Got the Boss Elite BE10ACP.WX head unit with all the iDatalink stuff to go with it. Pioneer TS-A879 3.5in in the dash. Pioneer TS-A6971F 6x9 in the doors. And a Kicker 51PTRPT12 for the sub. Some sound treatment in the doors. Started out just wanting to replace the factory paper speakers that were going bad. I’ve never did an install myself and am happy to find it not too difficult. The idatalink harnesses made it so I only needed to T-Tap the sub REM wire To an appropriate wire. Considering adding one of the mini Kicker amps at some point.

Can someone point me to where the 4 wheel drive module is on an American 2017 jeep renegade (non trailhawk)? I have read a bunch of different info about where it is including under the carpet of the driver side, and next to the rear differential, but have been unable to locate it. I checked around the diff and found the motor, under the carpet there is nothing unless I need to take off all the trim and pull the carpet out.

I have a u1767 code and I would like to check the connector for corrosion.

I have a question for renegade owners on here. Does anyone have the T4 Wide Screen from Renegade Ready? How is it and have you had any error codes pop up? I need to replace my original head unit since it is laminating in my Renegade Limited 2020 and I want to double check before purchasing.

P.S. I thought about an XTRONS, but I am leaning to the T4 Renegade Ready version instead.

I had to have my Jeep Renegade towed from my garage today. The towing company left dark black skid lines from the garage all the way through my driveway.

I have concerns about possible tire damage and powertrain damage now. Not to mention the garage and driveway cleanup. I now have to deal with.🤦🏻‍♀️

The dealership told me that they can’t put jeeps in neutral and it’s normal when you have a car towed for that(long skid marks) to occur.

The Jeep isn’t starting; that is why it had to be towed. I don’t believe the tires were moving when they pulled it out by the long chain court that is why I’m concerned about damage.

This is not my area of expertise so I would appreciate some input.

I'm dithering between a 2023 Altitude (Latitude with 18' rims and cosmetic) and a 2022 Trailhawk. I figure I'd put a Bilstein B8 Terrasport kit on the trailhawk (without lifing it any higher) if I got it.
I enjoy the tossable go-cart handling of the Altitude; but can't really try out the Trailhawk's handling because the dealership is in the middle of a city and there aren't any curves you can take at-speed.

AI tells me that the Trailhawks extra inch will sacrifice a lot of the fun handling I like on the Altitude. I'm curious if anyone else has opinions on handling of the mall-crawler vs a tralihawk with Bilsteins.

My poor car. I just bought it at 15k miles and it's been in the shop twice already. It's going on its 3rd week in the shop. This is my second renegade. I'm not here to spread the jeep hatred. I love my jeeps. I have two dealerships fighting over me because one thinks the car was in an accident with unauthorized at home repairs. The other insists it's still under warranty and that couldn't possibly be the problem. This whole problem is depressing me horribly. I just want my car back. I'm also sick of people telling me "oh, well you bought a jeep so these are the consequences." Jeeps are not bad cars and I will die on that hill.

This should be replaced annually, but it will cost you hundreds to get a shop to do it. I watched a 5-minute YouTube video and did it myself in 20 minutes. I had my 2018 Renegade for 3 years now, and I believe the filter had never been replaced. I bought a great charcoal one on Amazon for $9 and watched a 5 minute DIY video, and it was very low stress. You will need a Philips and a T25 Torx Screw Driver.

I recently bought my first Jeep renegade in August.

It's a 2017 1.6 diesel.

I've taken it to the shop twice because the engine warning light has come on and I'm going again this week because it's come on again… it's a solid light

The same guys I bought it off are fixing it for free.

At first they replaced the sensors as they were recalled and the battery connector was lose.

The second time they replaced the sensors again.

I left the car parked for two weeks while I was away. I checked the battery to see it that is what triggered it but it was all fine at 14v

I'm thinking it's a deeper routed issue. Any ideas? I'm going to buy a code reader but I'm wondering if I should just return it. I can't keep going back.

I have 2 chips close together from a quarter size rock dead center in front windshield. Glass guy looked at it and said bc of it being so close together it would be hard to chip fix. So he did when he came back ,said it went better than expected. It is noticeable to but he said the resin took so it would not crack further. After looking into the tech on these rene's rain sense, whipper heat, ( lane sense camera which i don't think i have that feature ) but requires calibration. Will the insurance try get cheep glass and not go with the much higher Mopar glass or should i just leave it after the so called chip fix. I only bought the jeep a year ago and still paying on it. What would you do ? Thx for any incite.

I have a 2015 Renegade Trail hawk. Passenger seat's seatbelt sensor went on the fritz and now the chime will constantly go off, even when no one is sitting there and/or the drivers side is plugged in.

Took it to the dealership for service since local shops seem to struggle with electronics. $300 for diagnostics and just got quoted a $1300 repair. Yikes.

Manager says they have to replace the buckle and replace the whole under-the-seat wiring. Unfortunately, doesn't seem like much of a DIY project but I would like it to be. Anyone have any suggestions or quick-fix ideas? I would love to just not hear a chime anytime I start driving my car.

My last post was about our jeep renegade serv 4wd light still on after a software update. I called the dealership and got the codes it threw while it was there, the first code was a stored code and the second one was the active one. Anyone know what these mean? My mechanic is unable to assist since jeep keeps their information on lockdown to keep you coming back to the dealership.

Hello everyone I just bought a 2018 Jeep Renegade Limited and I’m looking to kinda turn it into an Overlanding vehicle. Anyone know of any after market front bumpers that can carry a winch and a good after market rear bumper?!

Hey guys, hoping some fellow Renegade owners can help me out.

I recently started hearing a rattling/clunking noise from the front left when driving. Took my 2021 Latitude to a mechanic, and he came back with a catastrophic quote to replace the entire steering rack, both front lower control arms, and both sway bars.

The inner tie rod is shot which he believes is causing the noise. According to him, the inner tie rod can't be replaced separately on Renegades, so the entire steering rack needs to go. That'll cost over two grand on its own. Does anyone know if that's true?

I can see some wear and cracking on the rubber bushings but does that necessarily mean the entire parts need replacing?

I'm getting a second opinion because I'm not entirely confident in his diagnosis. If anyone has dealt with similar issues or has insight into these repairs, I'd appreciate it.

My girl is only five years old with 43k miles, and I just paid her off a few months ago. Really hoping I don't have to sink another $4k into her.

We have a 2018 jeep renegade latitude that’s only at 42,276 miles. The serv 4wd light first came on about a month ago then went back off after startup. It came on again and we took it to the mechanic and were told it needed a software update. Well yesterday we took it to the Jeep dealership and got the software update and it went off. Today as soon as we pulled out of the driveway it came back on. Any ideas what it could be or where to go from here. This is super frustrating considering the low mileage, we also just paid $800 to replace the thermostat a few months ago. TIA

Finally tracked down a Renegade with zero electrical issues. No radio glitches, no service 4WD warnings, and the battery hasn't died once in 24 hours.

Project car that my daughter is learning on looks good inside and out and I just got done changing every part I could under the hood and a complete suspension overhaul - now that she's drove it 500 miles she's good enough at driving to have the radio on and it's so bad that she pulls over to be safe to operate her phone with it.

Coming from a 2018 Rene latitude I am really enjoying my 2023 limited. The park assist is awesome, leather seats are comfy, and the 1.3 l turbocharged engine is responsive. I’m very thrilled with my purchase. Only had 25k miles when I bought her. Will be adding the ladder in the spring and a rack up top for camping. Def need to tint the windows. Anyone else have a 2023 limited? What has are you using? The manual says 87 or 91 and there’s a lot of chatter about how 91 is better on hot days and for towing. Never had a turbocharged engine so unsure what the correct move is. I live in Michigan and don’t tow anything until i get a hitch installed and even then it’s just for the bike rack.
