Brobbey back. Curiously I’m not feeling confident. Aaronson is a downgrade. Can’t see where the service is coming from for DCL. I’m also not a fan of Bijol. He’s too slow. We need Rodon back.

I stand by my comments after that terrible match, although I thought Bijol played well. I still think he’s slow though but he had a solid game.

This comment is being downvoted so hard, despite you being 100% correct with 45 mins of evidence. Didn’t even realise Aaronson was on the pitch, few bumbles at his feet and losing the ball, zero.

DCL had no service last game with Okafore and Stach on. Farke is right to rotate. And isn't it nice he has solid options.

Hopefully we can back to winning ways against an out of form team, good to see bijol back too.

u/lito9321 2d ago
Okafor and Stach have not played well so happy others get the chance just hoped one would have been Bahoya. Anyways hope Wilson shows up need him to provide some of last seasons form, Leeds desperately need some more attacking threats.

Ooh look! We've got our own Desperate Dan back. Hopefully he keeps Brian Brobbey quiet and out of the game.

Watching the Bournemouth match now, aren't we playing them next week? Uh oh.

Wilson needs to do something, he’s on thin ice. Can’t have your big attacking signing, in the peak of his career on large wages being a bench player. Get a goal or two and really force Okafor to match up.
JMB I’ve pretty much given up on, think it’s clear he’s this seasons Buonanotte, Spence etc.
Midfield is pretty light. Bijol back is cool.

u/PrimitiveFriend 2d ago
Thin ice? What are we going to do? Send him to the reserves when he isn’t even starting regularly?
1
u/Hbcuk97 2d ago
Obviously not, but it’s not a good position to be in.
Sure he’s not had a huge amount of minutes, but he’s not as unfairly down as JMB in this regard, and for a player signed for the here and now, you need to add input instantly. You can’t wait for players like that to kick into gear if you’re pumping wages into him and marketing him as the major attacking signing.

We’ve plenty of players under Farke that were signed that didn’t come into the side initially.
Tanaka, Bijol, Justin, Gruev.
Premature to write Bahoya off yet.

u/nd1online 2d ago
I am pretty sure the guy you replied to had writes off Justin and Bijol last year too

u/Zach-dalt 2d ago
Just a shame all of Wilson's starts have come with Aaronson on the other side
Rather than a faster and more physical option like Okafor (or Bahoya) to split attentions and compliment him

POV Amps has come round to collect his Gilmore Girls box set that you borrowed 18 months ago and never gave back, you've pretended you're not in but accidentally sneeze when you're looking through the spyhole.

Personally would have given Longstaff a start - he will be right up for it as a huge newcastle fan too (and he deserves a start)

u/Julius_Caboolius 2d ago
Would like to see Longstaff starting as well. This game seems like he was tailor made for it

Hope we see Bahoya get a run out

Maybe if we’re lucky he’ll come on for the last 10 seconds 🙄 not sure what the point was signing him if he’s never gonna get a chance

u/Ajax_Malone 2d ago
We all do. Look at Justin now, I’m pretty sure it took until December to see him consistently last year.

Ah fuck annoyed Brobbey back for them that guy is a monster - just stick Bijol on him all game please

Can’t wait for the day that Aaronson fucks off for good. Might as well start with 10 men
4
u/Justboy__ 2d ago
Bit harsh, he’s had some good moments for us even if we do need to improve that position
-4
u/s77w 2d ago
He’s wank and we need to stop pretending he’s not. The guy contributes absolutely fuck all and actively makes the team worse every time he plays

u/tgcleric 2d ago edited 2d ago
Hes not wank and people need to stop pretending hes not. 2nd most goal contributions last season and was essential to us being hard to beat - vital to the defense farke set up last season.
Hes had a bad start this season. Since I support this team, im gonna hope he does well rather than constantly call him shit.

Good luck saying that here, lots of Americans here nowadays who will defend him no matter what

u/HeAManToday 2d ago
Midfield looking a bit lightweight in an away fixture. Ampadu in for a big shift by the looks.

no elvedi is he injured?

u/time-of-nick 2d ago
Interesting choice. Maybe it's a tactical one because Bijol is great at marking strikers out the game
8
u/downfallndirtydeeds 2d ago
It won’t be tactical - no way Farke doesn’t want at least one centre back on the bench

Must be
Let’s hope there are no injuries to defenders or we could be forced into a change of shape

Evedi injured? Didnt see that reported by Farke
5
u/garybarlow0 2d ago
It wasn’t reported but he must be. Although with Brobbey back for them, might suit having Bijol

Picking Brendan in this wind is brave. Strong chance he ends up in the fucking upper tier after a strong gust of wind

u/Big-Dot-8493 2d ago
He has the most experience at this point, especially at Sunderland.
3
u/downfallndirtydeeds 2d ago
Yes he’s very experienced at not impacting games

Joint second on the team in G/A with Okafor last season. Maybe he can have another purple patch this year and contribute

Decent lineup bar Aaronson, concern that it is a slow attack, but we a couple rapid options off the bench that'll surely both be utilised with plenty of time to spare...
5
u/downfallndirtydeeds 2d ago
Honestly this is the game for Nmecha. The ball will be in the air constantly with this wind and there will be a lot of 50/50s for balls landing in unexpected areas
1
u/Zach-dalt 2d ago
For someone so big, Nmecha has always looked pretty poor in the air to me, but I'd love for him to pile the misery on these!
4
u/downfallndirtydeeds 2d ago
Nooooo he’s great in the air he just can’t take the ball down very well. Also I think we compare him to DCL who is one of the best in the world at winning aerial duels against his centre back
I love Nmecha - he is technically quite poor but he does unbalance the opponent as Marcelo would say because he’s good in duels
7
u/Big-Dot-8493 2d ago
Given the injury situation, I'm not mad at this.
I'm happy to see Stachafor on the bench

that lineup has me questioning my life choices before kickoff tbh. putting someone that light out there when its blowing a gale is just asking for trouble. and if we let o'nien run the show again im honestly done. just please dont make me regret staying up for this.
