opinion post IQ scaling
Intuition scaling goes brrr, this post is for entertainment.
This are lowball iq
Also, the IQ is scales based on performance not by raw/natural intelligence, otherwise Lynch and Fang Yuan won't be that high
The images are in my own scaling(strict scaling)
This ones below are for Proven Ability
Light Yagami: 130 IQ
Lynch: 143 IQ
Akiyama Shinichi: 150 IQ
Ukai Zero: 155 IQ
Lin Sizhi: 155 IQ(Solving complex counter-intuitive games, game theory stuff, side characters aren't actually dumb and doesn't always follow the script😱)
Senku: 160 IQ(Time machine feat isn't included because there's no explanations, besides that there's enough evidences for an IQ of 160 or probably a bit lower. He can do maths that I don't understand so quickly in his head, also he isn't just a knowledge merchant since learning all that and the ideas he has as a child at least makes him a genius. He also counted how many seconds??? While petrified)
Fang Yuan(no wisdom attainments): 180 IQ
(Imagine being able to chunk information so much that you can recall various events and information within 500 years of memory, where mostly each year would greatly surpass the average person's 10 years of life in terms of sheer amount of significant information)
Ayanokouji Kiyotaka: 180 IQ
Baku Madarame: 200+ IQ
(Let's be real. Playing Air Poker alone is such an unrealistic feat that you are guaranteed to at least have 200 IQ with this)
Zhuge Liang: 250+ IQ
Lin Ou: 290+ IQ
(Insane pattern recognition)
Ang Xiao: 400 IQ(Inhumane level planning which requires extremely sophisticated CPI, Cognitive Resources Allocation and FRI, )
Chen Ran 600 IQ+
(imagine being able to unravel extremely counter-intuitive problems in seconds and having such an insane pattern recognition. Also being able to visualize complex 3d objects up to micro-level to the point that you can manifest them into reality according to the rules behind No Distance)
Won't include Nobody and The Doctor because it's pointless to try and guess or estimate theirs because you know...

You have to realize some of these don’t make sense mathematically speaking. IQ isn’t just throwing a limitless number, it’s calculated out of population sample size, which is why most tests stop at 160 in SD15 which is like 1 in 100k+ because afterward the means to conduct it would be too egregious.
An IQ of 190-192 would already theoretically make you the person with the highest IQ on Earth period.
Everything above that like 200 or whatever is just sensational bullshit pulles out of someone’s ass who has no idea how IQ is calculated.
It’s also important to know that intelligence is so multilayered that IQ falls short sometimes, it is just a number based on some specific metrics. Maybe an incredibly brilliant person would score only a 140 because some of the categories he was evaluated on weren’t his best, yet some people could score 150+ but never reach the level of impact or genius of the 140 person, it’s possible and has already happened lmao (Richard Feynmann).
Someone like Grothendieck for example had such extreme abstract intelligence that an IQ test wouldn’t even truly measure the brightness of his mind. And yet he went crazy and started living like an ermite barely being able to properly assist himself. Some of those guys have profound genius on the mathematical and abstract field but are completely clueless on others. A guy like Galois was the kind of prodigy you only see on anime, yet he died like a dumbass at 20 years old for some chick.
So intelligence is way too profound and multilayered to only be associated with IQ, not only that IQ doesn’t take into account being cut throat, good leadership, manipulative, deceptive ect.
Now with all of that said if I were to rate your characters OP:
Light 145 definitely very gifted in everything
Akiyama 150
Ukai 150
Baku 180-190
Don’t know the Chinese ones, Koji I’ve only seen the anime for him he should be 150 range as well

Ayonokouji's IQ is probably 180+, higher than the theoretical possibility of IQs in humans. He was solving university level problems when he was like 8 which is a feat no human has ever done, so if you give him a verbal-quant iq test for adults he'd max it out as a kid. Light is probably in the ~150+ range, particularly in quant and verbal, considering he scored the highest with minimal effort on a competitive uni entrance exam. Most anime characters, particularly those who touch the academic sphere usually have IQs well over 160 with how absurd their feats are as kids.

Fair points but the math part is inaccurate. Reality doesn't follow pure mathematics and using that solely to calculate whether someone with extremely high IQ or not could exist is incredibly flawed reasoning as it implies linear multiplication of probability, something that doesn't actually reflect how the world operates. The reason IQ is inaccurate isn't because of the math aspect but because of the fact that intelligence is inherently qualitative as you put it in the rest of your comment and cannot fully be scaled through any metric

Light is not 145 in Methodology
Yeh I know everything you said there's no clear way to distinguish between an iq of 180 and an iq of 200+ in real psychology so I asked chatgpt for this. IQ isn't a good way to measure intelligence, yah I consider IQ as a useless category in my scaling matchups but someone asked me to do this
Ayanokouji is not 150 in Methodology either.

Bro, just use my method -> that is, assigning IQ numbers based on who's better in FSIQ and the relative gap between them. No need to care about any "populations" and allat, since we are measuring the character's brainpower.

Isn't there an actual person with a recorded IQ of 220+ (I think it's marylin savant or smtg)
Shudnt ppl like Akiyama, Senku, Baku and Ayanokoji surpass that??
3
u/Ancient-End2474 23d ago
They should in terms of narrative only
3
u/Murky_Possibility655 23d ago
I'd say atleast senku shud comfortably surpass that via his feats such as parallel processing ,His insane visualisations and he has pretty good Problem solving espescially with pretty high time constraints

u/Ancient-End2474 23d ago
Agree for Akiyama but I mean Baku faced the same things just on different type

u/EdogawaZoldyck 23d ago
No, IQs measured at SD15 don’t have tests that go beyond 160, so if you beat the tests you get 160 maximum with an annotation like « intelligence goes beyond the measures of the test ». Mathematically speaking, the highest IQ score you could get is 190-192.
Scores above 200 are either bullshit or tests with standard deviations of 24 used instead of 15, which are basically meaningless today.

Thats just so untrue what 😭

u/Ancient-End2474 23d ago
Which one?
Light? It's true. Read the description, this is strict scaling(strict Methodology) in which Light isn't even considered a genius in this scaling.
Every camera feat is invalid. PSI is also invalid so yah, best thing Light got was his schemes that convinced me to set his IQ at 120 in Methodology Scaling(Narrative Scaling would've been 160~180 probably but like that's not how I scale)

No me? 🥺
I also have high IQ, I can show you. Look look..
I have 4 fingers and T͖̜ͬḩ̷̛̝̦̣͉̠̫̥̟ͥ̀͗̏ͨ͑͜ͅ_̡͓̎ͦ̾̐ͮͯe̛̳̾ e_̛̛͓͖͍͓̤͎ͮ͗ͬ̓̓͡͡n̢̞̪͍͚̰̩̼̭̿ͧ̿ͭ̂͛ͮ̀͋͂ͤ̕͝t̶̶͎̗͎̫̣͕̲͚̦̞̺̜̞̿̏͂ͤ̇̈ͨ̎͌̑͒ͤ̽ͨ͌̈̓̓̐̇̕ï̧t_ͬ̕͜y ate 1,
how many do I have left? 3 fingers 😁☺️
See dad, I am good too.

This is somehow WAY worse than the original😭

u/Ancient-End2474 23d ago
How so? This seems accurate enough in terms Methodology.
There's no point in scaling them if terms of narrative because narrative always says beyond 180 something

Chen Yang and Yue Guanshan should be between Lin Ou and Chen Ran I guess. Idk about Qiu Yinong and Shu Renjun.
Hal and Lalo should be about the same level as Baku more or less.
Cai Zhiyuan a bit below Lin Sizhi imo. Qin Cheng and Yao Yuan are probably below both of them.
My underrated goat Tasuku from As the gods will should be pretty high. Around Akiyama I guess.

u/Ancient-End2474 23d ago
Tasuku's iq is confirmed to be at 150🗣️
Narrative wise, Qiu Yinong is a bit below Chen Ran but method wise, probably caps at 180 something. The list would be tremendous if I included everyone so just try to guess around between the gaps, I agree with what you say

u/Born-Law-5191 20d ago
Is there an actual statement of Tasuku having 150 IQ? It's been long since I reread Tasuku's part and Sky High Hopscotch, but he definitely did do some broken math calcs. Personally, I'd put him above Light Yagami. Tasuku should be somewhere between 160~170, I'll guess 161 maybe?

u/Ancient-End2474 20d ago
There is. Some random guy said his IQ was 150 and it wasn't some estimate he did but an actual record.
Narratives won't always match feats

Ancient End not glazing Chen Ran:
1
u/Ancient-End2474 23d ago
Actually not glazing Chen Ran here btw
Also I asked Chatgpt for what goes beyond 180 by giving description and summaries of feats
2
u/Maker-78 23d ago
3
u/Ancient-End2474 23d ago
I guess putting any character above majority is considered glazing now🥀
Every character I praised as above Chen Ran eventually got surpassed by Chen Ran, so I'm back at praising Chen Ran until I finish some analysis for Court of Sword Treading

Well Baku defeated a guy whose iq was over 190
1
u/Ancient-End2474 20d ago
Doesn't matter here because this isn't Narrative Scaling.
Basically it is like this.
Guy who apparently created blackholes, solved space-time and proved reiman hypothesis?
His IQ based on this is 100 only.
That's because those are narrative and not actual methodological feats

Could you rate the takes in my comment (normal scaling btw) ->
Personally, I'd have JOhan at 158 IQ or lesser, Light at around 159 IQ, Akiyama should be at around 165 IQ or lower, Lelouch at 168 IQ, Ayanokoji at 177 IQ, Baku at 186 IQ, Makishima at 193 IQ, Moriarty at 194 IQ, Senku at 198 IQ, Canon L at 200 IQ
And as for the unrealistic realm of FSIQ -> Novel Sherlock would be 201, Hal PM would be 201 IQ, and uhh...I haven't quite consolidated the IQ levels of the other unrealistics, but Aizen and Dazai are definitely way higher up for sure. (via Aizen visualizing all the seemingly infinite futures of Yhwach to trap him in the timelines, without knowing his ability) (via Dazai able to outprocess the supercomputer). Even Chen Ran is high (via visualizing the structure of a gun to a seemingly microscopic level, and huge mental burden during the My World arc). Sora has his ex machina feat, Shiro has her visualizing 10^120 chess combinations feat.

W's. Make an IQ list for normal scaling wise as well. (Damn, surprising you have Light at the Above average~gifted level, cuz that's where I'd put Takuya Yagami instead). Also make an outsmarting list for normal scaling as well. But I do have a few questions regarding this.
How is Chen Ran's IQ 600, that too by lowball? That's where I'd put the likes of Rick Sanchez, etc.
Also where would Nobody and Doctor rank in terms of IQ? You said it's pointless, but surely it wouldn't get to the point of TREE(3) IQ, or SSCG(3) IQ or stuff like that, since it's either below Decillion, or at Infinite level. Never have I found a single character in fiction who's between these two values.

In fiction anything below 200 is a fraud
