Academics Has anyone done an override request form?

I’m a grad student pursuing a triple degree in Master’s of Library & Information science and two grad certificates in Archival Studies and Records & Information Management. I’m supposed to graduate next May.

Course registration opened last Monday at midnight. I wasn’t awake at that time. When I went on Workday to register for courses, LIS 7505 (a required class for the Records Management certificate) already filled up. I obviously panicked.

There were only two course offerings for the class in Spring 2 (I’m an online student where they split the semesters in half) and only one of those offerings had the professor’s name. I emailed her my situation and asked her if there was any way she could fit me in her course. She sent me the override request form and said she would approve it, but the administration also needs to approve it. I filled out the form and reached out to the academic coordinator. She said she would let me know when they have more information on my form. I gave them a few business days and followed up this morning. She said it takes some time for the offices to go through the forms and that she would let me know when it was done.

Classes shouldn’t fill up that fast and there shouldn’t be such few openings. There’s more than 40 students in my program and this is a required course.

Has anyone done this form? If so, how did it work out for you?

Discussion Help into Senior College

Hi! I'm currently trying to get into LSU's College of Human Sciences & Education (HSE), but I'm missing one requirement, which is my trigonometry credit.

LSU is wanting to switch my major to Interdisciplinary Studies because I haven't completed that requirement yet. I was originally planning on taking trig over the winter intersession to get it out of the way, but it's not showing up as an available course.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or know what my options are? Is there any way to stay in my intended major while I finish this last requirement? Could I take trig somewhere else over winter break and transfer the credit?

I'm just really stressed because I'm so close to meeting the requirements, and I don't want to have to change my major over one class when I am set to graduate next December if everything else goes well.

Other masters funding/aid

hi there!

I'm in my junior year of my psych & social work undergrad, starting to work on gathering info and pieces for the lsu counseling & mental health masters program.

I want to go to LSU, but i'm wondering about funding. from what i understand, the masters assistantships are first come first serve on whatever is open after the phd students have their own positions secured. is there any other aid that is offered??? Like merit or need??? because it's first come first serve, i understand that it's competitive.

Hoping to hear some success stories from others!!!
