Note that this post is for discussion of r/lego itself. If you have a general question about something related to Lego, make a post instead of asking here.

It's October already!

SpOOky season has begun! Or as some Lego fans like to call it, "MOCtober" is here. This is my favorite time of year to build, because it means getting out the Halloween sets and starting those pre-build plans for the Winter Village. Autumn is also a great time to attend Lego shows, so check out your local Lego Groups to see if they are participating in a Convention, Festival or Hobby Show nearby.

Let us know what's on your mind this month. What have you always wondered about? What rule do you want clarified, or changed? Do you have any suggestions you've been trying to find a chance to make? I won't promise that we will make the change(s) you want, but I will commit to explaining the reason we have the rules and policies we have.

To mark such a special occasion, I decided to build the IMC Phantom. https://titanfall.fandom.com/wiki/Phantom

This project is based on concept art created by Danny Gardner

https://dannygardner.artstation.com/projects/8OlN6

I’d also like to give special thanks to the following users, whose posts provided particularly useful references and inspiration:

🔸 u/microwave1236 for their visualization of the flying Phantom in Trailmakers:

🔸 u/Used-Ad-1759 for their post The Phantom (Titanfall 2 ship re-creation):

‐---------------------------------------------------------------

🔸 u/Bravo-Tango_7274 for their post Lore of the IMC Goblin Dropship/Gunship. This is where I found the cockpit interior reference that I used for the project:

🔸 u/IVIuggle for his Lego Scissor Lift MOC and the accompanying instructions they provided. It was very useful during the construction of the landing gear.

Modified Houston, we’ve found something strange at the landing site that wasn’t there before…

MOC Update: I tried your advice for the curved road between Goldshire and Stormwind

Hi everyone!

A couple of months ago I asked how you would build a curved, natural-looking road over uneven terrain. Thanks to everyone who answered, your comments were really useful. I've added the road to the build, and thank you all for that.

Here is the result: the road now follows the slope, curves between the village and the towers, and blends into the terrain instead of looking like a flat strip. The last photo shows the complete MOC once finished.

What I did: there's no single trick, it's a mix of all the techniques you suggested. I took a bit from each comment and combined them.

Still not 100% happy with the transition near the top, so I'd love to hear what you think and what you would change.

Quick note: some of the photos are screenshots taken from a video, so they're a bit soft. I'll take proper photos once the section is finished.

English isn't my first language, so I used an AI tool to translate this post

I finally found the Arkham set I got it from a close friend. It was a bit steep in pricing, but I needed it for my mini Gotham city. I was just impossible for me not to get it.

MOC A really silly creation: "Baba Yaga's Beater"

Thumbnail

What's more silly than a moving wooden cabin? Well, a moving wooden cabin on a 1930's truck!

I dubbed it "Baba Yaga's Beater" in want of a better name. I thought it was kinda fitting, as Baba Yaga has a walking cabin. Perhaps she upgraded her cabin in the 1930's to a motorized version? Who knows. If you've got any better suggestions to what I can call this bizarre creation, I'm more than happy to hear them.

I wanted to make a cabin on wheels as a way to explore how to make a traditional wooden house with vertically standing siding and a shingle roof.

I think I might have developed a completely new way to make standing siding, as I don't think I've ever seen anyone using the same technique.

I have also developed an ingenious way of making gables, rakes and roof ridges.

Lately I've been hooked on making good looking cars from the 30's and wacky hot rods, but I think I'm slowly easing into architecture again. This might actually be my first step back to making houses and large buildings. I used to design buildings in LEGO Digital Designer back in the day (Probably more than 15 years ago by now)

I know that this is a really kooky creation, but this has mainly been a quick project to explore some new building techniques.

Let me know if you want me to make more buildings in the future, or if you prefer old cars and wacky hot rods.

I would love to get feedback from you guys!

LOVE

Meesayousa

This build was made for my LUG's, oops, I mean "Fan CoLab's" monthly build contest which was to make your own "Happy Plant" type of build.

I had fun trying to come up with a theme for these guys while also keeping them (mostly) monochrome. You can find more of my builds on my Instagram.

I added a 3rd floor to the X-Mansion and it improved it greatly imo.

My favorite is definitely the bugle.

I just wish I had enough space to put the bugle antenna.
