy or similar *shrug*

Also recently caught up with updates on the PC so maybe something there?

Fairly new to Librewolf having moved back to Linux based computing recently and changing just about everything I use, so any help welcomed!

I have multiple passkeys for the Financial Times website: ft.com.
When Iog onto that page LibreWolf offers up both passkeys.

I'm trying to delete them as I've heard they are some kind of trap.
I've used two AI engines and poked around the browser qutie a bit and can find no way to do this.

Can anyone help.

All AI engines suggest one of two things:
1. go to about:logins and delete them there.
Note: there is nothing there. no stored passwords and no indication that passkeys would be stored here.

1. Go to Settings\Passwords & Autofill\Manage Saved Passwords to delete them.
   This appears to be the same view as about:logins. There's nothing saved, but clearly they are installed in the browser as multiple passkeys are offered upon logging into the site.

Can anyone assist?

I've been using LibreWolf on and off, and it feels like I need to keep tweaking it. I appreciate the privacy first approach, which is why I'm here, but man it's getting annoying.

First, I couldn't send images on Telegram. They all come out as a stripey mess. I stopped blocking some site data or something and it worked.

I had to make a few other adjustments over a few months as I discover some site being broken by my refusal to give them any sort of info.

Most recently, I had to use Discord in browser, and it was completely unable to connect to voice chat.

So now I ask, what are the most problematic privacy options that I'm just going to have to compromise on to use the internet somewhat normally? And if I do disable those, is there no longer any benefit to using LibreWolf at all, and I should just go to Waterfox?

Speaking of which, off topic, but is there even any reason to use Waterfox over Firefox? Some say it's 3 toggles of difference, some say Firefox makes random UI changes when it updates that Waterfox skips over for you.

This is basically what I get instead of "play" button on primevideo. As a bonus - the whole tab "hangs" - even if I put a different address in the tab it refuses to leave the site..

I enabled DRM, ensured media.eme.mediadrm.origin-id.enabled=true in about:config.

Prime never asked for permission to play DRM-controlled content - so it is not on the list of exceptions in settings - but I cannot add sites to it manually, only if they request so.

Is there any way to fix this issue? I tried to disable Enhanced Protection, Fingerprinting, set the "fix minor issues" all at once - no change in behavior.

This is on Fedora.

Also: librewolf.overrides.cfg seems to be referenced here and there as a file for overrides - I don't have it in ~/.config/librewolf/librewolf/ Should I create an empty file myself?

I had all fingerprinting and letterboxing unchecked so I can size my window how I like. I always had, for years, my window kissing the top of the screen and kissing the taskbar- unmaximized. Now the window will not touch the taskbar like it has. I can stretch it to kiss the taskbar, but when I relaunch, it's back to this size- see picture. Something just happened and I can't figure it out. Nothing changed in my settings, unless I hit some keyboard shortcut by accident. How do I get it back? Thanks.

skin previews seem broken completely, even rotating them doesn't work normally, anyone know the cause?

I run it on arch linux on hyprland and yesterday downloads worked just fine. Today they dont. I tried disabling enhanced tracking protectipn for websites i download from and allowing em through ublock origin. Didnt work so i reinstalled librewolf and it still wont work.

I use Firefox for everyday things, and LibreWolf for admin tasks or banking. Is LibreWolf really safer than Firefox, even with its small development team?

For anyone who wants to change their default Libre Wolf browser icon, create a shortcut of the executable, and the right click it and select Properties and then Change Icon (Wiindows version). Drag that shortcut on your taskbar.

Hi all,

I've recently started using LibreWolf and noticed any time I open the browser I need to log back in to anything I was previously logged into (email, work portal, etc.).

I'm using Mac and made sure to tick the box to let LibreWolf remember my history and whatnot, but it's no use. I've got a password manager so logging back in isn't a problem, but it's annoying having to go through that process each time.

Any idea what's up with it?
