I live in an Olympus property in Katy, and, as I was exiting my parking lot and turning a corner, 2 kiddos on e-bikes went on either side of me. I was so shocked and figured my window wouldn’t roll down fast enough, so I honked my horn… and one of those kiddos was literally smiling about it.

I definitely do not want to go to jail or whatever over a stupid, stupid e-bike. Talk to your kiddos about, I don’t know, “on the road” behavior or even general respect. I don’t have the option to just not drive, but trust me, I wish I could just walk because that wasn’t even the first time within my complex. I’d seen one kiddo on a e-scooter, braked, scared, took a beat, got honked at from behind, started to get going again, and then some kiddo on an e-bike was in front of me. I’m lucky I saw them, and I hate that.

I’m mad and sad and scared. For the love of God, talk to your kiddos about respect and riding bikes - any kind of transportation, really - correctly.

I'm located towards 99 and West Park tollway, originally we used to take our 2 year old to Happy Chompers but boss lady didn't like that place. Any recommendations in the Katy/Richmond area? It doesn't have to be specifically in that area I'm just trying to find a permanent location. As you know at this age little one hates brushing his teeth, so it'll be nice having a dentist who's gentle and have patience.

Are there any open soccer fields in the area that I can train on? Preferably something that is free and not too busy. My usual times would be weekdays from 5-7pm and weekends 12-2pm.

Hey! We’re a couple in our early 40s and a number of our friends have moved further away, so regular meetups have gotten sparse and harder to coordinate.

We’d love to find a few other couples or friendly people who want something low-key and recurring.

Hosting a game- or dinner- night every month or two is back on our to-do list. We stick to pretty casual board games or group games that people can jump in and out of like Jackbox. Anything easy to pick up. Sometimes we will make burgers or fajitas, or people bring snacks.

TRF (Ren Fest), theater/musicals are at least once-a-year events for us.

Does anyone have recommendations for places where a kid could learn English riding?

Has anyone noticed that the traffic has been extra bad this week? It usually takes me 1hr 5 min, and it’s been taking me an extra 20-25 min to get home this week.

Update: It was not fixed when I returned but the Judge put me on the omissions list and I have now voted! Do not give up, they will and they want to help us cast our vote.

Just because the state portal says you’re registered doesn’t necessarily mean you’re 100% set at the local level.

​I just went to cast my ballot for the first time as a new citizen. I mailed in my registration well before the deadline, and the state site confirmed I was active.

Still, I had a gut feeling I should vote early rather than waiting until Election Day (always trust your gut!).

​It turns out that while my registration showed up in the state database, it hadn't fully cleared into the county system yet. Fortunately, the poll worker was super helpful and called county elections directly to get it sorted out. They said it would take a bit to process, so I’m heading back tomorrow to finish casting my ballot.

​If you’re a first-time voter or recently registered, take advantage of early voting! Going early gives you a safety net if there’s a glitch in the system.

​Quick tip: If you don’t have your physical voter card yet, look up your Voter Unique Identifier (VUID) online beforehand and write it down. Having that ready makes it so much faster for poll workers to look up your file and help you out.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Ongoing Noise Disturbances and Management’s Failure to Resolve Them
My experience living at Camber Ridge Apartments has been incredibly frustrating and has significantly affected my quality of life. I am sharing this review, along with actual email correspondence from management, so prospective residents can see how serious complaints have been handled.
For months, my household has experienced persistent disturbances from the apartment directly above us, including excessive stomping, heavy impacts, furniture dragging, loud music, and abrupt banging. These disturbances occur throughout the day and night, sometimes during designated quiet hours, and have repeatedly interrupted our sleep. The noise is frequently loud enough to be heard over our television.
I have made numerous complaints, provided recordings, contacted the courtesy officer, communicated extensively with management, and eventually involved the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
Perhaps the most concerning development occurred when a responding sheriff’s deputy informed me that the upstairs resident acknowledged intentionally creating noise. Management subsequently acknowledged awareness of this incident in writing but characterized it as an isolated reaction rather than sufficient evidence of an ongoing problem.
Despite months of complaints, documented correspondence, and repeated opportunities to address the situation, management has maintained that there is insufficient evidence to justify further corrective action or financial compensation.
I formally requested $5,145.75 in rent abatement due to the prolonged disturbances and their impact on our ability to comfortably enjoy our home. That request was denied.
What I find particularly disappointing is that management acknowledges having repeatedly contacted the upstairs residents, yet continues to characterize the disturbances as normal apartment living. Their responses have included recommendations such as using white noise and accepting the realities of multifamily housing.
There is a difference between ordinary apartment noise and persistent disturbances that repeatedly interfere with residents’ sleep and peaceful enjoyment of their home.
Beyond the noise, we have also experienced other concerns involving indoor humidity, air-conditioning performance, and water quality.
I understand that apartment living comes with some unavoidable noise. I do not expect complete silence. However, I do expect management to take meaningful steps when disturbances become persistent, disruptive, and potentially intentional.
I am attaching actual correspondence from management so prospective residents can evaluate their responses for themselves rather than simply relying on my account.
I encourage anyone considering Camber Ridge to carefully review how management handles ongoing resident concerns before committing to a lease.
My experience has left me extremely disappointed in both the living conditions and management’s approach to resolving serious complaints.
