General Today Was A Good Day
Felt like Ice Cube today rolling around the Lansing/E. Lansing area.
Today definitely seemed kinda odd.
Rollin’ down E. Saginaw at 4:46pm. Everyone going 40. Using their blinkers. Stopping’ for reds.
Stopped off at Foster Community Center for early voting. In and out in 5 minutes. Rocked the hell out of the vote!
Drove on toward campus. Everyone going the speed limit. Even hit a 4-way stop on campus where a student was crossing and every car kept their proper order despite waiting for the student to cross. Next level stuff there!
More driving to the MAC. Hit two lights where people easily could have ran it but they stopped.
Damn! What’s going on Lansing? I feel like I jumped a time line and landed in an alternate Lansing.
Stay chill Lansing! Today was a good day!

🚨 MISSING CAT BONKIN 🚨
🚨 MISSING CAT — PLEASE HELP FIND BONKIN! 🚨
🐾 PLEASE SHARE AND CROSS-POST! 🐾
Bokin is missing, and we need our Lansing community’s help to bring him home safely!
Bokin got out of his apartment on the 2000 block of East Michigan Avenue in Lansing on Monday night, October 26.
She is a beautiful, light-colored cat with darker markings on her face, ears, and paws with rings around her tail. We are desperately hoping for her safe return.
❤️ HOW YOU CAN HELP:
🐱 If you live or work near East Michigan Avenue, please keep an eye out for Bonkin.
🔎 Check underneath porches, behind bushes, around garages, and in other quiet places where a frightened cat might hide.
📸 If you spot hher, please take a photo if possible and contact his family immediately. Please don’t chase him, as frightened cats may run.
📢 PLEASE SHARE AND CROSS-POST THIS MESSAGE! Especially to Lansing neighborhood groups, Eastside community pages, local lost-and-found pet groups, and anyone living or working near East Michigan Avenue.
📞 CONTACT ZOE OR HUNTER by responding here. Thank you.
Even if you don’t live nearby, sharing this post could help it reach the person who finds Bonkin.
❤️ Every share matters. Let’s help get Bokin home!

General Faded Glory. A Sign of the Times?
The flag above the Comerica Bank Building has been tattered for weeks now.
I hate having to commute downtown for literally no good reason, so I can spend at least 8 hours of my life doing what I could have done at home. And on top of the commute, all of us downtown workers are greeted with this ugliness.
Silver Bells is coming up in a month.
I emailed the property manager, but just wanted to see if anyone else knows how to get this flag retired. It is sad.
Symbolic and sad.

General Adult children of emotionally immature, abusive families
I created a space for those of us with emotionally immature, abusive families to connect in. So far, we have just under 50 that have joined. I want to make sure that anyone who may need this sort of community and connection has the chance to explore and check us out. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions.

General Dont trust the mail with your ballots!
I dont care who you are voting for, well, I do, but thats not the point here/ Please hand walk in your ballots, or use a dropbox. I have a piece of mail I mailed on 10/20, certified letter to a business, non election related. According to tracking, it's been sitting in a distribution center for a week. I called to follow up, and all I can be told is "we are experiencing processing delays due to work being done on production centers"
This is an in state piece of mail, and it's now "officially" just been sitting 2 hours away from Lansing, due to "work being done on processing centers"

Sportscaster slurring speech
I don’t usually pay attention to the news when my husband’s got it on, but Fred Heumann was slurring his speech pretty badly tonight. When I mentioned it, my husband said he was stumbling over words, too. Anyone else notice this? I know there rumors in the past but I had never noticed anything before.

What do do between Detroit and Lansing?
Will be flying into Detroit and looking for some smaller things to do for a few hours as we make the drive to Lansing.
Any must do or must see things to do that’s not totally out of the way?

Photography It has been the epitome of “fall” this year.
It has been perfect temps lately and other variables in climate that i cannot explain but can feel and know the difference in comparison to previous years. Now we just need it not to rain on halloween.

Personal Places to consistently hoop indoors.
I am out of shape and 30 years old and trying to get back in shape, I played basketball my whole childhood and kinda fell out of it when my life got busy in my 20’s. Now I’m looking to get back to playing consistently and my wife’s child (so my kid as well, just trying to explain that I did not have him when I was 14 lol) is 16 and just starting to want to play basketball. So I’m looking for someplace that has runs somewhat consistently and will be okay with someone just learning the game, he’s very obsessed with playing but he is not very good and would like play for his school team even though it would be difficult to do. I let him know how hard that would be to make a high school varsity team while just learning how to play but he has decided he wants to try! Looking for anywhere that hosts like weekly open gyms, that would be great!

Was at the end of my run today and thought some parts of downtown looked kinda cool. Also gave me an excuse to sandbag in that last mile.

I’ve seen some crazy driving in the Lansing area
But a couple hours ago I saw the most insane driver of all time that nearly caused 5 or 6 head on collisions on Holt Rd heading toward Waverly Rd
I was driving down Holt Rd just past the high school, I was stuck behind a gravel truck going about 5-10mph below the speed limit. There were 4-5 cars behind me, one guy a few cars back could not be bothered so decided to pass everyone including the gravel truck.
Well you see the problem with this is that there was lots of oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. The guy didn’t seem to comprehend this and caused several cars to swerve off the road to avoid getting into a head on collision. I will give the guy props, when the guy got to the light at Holt and Waverly he did use his blinker to turn right.
