Thanks to everyone who showed up, sent emails, or helped spread the word!

The contract had already been renewed (via consent agenda) for two years a few months ago, but city council voted not to appropriate funds for the next budget year. This will let them exit the contract.

If you're not yet on DeFlock Discord, come say hi — there is an Iowa channel that needs more life so we can keep the pressure on, and the get mass surveillance out: https://discord.gg/4f9uAATg7

The school district already sold its old admin building to Iowa City for its new police station (cost: $3.2 million). Why not sell the “center for innovation” to the county for a new sheriff’s office?

Not mine. This county is full of creative thinkers.

Thought this was a nice representation of Iowa City, and with barely a mention of the university.

Found an iPhone last night in the northside. It says the name is David Ernst 48 yrs old in the emergency contact info.

I tried to call the emergency contact but it doesn’t go through.

If you know him please direct him here and I can give my phone number.

I have lost my phone before want to make sure this gets back to the proper owner!

Change is coming!

The half young chicken + sweet fire glaze from the new fry place in coral ridge mall is very close to KFC. That's it, that's my PSA. I do wish it was cheaper, but I close my eyes and imagine it's LA.

You gave me a whole strip of Halloween stickers and made my night. The cake I was buying after work was to celebrate my dead dad’s birthday tomorrow. You made my night a whole bunch brighter and I can’t wait to use the stickers and eat the cake. Just thought I’d say thanks in case you lurk in this sub❤️

Looking for 2 bedroom apartments not too crazy expensive but still nice. Was looking at the nest any help?

Some assholes just destroyed everyone’s commute if this doesn’t get cleaned up in ten mins or less. Avoid like the plague if you can

I was on my way to HuHot after visiting a friend in the DSM area and I noticed that this one car in particular would NOT leave my proximity. All the way from the Altoona area to the IC Corridor.

Just riding my ass and trying to get my attention. They had Johnson county plates, so hopefully they'll see this and reflect on their creepy behavior..but my God..I was terrified. I had to take a detour to my destination, I had never experienced a panic attack like that in my life. I had to give them a smile, just out of fear to relax my nerves..

Two weeks ago, North Liberty tabled its discussion of Flock so someone could go find and look at the contract NLPD signed back in 2024. It's coming back tomorrow.

The city attorney has determined that the city can exit the contract by not appropriating the funds for next year.

Let's show up, pack the room, and encourage that decision. We don't need Flock, or police, to keep a searchable records of our lives.

I’ve noticed the go vote posters all around town. I think they got put up over the weekend. And already I’ve seen a handful of them torn off or attempted to be removed. Which sucks on its own part. But then I’d seen some city worker power washing one off a bus stop on Mormon Trek. Only to later see that he left all of the now removed poster all over the grass. Damn shame to have Iowa city preach progression yet remove posters that should definitely be seen by students and young adults. Also GO VOTE!!!!

Hello!

I am a freshman at uiowa right now and getting an apartment that doesn’t offer parking next year. I live about 3 1/2 hours from iowa city so it would be nice to have a car to be able to drive home or somewhere outside of iowa city for work.

I just got put on the waitlist for the court street ramp and the harrison street ramp. My waitlist numbers are 190 and 217.

Does anyone know if there is any chance of me getting a spot for the 2027 school year?

If no, please let me know of any other places to park my car or if you’re renting a spot out!

Hi I’m looking for a interesting niche story about a athlete or even a member of a rec sports club at university of Iowa. What interesting story’s are there in uiowa ?
