Maintenance or repair Leather dye transfer
I have this years-old leather glasses case whose edges are now apparently bleeding its dye. The edges appear shiny and even simply pressing on them will stain me or any fabric.
Is there anything I can do to stop/set the dye properly? And are there any suggestions on cleaning out fabrics that have already been affected?

General Question Quick question
This was an early bag that I did. Please ignore the sewing… i was learning some new things about my machine. What I’m wondering is… Is there a way to finish the inside diameter of this handle? Ordinarily I would burnish something like this, but the cloth lining sits in between the two layers of leather and it’s fighting me on burnishing anything… I’m thinking about doing a binding, but I’m not sure if that will look worse. Any thoughts? The inside lining is canvas.

General Question What am I doing wrong?
This my first project with leather, I’ve been trying to stitch this but this keeps happening and the needles keeps getting stuck in between and I have to use pliers to pull it ( one of my needles broke because of this ) also in the beginning when I did a backstitch to secure it I made sure both sides were the same length but when I pulled them to make the stitch, the left thread became shorter than the right
I only managed to do a couple of stitches before the needle broke.
How can I undo this knot in the first pic? Should I just cut it or?
Any tips would be helpful
Thank you

Second project in the books. Olmo \ black pueblo field notes wallet/holder
Normally a black leather kind of guy, but bought some olmo Pueblo and decided to put it to use. I’ll be making a black one so I’ll most likely give this to someone I know. BTW, didn’t think there’d be much of a difference between 4mm and 5mm until I started stitching. Ooof.

General Question How Can I Flatten Out Old Guitar Straps?
I’ve got a bunch of 90s Levy’s leather guitar straps, they are brand new old stock (pic is only a small amount of them).. Problem is, most of these have been sitting in bins coiled up for 20-30+ years.
Looking to try to get them straightened out, so far just hanging them and letting gravity do the work. Any recommendations for how I could speed up the process? TIA 🙏

Finished product Project that glad to see leave 6 sheaths 3 knives (440c) all matching.
Hand made 3 matching 440c stainless steel knife and 6 sheaths. Did all the work from grinding to tempering and all the leather work. And pursed the resin grips. I can’t wait to never see these things again.

Snakeskin belts I made
Belts I made from calf leather, goat leather and rust dyed elaphe skin.
I started making belts this month, so feedback is welcome! I’m still figuring out the best settings for my sewing machine for this type of leather, so I’m not entirely happy with the stitching.

Beginner Question How to remove wrinkles and creases?
I cut the stitches out of an old handbag for practicing on. How do I best get rid of mishaped leather? Is there something faster than laying a flat board over it for awhile?

Installing rivets without special tool?
Looking to install rivets through corduroy/canvas and a home cut through leather for an accent piece on a hat.
I have a leatherworking mallet, and eyelet tools (hand tools + 4mm grommet pliers, but no interchangeable dies)
Wondering how I could install tiny rivets for accent details without any special tools

Making it stiff.
I want to make a knife/tool case out of nubuck for a chef friend. I want to give it structure so it doesn't flop around i when he's trying to use it. (Im also a chef, so I know the annoyance of having a big floppy knife roll or case and tryibg to get something out of it when it's busy and there is no space.)
So I've designed something that should make everything accessible without having to clear down a bunch of workspace.
I figure I could use something, strong, durable, flat, thin and rigid, leaving the leather plain where I want a hinge.
I have veladon, some poly reibforcement, and mounting board. But I don't think the formar are rigid enough, and I worry mounting board will break down over.
Also, I worry wood will just break.
Any advice on this?
Thanks.

General Question How can I get the pressed on lines on a watch strap?
For reference, the strap in the second picture is the one I want to get the desired look on. Could a warm to hot steel piece pressed hard on it give it that look?
