Tutoring Decision
Hi everyone, I'm looking to prep for the Feb 2027 test and am seeking tutor options as self-directed studying hasn't yielded me any positive results thus far. I'm based in RI and am not necessarily opposed to online tutoring as long as it is reputable. I had a tutor through Varsity Tutors for the last time that I tested which was around one hour every week or two weeks for around two months. I did not have success with this tutor as their approach did not work well for me. Does anyone have any reputable, reliable online options or in-person suggestions for RI (or even MA)?
Thank you!

What went wrong with the Varsity tutor? That'll help narrow down recs.

Varsity Tutors is a gamble, they just throw anyone with a pulse and a decent score at you. For online I'd look for someone who actually teaches LSAT full time, not a law student doing it on the side. The good ones are usually booked a bit in advance so starting now for February is smart.
I never had luck with tutors who just watch you do problems in silence, you want someone who breaks down your thought process and shows where you're going wrong.

I've been tutoring the LAST for 10 years (and law school for eight, bar exam going on six), and have been an educator in various capacities for 20 years. Also a T14 grad and former BL litigator, for what that's worth, and a full-time tutor since 2022. You can schedule a free consult with me here if you'd like:

There’s no reason for you to know this, but varsity tutors is just a staffing service that doesn’t really screen their tutors.
Find one here, including me. Shop around. A lot of us are independent and have been teaching this for a very long time and don’t need to mess with varsity tutors.
