This is probably a common post, and I apologize if so. I did do some searches and didn't find exactly the kind of info I'm looking for.
I'm a senior level software engineer at a large US company. I spent a month working in KL earlier this year and decided I really want to try being there longer, like a year or two, or more?
Unfortunately my current employer said "no" when I proposed it, even though there is an office in KL.
So, I'm thinking I might resign from my job here in the US. I just need something to do while I'm in KL. I'm not even sure I want to stay in tech...I might rather not actually. I'm pretty tired of being in meetings talking about software and hardware.
I'm trying to think of what other options I can come up with. Maybe even volunteer (or nearly volunteer) options? Non-profits? Something maybe even a little bit "fun and rewarding"?
I guess the "Best" option would be to find a remote job in the US that doesn't care where I am. Maybe I can find some sort of "easy gig" that would be enough to "pay the bills".
Thoughts?
Edit:
I would ideally be living in Cyberjaya or Putrajaya areas
I’ve also seen the DE Rantau Nomad Pass. But I think in my case I would need to be a freelancer since I would not be coming in employed? But if I was in a position with a US company, working remote, and they don’t care where. I think that would then work?
There is also a “someone” that is the biggest reason I want to get back to KL.

Hey everyone! I'm travelling with 2 friends this weekend to KL for The Weeknd concert. I want to mainly know some food and experiences type stuff suggestions from local people
This is our itenary
So we have the whole day free on 31st and all evenings free after our sightseeing activities which we booked through an agency
But other than sightseeing, we wish to experience the city as locals if possible. Please suggest your favourite local food stops that we would consider visiting. Along with this if there are some experiences we should do then please let us know about that as well
We wish to make the most of this trip. Thank you so much in advance <333

Anyone going to the weeknd concert? I’m going solo and would love to meet some cool people there! Good music is even better with good company I’m in Section 231, Row C, so if you’re going too, let’s connect and make some memories.

I’ll be in KL next month and i’m looking for clubs or bars that I could go to and I’m looking for recommendations.
Do bars/clubs have like door charges or are there ones with free entrances?
Thanks!

27M, Persian, visiting from the UK, and heading to the 5 Seconds of Summer concert on the 17th.
Going solo at the moment, so thought I’d see if anyone else is going and wants to join! Just looking for good vibes, good company and a fun night concert, drinks/food beforehand, whatever really.
No pressure or expectations, just meet some cool people and enjoy the night. 😄
DM me if you're interested!
