Parking in central leamington spa?

Hi, I'm visiting a mate this weekend in Leamington Spa and wanted to know what sort of parking would be available (overnight preferably). It's been pretty hard to find this sort of thing from google, so thanks for any help.

19m just looking for some mates tbh

Hey all! I am from the outskirts of south Rugby and very close to Leamington so felt like I would post here tbh.

Would love to get to meet some new people, especially as I don't go out that much rn and would love to find some community and just be authentic with some people. I am incredibly into music and collecting CDs/Records from pop punk, death/black/melodic type metal, indie pop, synth pop pretty much a wide array of genres but I would say I am pretty alt and I haven't been to many concerts in my life been a little bit sheltered so would love to check out more bands with some people and share music, I also produce music in my free time, going out to the pub and just having a fun time really I love a good pub crawl often as I am quite a social drunk, philosophy and just history as a whole is very meaningful to me and it I borderline hyper fixate on, some sports like darts/footie, sometimes gaming & coding but I dress fairly alt but just have pretty much no mates at the moment after leaving sixth form which was a bit of a waste of time

I am quite open minded to checking out some new hobbies you may be into also and just really deep down wanna meet some actual mates in life and just have a laugh with some sound people and hang out, anyone can dm pretty much I quite like a variety of friends.

If interested give me a message on here or any other platform if you'd prefer! many thanks all

Looking for new friends

Hello, I am 48M. Moved to Leamington to be with my partner last year but have gotten to that age where friends seem to of disappeared and would like to meet some new people locally.

I am into fitness - gym, run, pilates and walking/hiking, I work from home in IT so into tech and have two dogs. Not a drinker but don’t mind going to the pub to watch sport (Rugby/Football), play pool or grab some food.

Get in touch if anyone is the same boat, with similar interests!

Cheers

Jamie

Meetups age 30-40s

Hello,
My husband and I (both working professionals) have recently moved to Leamington from London and we're looking to make new friends/build a small community locally.
We're not big drinkers but love coffee, finding cool food spots (both veggies!) walks, board games, dogs (but no pets yet) and generally open to exploring new activities in town.
Feels a little awkward trying to make new connections at this stage of our lives but as it's looking like we're gonna be based in Leamington spa for a while now we thought it would be fun to see if there are any other couples around our age with similar interests (or not!)
Feel free to DM :)

Anyone commuting to London for work?

I live in Warwick and need to start commuting to London for work 3 days a week and was wondering if anyone is doing this by car and has an extra seat?

The train prices are ridiculous and I’m happy to contribute towards fuel for a fair price.

Thank you! 😊

Read the rules, and its apparently ok to advertise free events.

Tomorrow night (weds 21st). Is pints and pencils night. At Oak House on Upper Holly Walk. Just bring yourselves and whatver you like to draw with. Or anything creative really. Also, drawing is optional, you can just come and chill.

Should be fun!

Third spaces and creative social groups for people over 40 in Leamington?

Quick background - I'm 54 (male), been in Leamington for last 5 years' after being in London for 30 years. I divorced 2 years ago and found myself not knowing anyone in Leamington spa, after having a wide social circle in London.

I work in Video games development remotely, I am pretty active and naturally social, and have a pile of creative hobbies (film collecting, music production etc) BUT don't just see anything on meet up catering to my age group, sex, or even my creative hobbies in Leamington?

I know older guys are infamous for not naturally 'hanging out' and id love to break that cliché with some like minds.

Any suggestions before I consider moving from Leamington next year to be nearer friends. It's a lovely town and it would be great fun to find a creative community here and not have to move?

Soon I may move to Leamington Spa. Can anyone share with me what it’s like to live there?

So soon I may move to Warwickshire particularly Leamington Spa for purposes of work and to run a tour operation on GetYourGuide .

If you have been a prolonged resident there can you give me the pros and cons of it. To many visitors they like the historic vibes this place offers.

I see it as a place for international tourists to explore Shakespeare, not just in Leamington but Stratford Upon Avon close by . The castles are impressive both Warwick and Kenilworth castle with the Elizabethan gardens.

A mix of different historic vibes in surrounding areas and great restaurant cuisine .

As everywhere has its good and bad bits of living I love to demystify them.

Any leads on stores selling proper MX/Enduro gear in Leamington Spa?

Thumbnail gallery

I've been looking for a decent pair of motocross boots for a while now, but haven't had much luck finding stores that stock proper MX/enduro gear. Most of what I've come across on Amazon is basic stuff with pretty poor reviews.

I'm specifically looking for proper MX boots, but leads on stores stocking other enduro/off-road riding gear would be great too. Preferably somewhere I can visit in person and check things out.

If you know any stores or dealers around Leamington Spa (or nearby) that stock brands like Alpinestars, Fox, Leatt, Gaerne, Sidi, O'Neal, etc., please drop their names below!

Any help or recommendations would be massively appreciated. 🙏🏼

Images for reference.

Any Slavic people around Warwick/Leamington?

Hii I’m 24F, Ukrainian-Canadian and moving to Warwick very soon! I’m a medical student and got placed at Warwick Hospital for my clinical years, so this will be my new home! ))

Since moving to the UK I feel like I’ve kind of lost part of myself and I really miss being around Slavic culture and people from a similar background. Back home I used to go to cultural festivals and events and was just around people from the same culture a lot more. I especially miss celebrating holidays together and just having that little sense of home. Definitely doesn’t have to be Ukrainian or Russian btw, I’d love to meet anyone Slavic/Eastern European in general!

I’m completely new to the area and won’t really know anyone when I move! I’m honestly down for pretty much anything. I don’t mind about gender or age either, so feel free to comment or message

I grew up in Canada so English is my first language, but my family mostly speaks Russian/Surzhyk at home, and I can understand Ukrainian fine too!

Beginner Learning French - Looking for French friends or casual meetup groups in Leamington/Warwick area.

M, late 40s here. I started learning French a few months ago; I studied a little in school but had forgotten most of it, but now in slightly later life I find I very much enjoy it. I'm using the usual methods - Duolingo, Youtube vids, online resources etc...

However I have no one to practice with that is a native French speaker, and I know my pronunciation is awful. None of the apps seem to care, they are like "that's great" and carry on!

I have looked for local French courses but there is nothing at an evening or weekend in this area. Everything is in the daytime and I work full time (game dev!).

Bit of a long shot, but is there anyone with a French background that might be willing to make a new friend and hang out and have some patience while I try a few little sentences? Or alternatively know of any French learning groups that meet at convenient times?

Thanks in advance & merci d'avance! :-)

Where to walk a marathon?

I've recently had this idea that I want to walk a marathon - not part of an organised marathon, just going out for a day and walking 26.2 miles.

Wondering whether anyone had any recommendations for good routes or starting points?

I live near Warwick so starting point near there would be good. A loop would be good but it can also just be in one direction as I can get picked up.

I was thinking of just walking to Birmingham, but not sure how possible that is/whether the walk would be that nice?

Other option id thought of would be something along the Grand Union canal.

Structure below Mill Bridge Weir?

The Leam is unusually clear today, meaning you can see lots of fish, and this foundation-like structure under the water by the Elephant Wash.

Anyone know what it is or was? Did the elephants wash in some kind of constructed pool?

Are people coming to Leamington specifically for the Spicy Librarian?

A weird thing I saw today, was an Instagram ad for Tavola, which announced itself as "Short walk from Jephson Gardens", "One minute from Spicy Librarian".

Does that mean Spicy Librarian is a big deal that's bringing visitors to the town specifically for that reason?

I must say, it seemed like an odd prospect when I heard about it - but whenever I pass it seems to be busy.

Thinking of moving to Leamington Spa

Hi everyone! I’ve had quite a few people recommend Leamington Spa to me as somewhere that would suit what I’m looking for, so I thought I’d ask people who actually live here for some advice!

I’m currently living in Milton Keynes and really unhappy here, so I’m thinking of moving this year. I previously lived in Liverpool city centre for 2 years and absolutely loved the feeling of living in the city centre, so I’m looking for something somewhat similar — somewhere with people around, cafés, restaurants, shops, parks and things happening nearby. I don’t care about nightlife, but I also don’t want somewhere super quiet, countryside or village-like.

I’m also looking for somewhere that feels relatively affluent, with a professional/established population, nice surroundings and a traditional English town feel.

I’ll be commuting to Buckingham for around a year, then I’ll be based around Warwick and riding regularly near Stratford-upon-Avon, so Leamington seems like it could be a really good location for me.

I’m looking for a 1-bed flat and I’m willing to pay more if the area/flat is worth it.

Which areas of Leamington would you recommend for someone like me? I’ve been looking particularly at the north side of the river — Clarendon Square, Milverton, St Mary’s, Binswood, Beauchamp Avenue etc. Are there any streets or apartment buildings I should specifically look at or avoid?
And what do you actually like/dislike about living in Leamington? I’d really appreciate any honest advice before I make the move!

St Mark's, St John's, St Paul's & Gurdwara Sahib (minus Parish Church, as I was stood on top of it). Really cool being able to go up there for the Heritage week, would recommend if anyone wants some good views.

Anyone else leave ridiculously early for work just to get parked?

Anyone else leave ridiculously early for work just to get parked?

Bit of an odd one, but I’m looking to speak to people from Leamington/ Warwick who regularly have to leave extra time in the morning purely because parking near work is unpredictable.

So, for example, maybe your drive is only 30 minutes but you leave 45 minutes or an hour just in case you can’t find a space. Or you end up circling around, parking miles away, or have still been late despite leaving early.

I work in PR and I’m helping with a story for YourParkingSpace about the extra time parking can add to people’s commute.

If this sounds like you and you’d be happy to have a quick chat about it, drop me a message. No pressure to take part in anything .... I’d just like to hear about your experience first.
