Farm fresh horror art right to your door.

u/lennsden May 31 '21

Well, that’s fucking horrifying. It’s not often that posts here genuinely unsettle me, but damn!

Great job!

Thank you! Unsettling is my brand ;)

Thank you!

Is that based off the scp?

8

u/CatMarieArts May 31 '21

Nope! just a horrific creature that was created in my brain and then developed over time on digital paper. I do absolutely love SCPs though, and I plan on doing fanart of those at a later date.

Remind me of the movie "The Ritual"

u/EmirSc May 31 '21

Same here, that was a sweet design for a monster just wow

15

u/NotInAJayWay May 31 '21

Have you read the book? It's brilliant, way better than the film. Rafe Spall was good though.

Monster design carried the entire movie really. The way it both evoked different animals and parts of the human form, but was also totally unnatural really made an impression on me.

Yeah definitely, at least the first half is. The second half is still really good. I don't want to spoil it though.

The Ritual was in Scandinavia so it was probably meant to be a jotunn or something else from Norse mythology. Wendigo is usually associated with NA

u/Dogs_and_dopamine May 31 '21

One of the villagers said it was a bastard offspring of Loki, a jotunn. I can see the similarities with the eerie horns though!

You should post this over on r/OldGodsOfAppalachia

2

u/CatMarieArts Jun 01 '21

What is that subreddit about? :o

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '21

Old Gods of Appalachia is horror anthology podcast. I love HP Lovecraft, and I'm from Appalachia so I love it. I don't know if I explained it clearly, but half the fun of horror fiction is the unkown.

Hi in the best way possible I hate this and never want to see it again. Amazing work

3

u/CatMarieArts Jun 01 '21

Thank you!
Good news, is that you won't see this again. Bad news, I will be posting more horrific behemoths in the future.

Is this inspired by old gods of appalachia?
