Is this a 2nd American Civil War type scenario

Very brief context for north america in this world:

first american civil war ends in confederate independence

first and second world war leads to the union annexing the confederates

somewhere in the 2020s a global collapse leads to most of the world having localised regional wars with full nuclear warfare, USA falls into a second civil war with california seceding and stealing alaska and cascadia

renames itself to pacifica and in the context of north america essentially attempts to keep the civil war going for as long as possible to keep pacifica as safe for as long as possible

also the japanese empire won their side of ww2 but got curbstomped by every country in the pacific during the 2020s with pacifica annexing a part of japan

current year is 2054

Won their side how, their side was the pacific. Like, what, did they get deeper into China or something?

they secure a chinese puppet and bringing most of SEA into their sphere, australia splits off from britain to pursue nuclear deterrance and a more aggressive policy against japan

by the 80s and 90s though the sphere is crumbling due to economic inequality and china / manchuria surging past them in gdp

by the 2010s they hollow out their military and most public programmes right before the global collapse, so during the 20s they essentially get bodied by both former colonies and the countries that see them as a threat

in 2054 hokkaido is annexed by the siberians, kyushu is an australian territory while the other two main islands remains occupied by pacifica and manchuria

Sounds like it’s a continuation of Harry Turtledove’s Southern Victory series

There's something about the M16 and the M203 that just hits hard for me, I really like that combination.
