Ever since I learned that Dick Hallorann from The Shining was in this show, I’ve been thinking about opportunities for other King characters to show up. Since this show is going back in time, with Season 1 in 1962, and then Season 2 in 1935, if it did get a third season, it would be in 1908.

Which brings us to John Coffey, the gentle giant condemned for a crime he did not commit. In the movie adaptation of The Green Mile, John was around 39 to 42 years old when he was executed in 1935, the same year of It’s cycle of course. Which means in 1908, John would be anywhere from 12 to 15 years old. Which is why I suggested the young actor Lumi Oniyide for the role, but really just about any talented black child actor could do just fine.

I have a feeling that if John were to be in Derry in 1908, his powers would put him in a prominent role; since he can hear and feel the pain of others, and heal other people with his powers, it might also make him aware of It. And since the creature doesn’t perceive time the way we do, I wonder if It would be able to taunt John with foreshadowing of his death in Ol’ Sparky?

But I also have a feeling It would not be able to hurt John as much as he might want to; not because John is super strong or anything, but because the pain and evil of Humanity is like shards of glass in his head all the time.

Do you think Pennywise should win at the end of the show? Or he should be defeated I think it would be quite refreshing to see villain win

It's also weird that it's supposedly the 9th episode of season 1. Is there actually going to be a new episode on Halloween or is this just a bug with the app?

Was re watching the show and I had a thought. If IT adopted the Pennywise the Clown persona in 1908 because he saw how it attracted the children at the fair. He kept the persona for the next few cycles to the present day 2016 cycle. As clowns become less and less prevelant for children's entertaionment/trust wouldnt he change his resting persona? I was just thinking about what he would choose today lol. Like would be become Miss Rachel lol or something else young kids identify as "fun"? Blippi? lol

I didn’t quite understand the going back in time to change the events. Marge was not apart of the og timeline right? Pennywise went and changed it so it can kill Marge before she gives birth to Richie.

Been rewatching and I just really feel the connection all that much in the 2017 movie idk if we needed more scenes but it just didn’t feel natural. Other than Richie and Eddie I couldn’t see any of these guys actually being friends irl

Holy FUCK!

I did not expect that ending. I thought it’d just be a simple scary scene before the next episode, nothing special, but NOPE. I haven’t really been this disturbed by a horror scene since Nope. I love horror when it’s done right, but I’m one of those assholes that goes, “Oh I don’t really get scared by horror movies.”

But this scene? Yeah, I was DISTURBED.

I don’t think Phil is dead (no spoilers please), but poor Teddy. He had the best performance of the episode out of the kids by FAR imo. That scene with his family at the dinner table requires a subtle skill, and his body language and micro expressions were masterful for someone his age. Really sad to see him go in such a disturbing and depressing fashion. I thought he’d be the main character :(

It is one of the oldest surviving wooden coasters in America. I've ran this image through multiple AI detectors with all the results stating it is "likely real". I still can't believe someone didn't generate another photo with Pennywise into it . Can anyone help me confirm my sanity?? It's just too creepy to be real. What's even crazier I was just there 2 weeks ago riding this relic and to think it still holds up is insane to me.

The show's final episode has IT explicitly say that it doesn't distinguish between past, present and future. Of course, this prompted many viewers to appeal to a "frozen block universe" type of idea for how IT exists in the world.

But that begs the question: If all the events of past, present and future are already written and set in stone for IT then shouldn't IT know better than to even hope that killing Margie will prevent the Loser's Club from bringing ITs death? To me, the fact that IT figured this was worth a shot means that when IT focuses on specific events in its lifespan, there is a genuine chance that those events lead to different outcomes.

TLDR: If ITs existence is one pre-determined block of events over time, where is the logic in it trying to change events? That in itself implies some sort of indeterminism where IT can either change the flow of time or create alternate realities.

I saw S1 and had a strange idea. Imagine there is a parallel universe with a Young boy who is the friend of maturin and he Goes to IT when IT awakens. And there is a Roboter, WHO analysis IT. The Boy Talks about a lot of gossip. And we can see how pennywise get crashout. It would be a Horror comedy
