You mean a few weeks of failed coalition building before repeat elections?

Keeps all the discussion together instead of a flood of posts with no comments

Or the same article submitted ten times

RAK BENNETT. Sorry, that wasn't an endorsement. That's what plays in my head every time someone says the word elections.

Israelis flying in from overseas to vote--how many? has anybody seen any actual numbers?

There was talk a month or two ago of chartering special flights for the huge number of people who will come home to vote. And there was talk of fully booked El Al flights.

Well, those planes ought to be landing right now at Ben Gurion, or within the next 15 hours or so.. Has anybody seen any actual numbers?

(I'm posting this on Sunday night, 36 hours before the polls open.)

Yeah, That's what was said....but I can't believe it (unfortunately).

80,000 people would fill up 400 planes. Google says that Ben Gurion can handle a maximum of 300 incoming flights per day.

So 80,000 additional passengers seems like the math doesnt quite work. (Of course, the 80,000 wont all  arrive the same day, but it still seems like a huge increase in traffic, and we would have heard about it in the news.

I want something:

  • Good diplomatically and understands the importance of optics.

  • Strong on economy (also cost of living)

  • Reasonable ideas for a long term solution to the chareidim enlistment problem (not just "make it legal to throw them in jail raaawr and cut their funding"...all fair but force won't work well...)

  • Strong on security

  • Not Bibi (20+ years is enough... time to retire)

Ideas?

Probably Eisenkott or Bennet tbh

No candidate will fulfill all your fantasies. I think it's also important for the Haredim not just enlistment but also educational reforms and workforce contribution. I'm done subsidizing their lives.

The other thing for me specifically is settlement expansion in J&S, but i think I'll have to let go of this one. But if that were important enough to you you might shift left to Golan. I think I am going Bennet for the balance on this issue specifically along with the other issues mentioned.

Bennett is likely to push for settlements.

I was thinking either Bennet or Eisenkott, but like Yair Golan, too. :/

Regardless of who you're voting for, can we all agree it's wild that the votes for the change bloc spell "only the way of truth" (רק ל דרך אמת)?

One of the reasons I decided to take the time and work as Mazkir Vaadat Kalpi (which includes training and hassle) is that I believe the knowledge will be useful for another day of working (or more) in a polling station this year, just like in 2019
