What's the strangest or most terrifying legend from your part of Kerala?

Guys, does anybody have any info about how our state was before railways became a part of our transport, especially during the time when the railway lines were being set up in our state?

Whenever I travel by train, I think about how the places would have looked before the railway lines were laid along these routes.

Like, what was there before the tracks? What were these places like, and what changed when the railways came through?

Also, does anybody know any stories that their grandfather or grandmother told them about the time when the railway lines were being built or about how things were before the railways?

I'm looking for villages in Kerala that has greenery, clean water (if I dig a well), average decent people and less vehicles. You can know each other in about 3 months. Evening winds down noises and night is silent. People ask about each other and look out for each other (even if nosy). Mixed people in terms of religion or social norms are better.

• Which hospital/eye clinic did you go to, and how was your experience?
• What was the approximate cost (including consultation, pre-op tests, and post-op care)?
• Which procedure did you choose (PRK, Standard LASIK, Contoura, SMILE, etc.)?

At the outset, I'm a Tamil. And I've always believed that both the Tamil Nadu of today and the Keralam of today have equal claims over ancient Tamilakam

However, as Manoj Kuroor points out in this conversation with Manu Pillai, there appears to be a tendency to base the antiquity of Kerala around the 13-14th century, when Brahminical influence was at its highest, and Malayalam gradual diverged from Middle Tamil

This leads to the institutionalization of the Parashurama legend, and the gradual sidelining of the Sangam era Tamil heritage, to which Kerala is a rightful claimant

And in the process, many of Kerala's greats like Ilango Adigal, Paranar, Kapilar, Kulasekhara Azhwar etc have lied forgotten
