I noticed on the paw badge that the "beans" all have the exact same crystal texture, just re-shaped slightly to fit. This struck me as odd, because I would assume a purely AI generated artwork would make a unique texture for each one. This begs the question, how much human work actually goes into the new badges, and how much is just AI?

Lembro quando conheci o Ingress. Na verdade, cheguei ao jogo por causa do Pokémon GO. Na época, a região onde eu jogava tinha pouquíssimos PokéStops, e descobri que, por meio do Ingress, era possível cadastrar novos portais que, virariam PokéStops no outro jogo. O que começou como uma maneira de melhorar minha experiência no Pokémon GO acabou se tornando algo muito maior.

Comecei a jogar e, quando percebi, já estava completamente envolvido nesse universo. E assim continuei, entre idas e vindas, até os dias de hoje.

Foram anos de ótimos momentos, viagens, aventuras e, principalmente, amizades que levarei comigo para além do jogo. Conheci lugares, vivi experiências e compartilhei histórias que jamais teriam acontecido se um dia eu não tivesse decidido instalar o Ingress.

Mas, com o passar do tempo, o jogo mudou. Aos poucos, a monetização passou a ocupar um espaço cada vez maior, enquanto a comunidade que mantém o jogo vivo, parece receber cada vez menos respeito e consideração por parte da empresa.

E hoje chegou a minha vez de me despedir.

O último evento foi, para mim, a gota d'água. Como o passar dos anos, eu fui o único jogador a permanecer da minha região, sendo assim, vi a possibilidade de conseguir algumas medalhas se tornar praticamente inviável. Ainda tentei, viajei para outras cidades na esperança de conseguir alcançar a medalha dourada (Cygnus), mas acabei sofrendo um acidente na estrada durante essa jornada.

Felizmente, estou bem de saúde. O que ficou foi o prejuízo financeiro e, junto dele, a reflexão sobre até que ponto ainda fazia sentido continuar.

Depois de tudo isso, percebi que já não tenho motivos para continuar. Não quero vincular o que aconteceu com o que vive no jogo, quero apenas preservar os bons momentos vividos até então.

Saio com a consciência tranquila e com gratidão por tudo o que vivi. Apesar das mudanças, das decepções e dos motivos que me trouxeram até aqui, ninguém pode tirar as experiências que tive, os lugares que conheci e as amizades que construí ao longo dessa caminhada.

O Ingress foi muito mais do que um jogo. Foi o motivo de muitas viagens, o ponto de partida para conhecer pessoas incríveis e uma parte importante de uma fase da minha vida. E é por isso que, apesar de tudo, guardarei boas lembranças.

Aos que continuam na luta, desejo que aproveitem cada momento, explorem novos lugares, e acima de tudo, não se esqueçam de que são vocês, os agentes, que fazem o Ingress ser o que ele é.

Obrigado a todos que fizeram parte dessa jornada, seja por um dia, por uma missão ou por anos de aventuras compartilhadas.

I myself am at a very different place in life than I was when I first joined up with Fev Games, and while I still pop open the scanner from time to time, I don't have nearly the time that I used to for it. Could we have this Kinetic Capsule Recipe be retained after the global challenge ends please?

Why?

To be frank, Rare Turrets and Rare Force Amps have for the longest time been, junk mods.

Using them in a Kinetic Capsule recipe helps to clear outese junk mods for something that may get better use, Ie the Battle Beacon.

One other also requested for the global challenge, or just Battle Beacons in general, to have some sort of visual aid, shown to you, the player, when you've done your interaction with a Battle Beacon.

I get that, with so many Battle Beacons going off keeping track of the ones you have interacted with becomes problematic. And a visual aid would help.

After this round of Battle Beacons I personally feel that, there should be on the Septicycle Scoreboard, Battle Beacon Victories as well, rewarding the winning team like a, 10% MU increase, for each field created in the next Septicycle.

This week I look at the previous Shard Storm results and update on my progress on Noise Floor as well as talking about “Generic Business” on OPR/Recon/Wayfarer.

This coming Thursday (29th), I’ll have been doing this podcast for 3 years, so I’ll look to get a quick video message out and see if I can find some older photos of my set up when I started to share.

Next week (which will be November!) I’ll go over the results for the most recent Shard Storm and hopefully we see what November has ahead for us in Ingress!

How about Niantic partnering with Netflix to turn Ingress into a Marvel-style franchise, with interconnected TV series, spin-offs, comics, films, and real-world events that all contribute to one evolving storyline?

A sci-fi saga built around the same mythology: XM, Enlightened, Resistance, ADA, Shapers, Machina, Nemesis, and a conflict whose outcome could actually be influenced by players.

The (somewhat childish) creative direction would be like Dark meets Expanse and Arrivals, mystery and paranoia of Fringe, philosophical depth Interstellar and Space Odyssey, AI and machine consciousness dilemmas of Westworld + Person of Interest + Matrix, and the scientific wonder and emotional payoff of Project Hail Mary (that movie made me cry, please don't judge).

Now imagine the cast:

- Anthony Hopkins, the scientist behind the original Niantic Project, hiding a truth that could change humanity. Everything is magic, except to the magician arc (and unlike Westworld, please don't kill him after the first season, pleeease)

- Keanu Reeves (probably John Hank) an intelligence operative caught between the Enlightened and Resistance, questioning his own memories.

- Ryan Gosling, a physicist uncovering the connection between XM, consciousness, and time.

- Amy Adams, a neuroscientist discovering that people are experiencing memories that aren't their own.

- Karen Gillan, a field operative investigating the secrets of Nemesis.

- Alicia Vikander, the human face of ADA, an artificial intelligence questioning the nature of her own existence.

- Jeffrey Wright, the intelligence chief trying to contain a phenomenon no government can control.

- Kevin Hart, an unconventional systems genius whose unexpected insight helps solve a mystery that has defeated the world's greatest minds.

- Morgan Freeman, the voice behind classified recordings that appear to predict events decades before they happen.

- and there has to be a Matt Damon in there somewhere, he's an astronaut stranded somewhere beyond the known universe, fighting to survive and find his way home :) His story initially seems completely disconnected from Earth, until his discoveries become essential to the entire saga.

The ten-season arc:

1. The Discovery: Humanity encounters XM.

2. The Hidden War: Enlightened v Resistance.

3. The Shapers: Ancient civilizations reveal humanity has been here before.

4. ADA: An AI remembers things that happened before it existed.

5. Machina: The network turns against its creators, or so it seems.

6. Nemesis: A mysterious organisation claims to know humanity's future.

7. The Global Field: XM begins transforming human consciousness like Pluribus.

8. Beyond Earth: A stranded astronaut discovers the true scale of the network.

9. The Machine Question: Everything we believed about factions, AI, & the Shapers begins to unravel.

10. The Human Signal: Humanity must decide whether to destroy the network, surrender to it, or establish a new relationship with it. Still end it with a question mark like Inception.

Then expand into spin-offs: ADA: Ghost in the Network, Jarvis, Black Files, Machina, Nemesis, Before Us, and Orbital, with one special mini-series of Matt Damon, "On his way home" :)

Each tells its own story while revealing pieces of a much larger mystery, eventually converging in major crossover events.

The players and anomalies influence the stiry.

Real-world Ingress Anomalies and faction operations could determine which of two planned story outcomes becomes official. An Enlightened victory change the direction of the next season. A Resistance victory lead to a different set of consequences.

The game becomes part of the storytelling.

Start with one exceptional season. Build the universe. Let the audience earn the next twenry years.

And somewhere out there, Matt Damon is still trying to get home!

Would you watch this? Which actors would you cast differently, and which Ingress characters deserve their own spin-off?

Does Niantic happen to have any plans to create something like PoGo Plus for Ingress players? For example, would it automatically hack portals or offer similar features (capsules,autoattacks etc)?

I miss the old Ingress, where there was some sort of story and progression. The secrecy, it felt more immersive than it does today. Felt a lot more tactical too.

Being from a third world country I never got the chance to participate in the huge events.

I remember being hyped for ingress prime. Now to find the full story to piece together everything. It feels so... fragmented.

This trailer personally feels more hype than the ingress prime trailer and I know how excited we were for that.

Tbf, Pokémon GO does indeed rake in more cash than Ingress, and I understand why you'd invest more into something that profits.

There's hardly any games like it out there. I remember Delta T tried to do something but they eventually got shut down.

But I know the drawbacks. I remember a few people got into trouble for "hacking" at certain places because of a mix of cops didn't really understand it was a game and people visiting a sensitive location, sometimes at weird hours.

Agents with both onyx recon and platinum seer obviously know how to do things, so they would be a good resource for beta testing.
